Douluo: Infinite Lottery System

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: System Reward

After leaving the Spirit Hall, Xiao Tianyang arrived at the agreed-upon meeting place with Village Chief Old Jack. However, since the matter was resolved fairly quickly, they had not yet arrived.

As a result, Xiao Tianyang could only wait where he was. But despite the wait, the joy on his face was evident.

Ding!

Congratulations to the host for completing the side mission, [Challenge Su Yuntao]!

Reward: Random martial arts x1

Ding!

Congratulations to host Xiao Tianyang for obtaining the Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms Arts.

Xiao Tianyang received this system notification when Su Yuntao released his martial spirit. That was why he decided to stop the fight.

First, Xiao Tianyang had no interest in fighting further, and he didn't want to be beaten. Second, although Su Yuntao seemed to be somewhat friendly with him, it was better not to reveal too much in front of others to avoid attracting unwanted attention.

Based on these two points, Xiao Tianyang decided to be considerate and take a step back for Su Yuntao, even offering some small gifts to repair any potential gap between them. As for whether Su Yuntao would appreciate the gifts... Did it need to be said?

At Su Yuntao's age, what gift could be more exciting than the Boruto comics? If it weren't for the inconvenience, Xiao Tianyang would have loved to stay and watch Su Yuntao enjoy it himself.

"The Eighteen Dragon-Subduing Palms are similar to the Nine Suns Divine Art," Xiao Tianyang thought. "The moves are simple, but they're incredibly powerful, especially for countering flashy techniques."

"However, with my current strength, I can only manage the first three moves. Any more, and my body might not be able to handle it."

"But once I get my spirit ring, I'll be able to use all of them without any issues!"

With this in mind, Xiao Tianyang continued to mentally rehearse the Eighteen Dragon-Subduing Palms and refine his understanding.

When he was busy, time seemed to slip by unnoticed. He didn't even realize someone had approached until he heard a voice.

"Brother Tianyang, what are you thinking about?" Tang San asked, looking puzzled. "I've been calling your name for a while, but you didn't respond until now."

"It's nothing," Xiao Tianyang shook his head and smiled. He then turned to Old Jack and said, "Grandpa Jack, let's go."

Soon, the three of them arrived at the Nuoding Academy. The slightly worn archway was made of piled-up rocks, and in the center, four large characters read Nuoding Academy.

"It looks decent," Xiao Tianyang thought. "It's kind of like the middle school from my past life..."

At this moment, a mocking voice rang out. "Where did this country bumpkin come from? Don't you know that this is Nuoding Academy?"

Old Jack's heart sank, and he quickly retrieved his certificate, handing it to the two guards at the entrance.

"Old man, are you joking with me?" The guard glanced at the certificate in his hand, then looked at Xiao Tianyang and Tang San, sneering. "How can two children with innate soul power come out of your poor village? And one of them has Blue Silver Grass? Do you think I'm an idiot?"

The guard then carelessly tossed the certificate to the ground, his contemptuous expression clearly showing his disdain.

Old Jack's face darkened, anger rising in his chest. However, he did not dare to show it. After all, this was Nuoding Academy. He wasn't just thinking about himself but also about the two children beside him.

Sighing inwardly, he started to reach into his pockets.

Seeing this, the guard's eyes gleamed with greed. This wasn't the first time they had done such a thing.

But just as Old Jack was about to take out money to settle the matter, Xiao Tianyang suddenly stepped forward and asked, "Do you two know this?"

The guard was a bit dismissive, but his expression shifted slightly, still clearly annoyed. Could a duck that had already landed in his lap fly away so easily?

But when the guards saw what Xiao Tianyang was holding, their faces immediately turned pale with fear. The object in Xiao Tianyang's hand was none other than a certificate issued by Spirit Hall.

"You two are merely guards of the academy. So you absolutely won't dare to disregard a certificate from Spirit Hall," Xiao Tianyang said, his voice calm but filled with authority.

Hearing those words, the two guards couldn't help but let out a relieved breath.

"So, there must be someone behind this. Let me take a wild guess... You belong to Nuoding Academy, so it's Nuoding Academy that wants to provoke Spirit Hall, right?"

If they were nervous before, now they were terrified!

The child before them… no, the young master, his words were a death sentence!

"Young master, I'm so sorry! We were wrong to look down on you, please forgive us!" The guard cried out, falling to the ground and clutching Xiao Tianyang's leg, pleading for mercy.

At first, it seemed like a trivial matter, but now, based on Xiao Tianyang's words, even their lives might not be enough to atone for their mistake.

"Is that so?" Xiao Tianyang rubbed his chin and pretended to think deeply. "Don't worry, you two. We have Spirit Hall backing us. If you expose the instigator, not only will someone protect you, but you might even be rewarded."

The guards realized they couldn't risk hesitating. If they did, it would truly be their end.

Hearing Xiao Tianyang's words, the other guard immediately knelt down, almost frantic. "Please, young master, we were wrong! Just overlook our offense, please forgive us."

Xiao Tianyang's expression remained composed as he pointed toward Old Jack. The two guards immediately understood his gesture and rushed forward.

"I'm sorry, old man. It was our mistake earlier," one of the guards said, bowing slightly. "You are a respected individual, so please have some mercy on us poor folks."

Old Jack, who had never encountered such a situation before, quickly waved his hands, signaling that it was no big deal. The guards, seeing his reaction, turned their attention back to Xiao Tianyang, knowing full well that it was the young man who ultimately had the final say.

"Hehe, it seems I misunderstood," Xiao Tianyang said, his voice casual as he subtly rubbed his fingers together.

The guards' faces tightened, and with a resigned sigh, they pulled out a few silver coins and placed them in Xiao Tianyang's hand.

"Is this all?" Xiao Tianyang asked, his tone laced with disappointment.

"It's all we have, young master," the guard replied, his voice trembling.

"Forget it. I'm not interested in such small change," Xiao Tianyang said dismissively, before tossing the silver coins back at them. He added a gold soul coin into the mix and said, "Just remember to bring your brains next time you go out."

The guards' eyes lit up upon seeing the gold coin, and they hastily pocketed the money, bowing repeatedly. "Don't worry, young master. We won't make such a mistake again. If you need anything, feel free to come to us anytime."

Tang San and Old Jack, who had been silently observing, were left speechless. They didn't quite know what to make of the scene before them.

It seems that the plot took this turn as a result of Xiao Tianyang's clever manipulation and ability to control the situation. Even though the two guards were initially in a position of power, trying to blackmail Old Jack and the children, Xiao Tianyang flipped the script entirely.

By using his wit and presenting himself as someone with connections to Spirit Hall, he was able to take control of the situation and make the guards believe they were the ones in danger.

Old Jack and Tang San were taken aback, they couldn't help but admire Xiao Tianyang's cleverness.

Tang San, realizing that Xiao Tianyang is more cunning than he initially thought, probably begins to reassess his perception of his only friend.

Xiao Tianyang is not just physically strong, but also mentally sharp and resourceful, making him someone who can outmaneuver others with ease.

The observer in the distance, who saw the entire exchange unfold, likely shared the same shock and curiosity. For a child to wield such influence and play the situation to his advantage, hints at a much more complex character than they might have first assumed.
