Chapter 64: Chapter 64: The Great Spirit Arena
Dai Mubai and the others looked satisfied, their faces glowing with contentment. Even though they were full—perhaps even a little too full—they felt they could still manage three more bowls of noodles!
"Xiao Tianyang, your scallion noodles are incredible! The aroma alone is enough to make anyone's mouth watery," Dai Mubai exclaimed, patting his stomach. "And that soup! The creamy richness, the way the seafood flavors burst through—I never thought seafood soup could be made like this!"
Xiao Wu, standing nearby, wore an expression of mild dissatisfaction. "It's good, but it's still second best," she muttered under her breath.
Ning Rongrong, though sharing similar sentiments, had a different focus. As the princess of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan, her attention was drawn to something far more significant. "Your dish managed to increase my soul power," she said, her voice tinged with awe. "I even felt signs of a breakthrough. How did you do it?"
Zhu Zhuqing's eyes gleamed with curiosity as she added in her usual cool tone, "The quality this time is noticeably higher than last time. Do you have a method to keep improving?"
Xiao Tianyang waved his hand dismissively. "It's just a small trick, nothing worth mentioning."
"Then, can you teach me?" Ning Rongrong asked, her voice hopeful.
"It's not about whether I can teach you," Xiao Tianyang replied with a faint smile. "It's about whether you're willing to spend time in the kitchen."
Ning Rongrong hesitated, her lips pursed in thought. "I… I'm not sure."
"I am willing," Zhu Zhuqing declared without hesitation, her gaze steady and serious as she looked directly at Xiao Tianyang.
"Then come back to me after you reach level 30," Xiao Tianyang said, setting a condition. "I'm not trying to shirk responsibility, but with your current soul power level, you'd likely collapse before finishing a meal."
Zhu Zhuqing didn't question him. Instead, she asked, "Is this related to the quality of your soul power?"
"Yes," Xiao Tianyang confirmed with a nod.
"Then I understand," she said, her voice firm. She gave him one last glance before turning away. "I'll come to you when I'm ready."
Xiao Tianyang chuckled softly, then turned his teasing gaze to Xiao Wu. "What about you? Don't you want to learn?
Xiao Wu puffed out her chest confidently. "I have Xiao San, and I have you, Brother Tianyang. Why would I need to learn? Besides, didn't Saber learn it too?"
Tang San, who had been quietly observing, finally spoke up. "Brother Tianyang, is it really okay for us to learn?"
"Of course," Xiao Tianyang replied, his lips curling into a smirk. "But you'll have to wait until you reach level 30 too!"
The corner of his mouth twitched slightly as if he found the situation amusing. 'Damn it,' he thought to himself, 'this is the first time I've been treated like some second-rate teacher.'
Saber, who had been silent until now, looked at Xiao Tianyang with a soft expression. "I don't need to learn. I have Tianyang which is enough for me."
Xiao Tianyang's smirk widened, but he quickly masked it with a mock stern expression. "Hmph, Xiao Wu, I'm halving your food portion tonight!"
Xiao Wu's eyes widened in shock. "What? Why?"
"No reason," Xiao Tianyang said with a shrug. "Just because I'm unhappy!"
Without Saber's last remark, he might have let it slide. But the comparison was too stark. 'Look at how others speak of me', he thought, 'and then look at you. Do you even sound human?'

Not long after, Flander approached, his face marked by dark circles under his eyes. Without stopping, he waved a hand and said, "Today's training session is special. Follow me!"
Without a word, the group fell in line and followed him toward Suotuo City.
'So, yesterday's main mission wasn't just a random task,' Xiao Tianyang mused as he walked to the back of the group, his chin resting on his hand. 'It was a preview of what's to come.'
Soon, they arrived in Suotuo City. As they entered, Dai Mubai's expression shifted. "Dean, you're not taking them to that place already, are you?"
"Why not?" Flander replied, glancing at Tang San and the others who had been gazing around with wide-eyed curiosity. "You've met the requirements in terms of combat experience and personal ability. And didn't Xiao Tianyang give you special training yesterday? With that kind of skill, even if you're not invincible, your lives aren't in danger. What, are you afraid?"
Flander's last words were directed at Xiao Tianyang.
"Don't worry," Xiao Tianyang said, his confidence unwavering. "It's not me who should be afraid, but whoever stands against me."
Flander nodded in satisfaction and turned to lead the way.
Ning Rongrong, unable to contain her curiosity, leaned closer to Xiao Tianyang. "Tianyang, what are you and the dean talking about?"
The others, equally puzzled, gathered around. But Xiao Tianyang simply shrugged and pointed to Dai Mubai. "He knows more than I do. Ask him."
Dai Mubai sighed and began to explain. "See that massive building over there? That's the Great Spirit Arena of Suotuo City. It's a place where strength speaks louder than words. You'll encounter all kinds of powerful opponents here, experience the wonders of different techniques, and witness the synergy of various soul rings. It's a battleground exclusively for soul masters."
By the time they reached the entrance of the Great Spirit Arena, Flander turned to address the group. "Dai Mubai, explain the rules to them."
Dai Mubai nodded and began his explanation.
The rules were straightforward: there were three combat modes—solo, duo, and team battles. Points were earned through victories, and accumulating enough points would allow them to upgrade their Spirit Fighter Badge. The badges ranged from Iron, Copper, Silver, Gold, Amethyst, Sapphire, Ruby, and Diamond.
Xiao Tianyang listened intently, absorbing every detail.
When Dai Mubai finished, Flander stepped forward. "Now that you understand the basics, here's your mission: before you graduate, you must obtain the Silver Spirit Fighter Badge."
Xiao Wu muttered under her breath, "That doesn't sound too hard."
Dai Mubai shook his head. "It's not as simple as you think. The matching system here is unique. A level 21 soul master could easily be paired against a level 29 opponent. The gap between them is significant. When I was at level 29, I maintained an undefeated streak, but once I reached level 35, things got tougher. My opponents were all level 40 and above…"
Ning Rongrong frowned. "So, how many points do you have now?"
"29 wins and 27 losses, totaling 2 points," Dai Mubai replied. "Fatty is doing slightly better with 21 wins and 12 losses, totaling 9 points."
The group couldn't help but glance at Xiao Tianyang. He was an anomaly, capable of defeating soul masters far above his level. Even a level 31 versus a level 39 opponent wouldn't faze him.
"Alright," Flander said, cutting through the chatter. "Now that you know the rules, let's go inside. You'll figure out the rest as you go."
After paying the admission fee, they entered the arena. The interior was dimly lit but spacious, with a row of arched windows offering a view of the ongoing duels.
Xiao Tianyang took in the surroundings, noting the Colosseum-like structure. The circular arena was surrounded by tiered seating, where spectators watched the battles unfold.
