Chapter 47: Chapter 47: Shrek Seven Devils Win

At that moment, a figure appeared in front of the strike. With both hands, he grabbed Xiao Wu and Ning Rongrong, shielding them with his own body!

Boom!

With a muffled sound, Xiao Tianyang took three steps back. When he lifted his head, his eyes met Zhao Wuji.

Ding! Congratulations to the host for completing the side mission, [Assistant!]

Mission Reward: Host's Charm Increased!

Xiao Tianyang's expression showed slight satisfaction. "Teacher Zhao, the incense stick has burned out!"

Just as he expected, the task was completed!

Since he had deliberately kept himself out from the start, he didn't want him to affect the outcome. So, he acted just as the incense was about to burn out, seizing the last opportunity. In doing so, he not only participated in the battle but also avoided intervening prematurely.

Completing the task was already a given.

However, to be honest, the victory was still risky. Anyone with a discerning eye could see the clear difference in soul power between the two sides. Yet, in terms of technique, Tang San and Xiao Wu had a clear advantage.

As a result, enduring for the last third of the time wasn't a significant challenge. The only issue was the chaos that occurred earlier. If Tang San had chosen to retreat and not engaged in the attack zone of the Vigorous Vajra Palm, victory would have been certain. But he didn't.

In the end, Xiao Tianyang rushed forward to block the powerful palm, ensuring that Tang San and the others could pass the test. Even if it seemed like only Tang San was standing at the end... they still passed!

Zhao Wuji frowned slightly, staring at the incense stick as it finally burned out.

"Xiao Wu!" Tang San's voice came from behind Xiao Tianyang.

"She's just suffering from the backlash of her attack. She'll be fine after a night's rest." Zhao Wuji spoke up, though the frustration was still visible on his face. It was embarrassing that even as a Spirit Sage he had been unable to do much against four Spirit grandmasters.

"Why wait until tomorrow?" Xiao Tianyang chuckled, flames dancing in his hands, and two soul rings appeared beneath his feet—one purple, one black!

Zhao Wuji's frown deepened. But when he saw those two soul rings, his jaw nearly dropped to the floor! What was this?

Xiao Tianyang's purple soul ring lit up, and nine flame-like balls flickered around him.

"First spirit skill—Myriad Transformations Fire"

Nine fireballs flared around Xiao Tianyang, four of which turned green and were absorbed by Tang San and the others.

Tang San's body trembled as an incredulous look appeared in his eyes. His injuries, soul power, and physical strength were recovering at an astonishing speed!

Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing, who had been dazed moments before, were the first to regain their senses, their eyes snapping open in under three seconds. Though their heads still ached, their mental state was gradually improving.

Finally, there was Xiao Wu. She had been suffering from the backlash of her skill, and her mind had been injured, but she woke up in less than five seconds. Still, her eyes were empty.

"Xiao Wu, you're awake!" Tang San exclaimed in surprise.

"Brother San, what's wrong with you?" Xiao Wu, now slowly regaining her senses, found herself lying in Tang San's arms. A blush crept over her face, but she didn't pull away. Instead, she asked softly, "How did you do it?"

Dai Mubai watched in shock as Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing stood up from the ground. They seemed completely at ease, with no signs of injury. But the blank expressions on their faces indicated they didn't understand what had just happened.

"Didn't you see it? It's my first spirit Skill." Xiao Tianyang turned to look at Zhao Wuji. "Teacher Zhao, can we begin our test now?"

"Are you sure you want to fight me?" Zhao Wuji narrowed his eyes. "They passed just now, but only suffered minor losses. Do you think I'll make the same mistake twice?"

"That's not necessarily true." Xiao Tianyang was confident in his reasons. If it came to a confrontation, there was no way he could defeat him. That much was certain. However, the advantage he held was that his opponent wouldn't kill or seriously harm him.

Once this happened, it would give him plenty of room to maneuver. Defeating him was impossible, but delaying for a stick of incense wasn't a problem.

Just as Zhao Wuji was about to nod with a gloomy expression, Tang San suddenly set Xiao Wu down, stepped forward, and said, "Teacher Zhao, I hope to fight with you!"

Although Xiao Wu had recovered, Tang San was still deeply frustrated. If it hadn't been for Xiao Tianyang, they might have all fallen right then and there!

He had once promised that unless he died, nothing would happen to Xiao Wu. But now? Even though winning seemed pointless, it was just as Xiao Tianyang had said from the beginning. If your faith is lost, it's better to try to regain it than let it slip away forever.

"Brother San…" Xiao Wu wanted to stop him, but Xiao Tianyang held her back. "Teacher Zhao, I don't think you have any reason to refuse, do you?" Xiao Tianyang spoke up first. "Now that they are students of the academy, logically, it wouldn't align with the rules for you, a Vice Dean, to refuse a request from your students, right?"

Sure enough, upon hearing this, Zhao Wuji, who was about to lose his temper, immediately choked back his words. The action he had taken earlier could be considered a violation of his rules, but it had only been a matter of technique and not part of the fourth test.

Now that Tang San and the others had passed, rejecting their request would cause trouble. Even if these students didn't care about it in the future, Flender would certainly make an issue out of it. Thinking of this, Zhao Wuji felt a headache coming on. It seemed that he would have to agree, even if he didn't want to.

"Fine!" Zhao Wuji curled his lips, exhaling a hot breath through his nose. "But I won't be merciful this time. Think carefully—do you still want to fight me?"

Tang San glanced at Xiao Tianyang, and with his encouragement, turned back to Zhao Wuji and replied, "Okay!"

"Then let's start. We'll use the same time for a stick of incense!" Zhao Wuji waved his hand and planted another incense stick on the ground. "Let's begin!"

As soon as he finished speaking, Tang San opened his Purple Demon Eyes. His hands turned jade-like, and he began to manipulate the 24th Bridge on the bright moonlit night. Countless hidden weapons he had crafted floated around him.

Xiao Tianyang took the opportunity to step aside, pulling Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing, who were trying to get closer to watch, away from the scene.

"That's dangerous. If you don't want to get accidentally injured, stay here and watch," Xiao Tianyang's voice rang out.

Ning Rongrong and Zhu Zhuqing, who had initially wanted to break free, were deterred by his words. First, they realized they couldn't break free, and second, they chose to trust Xiao Tianyang. After all, he had just blocked Zhao Wuji's second spirit skill with his own body!

Some of the hidden weapons around Tang San reflected the cold light of the sun, while others appeared ordinary. But what caught Zhao Wuji's attention was that some of those seemingly ordinary weapons made him feel a little threatened!

Xiao Tianyang stepped forward, noticing the situation with a smile while thinking, "Under my guidance, Tang San added a small amount of alloy to some of his hidden weapons. No matter how serious Teacher Zhao is, he won't even realize that these weapons will still cause him trouble!"
