Douluo Dao : Soul Archer: The Bow of Destiny

Chapter 116: Assembling Strength, Sealing Power

Feng Xuan stood atop a quiet hill outside the Yin-Yang Spirit Well, gazing into the distance. The cool evening breeze rustled his robes as he collected his thoughts. His journey was shifting toward a new phase—he had confirmed Dugu Yan as his first teammate, but now he needed more.

"If I want to compete in the tournament, I need to form a full team," he muttered to himself. "Dugu Yan is strong, but we can't rely on just her poison. We need balance, speed, power, control..."

His mind immediately went to Zhu Zhuqing.

From the first moment they met, Zhu Zhuqing had been different from the others. Unlike the proud Ning Rongrong or the fiery Xiao Wu, Zhu Zhuqing had a cold, independent nature. But behind that icy exterior, Feng Xuan had seen a determination that rivaled his own.

If she agreed to join him, it would be a great advantage. However, he wasn't sure if she would leave Shrek Academy. She had her own reasons for being there, and Dai Mubai's presence made things complicated.

Still, it was worth trying.

Using Spatial Blink, he moved swiftly through the dense forests, heading towards Soto City. If Zhu Zhuqing was anywhere, she would be at the training grounds or a secluded place practicing. She wasn't someone who liked being around crowds.

As he approached Soto City, his spiritual sense spread out, searching for a familiar presence. Soon, he found her—alone, practicing in an abandoned courtyard.

Feng Xuan landed lightly a few meters away.

"You're still training alone, Zhu Zhuqing?" he said casually.

Zhu Zhuqing turned sharply, her eyes narrowing. The faint moonlight reflected off her sweat-covered skin. Her form-fitting black outfit accentuated her speed and agility, and her muscles were tense as if prepared for a fight.

"Feng Xuan?" she asked, slightly surprised.

He nodded and stepped forward. "I came to ask you something important."

She wiped her brow, breathing steadily. "If it's important, say it."

Feng Xuan didn't waste time. "Join my team."

Silence stretched between them for a few moments before Zhu Zhuqing let out a small scoff. "You know I'm with Shrek, right? Why would I join your team?"

Feng Xuan met her gaze firmly. "Because you're not truly part of them. You only came to Shrek because you had no better option. You don't owe them anything. Besides…" He took a step closer. "You want to get stronger. And you know I can help you achieve that."

Zhu Zhuqing's sharp eyes searched his face as if trying to see through his intentions.

"Why me?" she finally asked.

Feng Xuan gave a small smile. "Because you have the will to break your fate. And I respect that."

Her fingers tightened slightly, the only sign that his words had struck a chord.

She looked away for a moment, deep in thought. Then, without turning back, she asked, "Who else is in your team?"

"Dugu Yan," he answered. "She left Heaven Dou Academy to follow me."

Zhu Zhuqing raised an eyebrow at that. "Dugu Yan who is she? Is she left the Imperial Academy? That's… unexpected. Someone can join your team despite leaving prestige academy. "

She fell silent again, and Feng Xuan could tell she was weighing her choices. Then, she turned to him, eyes filled with determination.

"Fine," she said. "I'll join you."

A small smile tugged at the corner of Feng Xuan's lips. "Good choice."

"But I needed time to break my engagement with dai mubai. He is not the man I thought he was. I knew that he was a coward but not a womanizer. Which makes me sick. I hope you understand."

"I have inquired about your family and know that your family made ean ngagement agreement with Emperor. So you care about me so keeping your distance from me." Said Feng Xuan.

"Who cares about you? Hump" said Zhu Zhuqing with shy expression.

"We will fight your family together." Said Feng Xuan.

Zhu Zhuqing felt warm seeing someone care for her.

"But they have Empire backing them up." Zhu Zhuqing said with worry.

"We will become powerful enough to fight them, "said Feng Xuan.

Feng Xuan then takes out Daffodil Jade Flesh Bone from his storage and gives it to her, saying Take it to improve your soul power and also give Yearning Heartbroken Red for Xiao wu.

He told her not to tell anyone and if possible, to take it when leaves Shrek. Also, tell her process of using Yearning Heartbroken Red and story behind it.

He didn't know if Xiao Wu could make Yearning Heartbroken Red recognize it or not, but he needed to give it to her to hide her breath.

With Zhu Zhuqing joining, Feng Xuan felt the pieces falling into place. But before focusing on the rest of the team, he needed to train. The Soto Spirit Arena was the best place to hone his combat instincts and test his limits.

However, there was a major issue—his strength.

At Rank 49, he was already at the peak of the Soul Sect realm. If he entered the arena at full power, he would struggle to find worthy opponents. To truly train, he needed to fight as a Soul Elder (Rank 31-39) so that he could test his limits and fight multiple battles.

And that's where his master's Yogic Energy would help.

Feng Xuan sat cross-legged in meditation, focusing inward. Shivarjuna's voice word echoed in his mind.

"To master your strength, you must also learn to suppress it."

A faint golden glow enveloped Feng Xuan's body as he guided his soul power through his meridians. Slowly, his power was locked, preventing him from using more than Rank 31 worth of strength. His last spirit ring and his Sun God Armor were sealed, making him appear no stronger than a typical Soul Elder.

When he opened his eyes, his spiritual energy had stabilized. His power was still within him, but it would remain dormant until he needed it.

" Thank you Master." Mummerd Feng Xuan.

Even in his deep yogic Nindra, he helps me with his knowledge.

Walking through the bustling entrance of Soto Spirit Arena, Feng Xuan felt excitement thrumming in his veins. The air was thick with tension—fighters of all levels gathered here to test their skills, earn rewards, and build reputations.

Since he had sealed his true strength, he registered as a Soul Elder (Rank 31). This meant he could participate in high-level matches without attracting too much attention.

His Vijaya Bow was his only weapon—his Sun God Armor was locked, so he would rely purely on his bow and archery skills.

He took a deep breath. This will be a perfect opportunity to sharpen my instincts.
