Douluo: I Became Qian Xunji, The Secret Chamber Douluo!

Chapter 5: The Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well

"Congratulations, Young Master!"

Qianjun and Jiangmo looked at Qian Xunji in shock. A top-tier light-type soul beast of 75,000 years—Qian Xunji had slain it at only level 80, without even possessing his eighth soul ring. If it were them, even as Titled Douluo, dealing with such a beast one-on-one would not have been easy.

The Angel Martial Soul truly lived up to its reputation as the most powerful martial soul on the continent!

Once Qian Xunji absorbed his eighth soul ring, his strength might even surpass theirs.

After adjusting his breathing slightly, Qian Xunji said, "Elders, please protect me while I absorb the soul ring."

"As you command!" they replied in unison.

Qian Xunji sat cross-legged, guiding the soul ring of the Two-Winged Light Tiger onto himself. Instantly, a vast and pure soul power surged into his body, rampaging through his meridians. At the same time, within his spiritual world, the resentful spirit of the Two-Winged Light Tiger manifested, attempting to shatter his consciousness and turn him into a mindless fool.

However, with the overwhelming suppression of his Angel Martial Soul due to its superior attribute and rank, he endured the pressure with ease. His spiritual sea trembled violently, but thanks to the 65,000-year-old soul beast he had slain earlier—which granted him a head soul bone that significantly enhanced his spiritual power—he successfully withstood the mental assault of the Two-Winged Light Tiger's resentment.

The knowledge compiled by generations of soul masters at the cost of their lives was indeed invaluable. For soul masters without any cheats or external help, this was truly their limit.

After nearly half a day, Qian Xunji finally finished absorbing the soul ring, and his soul power soared to level 83.

Under normal circumstances, absorbing a 75,000-year-old soul ring would only push him close to level 82 at best. However, the Spirit Condensation Wisdom Head Soul Bone he had acquired earlier also provided a boost to his cultivation. After obtaining the eighth soul ring, the benefits fully manifested.

With a flash of light, Qian Xunji stored the corpse of the Two-Winged Light Tiger into his soul tool.

The body of a 75,000-year-old soul beast still contained vast residual energy. The flesh of such a soul beast wasn't just a gourmet delicacy but also a top-tier cultivation resource—there was no way he would let it go to waste.

"Elders, let's head to the Sunset Forest."

Seeing the confusion in Qianjun and Jiangmo's eyes, Qian Xunji explained, "Before coming here to hunt my soul ring, I came across an ancient text mentioning that the Sunset Forest contains a treasure trove comparable to the Star Dou Forest. The Star Dou Forest is too dangerous, but the Sunset Forest should be much safer. With your strength, Elders, I believe we can come and go as we please."

"Young Master, you flatter us. With your current strength, you are already on par with us," they responded.

After a round of mutual praise, Qian Xunji and the two elders set off for the Sunset Forest and began their search.

Three days and nights passed, yet they found nothing.

Qianjun Douluo asked, "Young Master, are you sure this information is reliable? We've searched the entire Sunset Forest already."

Qian Xunji frowned slightly. Something was off. They had clearly covered the entire area—so why hadn't they encountered Dugubo's poisonous miasma?

Wait. What timeline was this again? There were still over thirty years before the main events of the original story began.

Qian Xunji closed his eyes, and suddenly, a realization struck him. He had been relying too much on his past knowledge of the novel and had not properly accessed the memories of his current body.

At this point in time, Dugubo was probably only a Soul King or Soul Emperor, still wandering the continent in search of a cure for his clan's Jade Phosphor Serpent poison. He hadn't even discovered the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well yet—otherwise, he wouldn't have been all alone except for his granddaughter when he appeared in the main story.

Moreover, in this timeline, Tang Chen was still the sect master of the Clear Sky Sect. Qian Xunji had not yet ascended to the position of Supreme Pontiff of the Spirit Hall, nor had he ordered the attack on Seagod Island, which led Qian Daoliu and Tang Chen to travel there together and encounter Seagod Douluo Bo Saixi. None of that had happened yet.

As his thoughts clicked into place, Qian Xunji finally understood.

Why had Qian Daoliu, despite being at the peak of power, chosen to step down so early? Why had he said things that might hurt his son's pride, telling him to just safeguard the Spirit Hall's foundation? And why had Qian Xunji, after ascending to the throne, become so aggressive?

Qian Daoliu's reasoning was simple: stability.

With the divine inheritance of their ancestor, their family could naturally cultivate to rank 99 with time. His plan was to have Qian Xunji simply outlive Tang Chen, allowing the Spirit Hall to maintain its dominance over the continent.

But Qian Xunji, frustrated by his father's words, became overly ambitious after taking power. He was determined to make a mark, which was why he attacked Seagod Island and aggressively promoted his achievements—becoming a titled Douluo before fifty, being hailed as a prodigy of the Spirit Hall, and so on.

After realizing all of this, Qian Xunji could only feel two words: *utterly speechless*.

This father and son pair had managed to pick the dumbest possible path for the Spirit Hall in their era. And as for the next generation? Three love-struck fools would only make things worse.

"Elders, we've searched most of the Sunset Forest. Now, let's focus on looking between the mountain valleys."

With that, Qian Xunji activated his martial soul, and eight soul rings—two yellow, two purple, and four black—emerged beneath him. With a flap of his wings, he soared into the sky to search from above.

Soon, he spotted a particularly prominent hill rising about five hundred meters high amidst the dense forest.

As Qian Xunji, Qianjun, and Jiangmo approached the hill, two beams of pale white light suddenly shot out from a crevice.

"Young Master, be careful!"

Qianjun and Jiangmo instantly raised their Coiling Dragon Staffs and struck at the beams. There was no loud impact, but the soul power surrounding their staffs rapidly solidified into stone before crumbling away.

"What is this?!"

Qianjun Douluo used his spiritual sense to scan the area below.

There, he saw an eight-meter-long creature with a humanoid upper body and a snake-like lower half. It had an eerie, bewitching face, and its pupils were an unsettling shade of dark green. But the most terrifying feature was its hair—each strand was a tiny, writhing snake.

"A 50,000-year-old Medusa Queen. How bold of it to attack us!"

Qianjun Douluo showed no mercy. He understood that the Medusa Queen had attacked them preemptively, believing them to be a threat.

But so what? In the world of soul masters, weakness was a sin. Before the strong, the weak had no place.

Against a fellow soul master, Qianjun Douluo might act with some decorum, treating them with the respect of a senior.

But a soul beast? To him, they were nothing more than livestock.

Normally, he might spare them for the sake of sustainable soul ring harvesting, but since this one wanted to die—he would grant its wish.
