Douluo Dao : Soul Archer: The Bow of Destiny

Chapter 112: Shrek's Encounter

After bidding farewell to the Shrek Academy team, Feng Xuan didn't leave the Star Dou Forest entirely. Instead, he moved some distance away, making sure he wasn't in their immediate vicinity but still within range to observe what was happening. His expression remained unreadable as he considered the implications of his presence here.

Tang San had come to the Star Dou Forest to help Oscar find his third spirit ring. Originally, if things had followed the story's course, Tang San would have encountered the Man-Faced Demon Spider, absorbed its spirit ring, and acquired a spirit bone.

But now, with Feng Xuan's interference, things were already shifting.

Feng Xuan leaned against a tree branch, his eyes glowing faintly under the forest's dim light. "Now that I have taken the initiative to hunt for a Man-Faced Spider soul bone… Tang San won't get it," he murmured to himself.

This wasn't necessarily an intentional move to harm Tang San, but Feng Xuan wasn't going to allow fate to progress as it had in the original story.

The Man-Faced Demon Spider's soul bone was an excellent piece for someone who specialized in agility and control, but in the end, it had fallen into Tang San's hands. That wouldn't happen this time.

Still, his presence here didn't mean much in the grander scheme of things. His personal grudge with Tang San aside, he had no reason to interfere with whatever misfortune would soon befall Shrek Academy.

He exhaled softly, shaking his head. "What happens next… is none of my concern."

While Feng Xuan kept his distance, the Shrek team continued deeper into the forest. As per the original timeline, Oscar had successfully obtained a third spirit ring after Zhao Wuji led the team in hunting a suitable beast for him.

However, their journey was soon interrupted when they were ambushed by an unexpected opponent—Serpent Grandmother, the powerful spirit beast master who said that sprit ring acquired by Oscar was her granddaughter's.

Feng Xuan, though not personally involved, could hear line between granny and Shrek.

For a brief moment, he almost considered intervening. But then he reminded himself—this had nothing to do with him.

Shrek would survive.

Moments after the battle of words with Serpent Grandmother ended, another presence emerged.

A presence so overwhelming that even Feng Xuan, from where he stood miles away, could feel the terrifying aura washing over the forest like a tidal wave.

Titan Giant Ape—Er Ming.

A true catastrophe for anyone below the level of a Titled Douluo.

Feng Xuan's expression remained indifferent, even as he heard the distant, panicked shouts from Shrek's team. He already knew what was happening—Xiao Wu had been taken.

And Tang San had lost control.

Feng Xuan closed his eyes briefly, remembering how in the original story, Tang San had recklessly chased after the Titan Giant Ape in an attempt to rescue Xiao Wu.

Such arrogance.

Did Tang San truly believe he could fight against a 100,000-year-old spirit beast just because he was angry?

But again—this wasn't his problem.

Instead of immediately chasing after Xiao Wu, Tang San's path led him to another battle.

This time, he encountered a different Man-Faced Demon Spider—a 1,500-year-old version of the terrifying creature.

Unlike the original story, where Tang San had killed and absorbed the spirit ring of the first Man-Faced Demon Spider he encountered, this time, he had to settle for a different one.

And he did not receive a spirit bone.

Feng Xuan smirked slightly at the thought. A small change, but a significant one.

Without the Eight Spider Lances, Tang San's future battles would be different. His combat ability wouldn't be as overwhelming as before, and his path to becoming a powerhouse would take longer than expected.

Would this weaken him in the future?

Or would it push him to find an even greater opportunity?

Feng Xuan didn't know, nor did he care.

Eventually, the Shrek team reunited, found Xiao Wu safe, and returned to Shrek Academy, their journey in the Star Dou Forest coming to an end.

For them, this was just another step in their growth.

For Feng Xuan, however, it was merely an insignificant detour in his own journey.

Now that his task was complete, Feng Xuan teleported back to where he truly needed to be—the Yin-Yang Spirit Well.

The ancient well was a place of power, containing deep spiritual energy that could nourish his body, refine his martial spirit, and strengthen his foundations.

Upon arriving, he let out a deep breath.

Compared to all the drama happening with Shrek, this place was peaceful.

And peace was what he needed to prepare for his next step.

As he sat by the well, absorbing the rich energy within, he couldn't help but smirk slightly.

Tang San's fate was no longer what it used to be.

But that was just the beginning.
