Douluo Dao : Soul Archer: The Bow of Destiny

Chapter 114: A Gift Beyond Imagination

The night sky stretched infinitely above the Yin-Yang Spirit Well, its dark expanse dotted with shimmering stars. The warm glow of the moon bathed the sacred ground, reflecting off the bubbling pools of the well, where energies of yin and yang intertwined like celestial dancers.

Dugu Bo and Dugu Yan stood near the misty pools, still processing the day's disappointments. Their journey had been fruitless—the spirit bone they so desperately needed remained out of reach. Even the most powerful forces in the empire had denied them.

Yet now, standing before them, Feng Xuan reached into his storage bag and casually pulled out a spirit bone.

The moment the bone left his storage, an oppressive energy filled the air. The bone gleamed with a mysterious light, its surface adorned with intricate patterns that pulsed with power. It was real.

Dugu Bo's eyes widened in utter disbelief. His breath hitched.

Dugu Yan gasped, covering her mouth with both hands. Her heart pounded in her chest.

"This… this is a soul bone…" she whispered.

Dugu Bo's mind raced. He had spent decades searching, pulling every string he had in Heaven Dou Empire, only to be denied. He was a Title Douluo, yet even he could not secure such a treasure.

And yet, Feng Xuan—this young man who had left only a day ago—had returned with one.

"How is this possible?" Dugu Bo's voice was hoarse. He narrowed his eyes at the boy. "Feng Xuan, you were gone for barely a day. Where did you get this?"

Dugu Yan's gaze was locked onto the bone, her emotions turbulent. "You… you had this all along?"

Feng Xuan let out a small chuckle, shaking his head. "No, I only just obtained it. It was… a fortunate encounter."

Dugu Bo crossed his arms, his eyes sharp. "A fortunate encounter? Kid, spirit bones don't just fall from the sky. Tell us what happened."

Feng Xuan nodded. "Alright, let me explain."

Feng Xuan took a deep breath and recounted his journey into Star Dou Forest.

"I left Shrek Academy after realizing that it is not my liking. I had no interest in getting involved, so I made my way toward the outskirts of Star Dou Forest to train. However, while I was meditating, I felt a powerful energy fluctuation nearby."

Dugu Yan and Dugu Bo listened intently.

"I was attack by Man faced spider which was approx 2200 year. I fight and kill it but to my surprise it gives external soul bone."

Dugu Bo's brows furrowed. "Manfaced spider has high toxicity. How do you kill it?"

Feng Xuan nodded. "I am immune to all poison. So it's attack are nothing to me."

Dugu Bo's expression darkened. "So you're saying… we exhausted everything we had, begged the empire, searched for years… and you just walked into the forest and found one in a single day?"

Feng Xuan shrugged. "Luck plays a role in fate."

Dugu Bo let out a bitter laugh. "Kid, that's not luck. That's something else entirely."

Dugu Yan was staring at him, her emotions a mess.

This boy had saved her life once before, and now—he was handing her the very thing she had desperately searched for.

And yet, he wasn't even considering keeping it for himself.

"Feng Xuan…" her voice trembled, "why are you giving it to me? You could use it yourself. A spirit bone is priceless!"

Feng Xuan stepped forward and placed the soul bone into her hands. His voice was firm, unwavering.

"Because you need it more than I do."

Dugu Yan felt her breath hitch. No one had ever placed her needs above their own like this before.

She had been betrayed by Yu Tianheng, a man she once trusted. He had left her when she was at her weakest, abandoning her without a second thought.

Yet here was Feng Xuan—an outsider, someone who owed her nothing—offering her the greatest treasure she could ever receive.

Tears welled in her eyes.

Feng Xuan noticed them and sighed. He reached out, his fingers brushing against her cheek, wiping away a single tear.

"Don't cry," he said gently. "Just absorb it."

Dugu Yan bit her lip, her emotions overwhelming her. For the first time in a long while, she felt truly cared for.

She closed her eyes, steadying her breath, and nodded.

"I will."

Dugu Yan sat cross-legged, placing the man faced demon spiders's Soul Bone onto her back. A surge of energy burst forth, and the ground beneath her vibrated as she began absorbing it.

The process was painful. Incredible venomous energy surged through her body. The poison that had plagued her since birth fought against the new power. Her veins turned a dark green, pulsing with toxicity.

Dugu Bo watched closely, his heart pounding. If something went wrong, she could die.

But Feng Xuan was calm.

After an hour, the spirit bone fully merged with her arm. Dugu Yan gasped as a wave of fresh power coursed through her veins.

She looked at Feng Xuan, her body trembling from the sensation. "I… I can feel it. The venom… it's stabilizing!"

Feng Xuan knelt beside her. "Now, listen carefully. Guide all the poison in your body toward the soul bone."

Dugu Yan followed his instructions, concentrating all the lingering toxins into her left arm. The soul bone absorbed it all, neutralizing the deadly energy.

Her poisonous constitution—something that had haunted her for years—was being purified.

The moment she finished, her body felt light for the first time in her life.

She opened her eyes. Tears streamed down her face.

"It's gone…" she whispered in disbelief. "The poison is gone…"

Dugu Bo took a step forward, his old eyes shaking with emotion. "Yan… are you saying…?"

Dugu Yan nodded, smiling through her tears. "Grandpa… I'm cured."

Dugu Bo's legs nearly gave out. He had spent his entire life trying to find a cure for his granddaughter. And yet, this boy had done it in a matter of days.

Feng Xuan stood up and smiled. "Looks like it worked."

Dugu Yan suddenly lunged forward and wrapped her arms around him, hugging him tightly.

"Thank you…" she whispered. "Thank you so much."

Feng Xuan was caught off guard but slowly patted her back. "It's alright. You don't owe me anything."

She pulled away slightly, shaking her head. "No… I do."

Dugu Bo stepped forward, his face solemn. "Feng Xuan… I don't know what to say."

The old man took a deep breath, then bowed deeply.

"You saved my granddaughter's life. From this moment on, the Jade Phosphor Clan will stand by you, no matter what."

Dugu Yan wiped away the last of her tears, looking at Feng Xuan with newfound determination.

"I swear… if you ever need me, I will be there."

Feng Xuan simply smiled but his face turned red after dugu yan's hug.

It was first time in this life he was hugged by girl.
