Douluo Dalu: My System Is Dissatisfied

Chapter 68: Chapter 68

Chapter 68: Ye Feng's Fifth Spirit Skill

Normally, Tang San wouldn't have suspected Xiao Wu of being a transformed spirit beast. After all, who would randomly assume that someone close to them wasn't human?

But now, as he thought back on their time together at Notting Academy, something clicked.

For six years, Xiao Wu had never once gone home.

Every holiday, every festival, she would stick with him and Ye Feng, heading back to the Holy Spirit Village to celebrate. While others went home to reunite with family—or at the very least, visited their relatives' graves to burn incense—Xiao Wu did neither.

Now that Tang San thought about it, the more he pieced things together, the more he felt that Xiao Wu wasn't human… but a transformed spirit beast!

He turned to look at Xiao Wu, and for the first time, an intense struggle took hold of his heart.

"What do I do? Dragon Lord Meng Shu is clearly about to attack Xiao Wu! Should I protect her? But he's a damn Spirit Douluo—what can I even do?"

His thoughts grew darker.

"Teacher said a hundred-thousand-year spirit ring doesn't just provide a massive boost to a spirit master's attributes—it also grants two spirit skills. Plus, if a hundred-thousand-year spirit beast is killed, it drops a spirit bone… and that bone also gives two skills!"

"Shit. How did her identity get exposed this fast? I'm only at level 30—I can't even absorb a hundred-thousand-year spirit ring or spirit bone yet! Is that old bastard Meng Shu just gonna take it all for himself?"

His emotions were a storm of conflict.

Xiao Wu, meanwhile, had already noticed Meng Shu's gaze—and Tang San's hesitation.

Her expression shifted. For the first time, she looked at Tang San with a mix of fear and doubt.

"Did Tang San… figure it out? No way. He's only at level 30—there's no way he can see through my identity."

But the look in his eyes made her uneasy.

Tang San wasn't the only one struggling. Meng Shu was, too.

On one hand, Xiao Wu was a rabbit—but his martial spirit was a Dragon-Headed Staff, not exactly a predator of rabbits. On top of that, at level 85, he was already a Spirit Douluo. Even if he did kill Xiao Wu, it wouldn't help him advance to the Titled Douluo level.

Would it even be worth it?

Zhao Wuji, watching the exchange, narrowed his eyes. He saw Xiao Wu's timid expression and Meng Shu's killing intent—and immediately thought she must have offended him somehow.

He had no idea about Xiao Wu's true identity.

To him, she was just a student of Shrek Academy.

And he sure as hell wasn't about to stand by and let Meng Shu harm one of his students.

But… he also knew he wasn't strong enough to take on both Meng Shu and his wife.

A thought flashed through Zhao Wuji's mind, and he quickly glanced at Ye Feng, who was still sitting cross-legged in meditation.

A plan formed.

Turning to Meng Shu, he clasped his fists and said respectfully, "Senior Meng Shu, may I have a word with you?"

Meng Shu hesitated, then nodded.

The two stepped to the side, and Zhao Wuji got straight to the point.

He told Meng Shu that Xiao Wu was Ye Feng's girlfriend.

And Ye Feng's master?

None other than Chen Xin, the Guardian Douluo of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect.

Zhao Wuji hoped that, for the sake of Chen Xin, Meng Shu would let Xiao Wu go, no matter what offense she had caused him.

Meng Shu's eyes widened slightly.

"Wait… Zhao Wuji misunderstood my intent?"

Meng Shu wasn't actually thinking about killing Xiao Wu out of hatred—he was just debating whether her spirit ring and bone were worth the risk.

But when he heard Chen Xin's name, his expression turned serious.

"So, Chen Xin has already met that girl?" Meng Shu asked, testing the waters.

Zhao Wuji nodded firmly. "Yes."

Meng Shu let out a long sigh.

Then, he turned his gaze back to Xiao Wu—this time, with regret.

"I can't touch her."

At level 85, he was nowhere near Chen Xin's level. If he had seen through Xiao Wu's identity, then there was no way in hell that Chen Xin hadn't noticed it, too.

If Meng Shu killed Xiao Wu, he wouldn't just be dealing with Chen Xin's wrath—he'd be making an enemy of the entire Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect.

Not just him—his whole family would be dragged down with him.

His hand clenched tightly around his cane.

He considered an even darker option: killing everyone here to silence them.

After all, this was the Star Dou Forest.

But could he really wipe out all of Shrek Academy's people?

No. Not completely.

If even one person escaped, it would be a disaster for him and his family.

Another sigh.

Meng Shu's gaze swept across the group—then landed on Oscar.

His mood eased slightly.

Oscar and his granddaughter, Meng Yiran, clearly had some chemistry.

Maybe this wasn't a total loss.

"Alright," Meng Shu finally said.

Under the pressure of Chen Xin's reputation and the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, he made his choice.

He let go of the idea of taking Xiao Wu's spirit ring and spirit bone.

While the group waited, Ye Feng opened his eyes.

The moment he did, a golden light flashed between his brows.

Ye Feng stood up, smiling in satisfaction.

"Brother, what's your fifth spirit skill?" Ning Rongrong asked, her curiosity burning.

Ye Feng lifted his left hand, and a crystalline begonia flower appeared in his palm.

The heart of the begonia had nine stamens—five of them were colored (red, blue, green, yellow, and gold), while the remaining four were translucent like glass.

As the Nine Hearts Mysterious Tang materialized, Tang San felt an odd pressure in the air.

His Blue Silver Grass martial spirit trembled slightly, as if it was… afraid of Ye Feng's flower.

Then, five spirit rings rose beneath Ye Feng's feet: two yellow, one purple, and two black.

His fifth spirit ring had three black streaks—a thirty-thousand-year spirit ring.

"Thirty thousand years?" Dai Mubai's eyes widened.

The upper limit for a fifth spirit ring was twelve thousand years.

The sixth was capped at twenty thousand, and the seventh below fifty thousand.

Yet Ye Feng's fifth spirit ring had a lifespan of thirty thousand years.

Even the Peerless Dragon Snake couple looked at him in shock.

"As expected of him… Chen Xin's direct disciple," Meng Shu muttered, stroking his beard.

"Brother, show us your spirit skill!" Ning Rongrong pressed.

Ye Feng smirked and waved his hand.

Golden light burst from the Nine Hearts Mysterious Tang, shattering into petals of pure energy that enveloped his body.

When the light faded, Ye Feng stood in golden armor.

The Nine-Heart Emperor Armor.

His fifth spirit skill.
