Chapter 144: Gravity Training

After receiving their rewards, everyone returned to their respective teams, with Yang Potian rejoining Team Two.

Once back, Yang Potian spoke directly to Teacher Li Xiang: "Teacher Li, there's still a month before the advancement rounds. I plan to take the team back to the Broken Clan for training, so we won't be returning to the Heaven Dou Royal Academy for now."

Li Xiang and Teacher Anya nodded in agreement before heading back to the academy on their own.

Yang Tianyue, Yang Potian's younger sister, looked curious. "Big brother, we've done so well—can't we relax a bit? Do you already have another training plan?"

With a gentle, indulgent look, Yang Potian replied, "Though you all performed well, the opponents in the finals will be even stronger. I'll be putting you all through some extreme pressure training, aiming for a rapid improvement over the next month."

"What's 'extreme pressure training'? I've never heard of that before," asked Yang Tianyue, intrigued.

"You'll find out soon enough," he said with a smirk. He then turned to Niu Meng and asked, "Is Uncle busy right now? Please let him know we need his assistance in the Broken Clan for the upcoming training."

Meanwhile, Yu Xiaogang led Tang San and the rest of Team One back to the academy. Both Tang San and Yu Xiaogang were visibly disappointed, reeling from the crushing defeat in the last match.

Gathering everyone, Yu Xiaogang addressed Tang San and the team. "Xiao San, this was only one match. I hope you won't dwell on it too much. The opponents may have been strong, but it doesn't mean we're out of hope for victory. I'd like you to analyze our opponents and point out any weaknesses you observed in ourselves."

After a moment of contemplation, Tang San began, "To be honest, I never expected Team Two to be as powerful as they were, especially Yang Ping'an—his combat ability far exceeds that of a typical low-level Spirit King."

Yu Xiaogang nodded. "Yang Ping'an's performance was exceptional; his strength may indeed make him the strongest individual in the Heaven Dou Division."

Tang San, after some thought, continued, "Teacher, fighting against Team Two felt odd. They barely wasted any moves during the fight. Although their regular battles didn't reveal much about their skills, when they did go on the offensive, their power was overwhelming."

"It felt as though they had a refined command over their spirit energy," he added. "Every skill seemed perfectly timed, almost as if planned in advance. It was like that old saying: 'still as a mountain, but swift as a rabbit.' Their energy usage was meticulous, like they were using techniques entirely different from ours."

Yu Xiaogang agreed. "Yes, that's exactly it. At the end of the match, each of Team Two's members had at least half their spirit energy left. I can't recall seeing any Spirit King use their energy so efficiently. This level of control is usually seen only among Spirit Emperors or Spirit Saints."

"Teacher, do you have any idea how they're training to achieve such mastery, even at the Spirit Elder and Spirit Master levels?" asked Tang San.

After a moment's pause, all eyes turned to Tai Long and Bai Xiaofei, who were once part of Team Two and knew them best. Exchanging hesitant glances, Tai Long finally spoke up. "To be honest, I'm not sure what kind of training our older brother Yang Potian has them doing. We left the team a year ago, and they've also been away from the Royal Academy for nearly a year. I think he may have set up some special training for them."

Once as strong as Niu Meng, Tai Long and Bai Xiaofei had since fallen behind. Even their combat ability now paled in comparison to his.

Finding himself at a loss, Yu Xiaogang sighed and turned back to Tang San. "Xiao San, is there anything else you noticed?"

Tang San nodded. "One of the biggest surprises was Ye Lingling. I didn't expect that as a support spirit master, she would have offensive abilities. She broke my Blue Silver Cage on her own, and even managed to wound Xiao Wu. All of our strategies against her failed. Teacher, do you have any idea what her move was?"

Yu Xiaogang shook his head with a sigh. "That was likely a self-created spirit ability. Only Ye Lingling would know the details."

Hearing this, Ning Rongrong's eyes lit up with admiration for Ye Lingling's skills.

Tang San went on, "Team Two's teamwork was impeccable. Their timing was so precise that we barely had time to react. It was as if they'd practiced each move repeatedly. Xiao Fei and Ning Heng's defeats happened the same way."

"Teacher, how should we prepare for the finals?" he asked finally.

Yu Xiaogang regarded them all. "For the next month, I'll be arranging combat training to improve your coordination. You'll be sparring with Erlong, so prepare to grow stronger."

Hearing that they'd be sparring with Liu Erlong, a fighter known for her ruthless battle style, a wave of apprehension swept through the team.

Tang San then said, "Teacher, I'd like to train alone. Fighting against Team Two gave me some ideas I want to explore."

Yu Xiaogang, understanding his prized pupil, nodded in approval. Tang San's experience was rich, yet Blue Silver Grass had been a constant limiting factor, especially against fire-type spirit masters.

Meanwhile, Yang Potian and his group returned to the Broken Clan. Just a day later, his uncle Niu Mang arrived, puzzled.

"Potian, aren't you supposed to be preparing for the finals? Why did you call me here?"

Looking at his uncle, Yang Potian explained, "The tournament is just one event. I want to ask for your help in training everyone. It'll benefit us all."

"What do you need me for?" Niu Mang asked, raising an eyebrow. "You're not planning to pit me against them, are you? I am a Spirit Douluo, after all."

Yang Potian chuckled. "Of course not, Uncle. They're not ready to face you directly. I only need you to create some pressure for them."

"Pressure? What kind of pressure?" asked Niu Mang, his curiosity piqued.

Yang Potian grinned and led everyone to a training field of plum blossom stakes.

Yang Potian addressed everyone: "For the upcoming training, I'll need my uncle to create a gravity field over the entire plum blossom stake platform. The center will simulate the pressure of a Spirit Emperor, with pressure gradually decreasing toward the edge, where it'll be at Spirit Elder level."

"For the next month, everyone will spend as much time as possible on these stakes—whether training, meditating, or even drinking water. You'll be allowed breaks only for bathroom use and herbal baths. This high-pressure training will help you adapt and strengthen under these conditions, leading to significant improvement by month's end."

The group exchanged uncertain glances, realizing how grueling the training would be, but they complied without question, trusting in Yang Potian's guidance.

Niu Mang, Potian's uncle, looked especially put out. Called in to help by his nephew, he hadn't expected to become a "walking gravity field." However, he soon had everyone in place as Yang Potian continued, "Everyone should find the pressure level that challenges you but doesn't overwhelm you, training in that zone and pushing past your limits regularly. You've all just finished a month of combat, so now is the time to absorb what you learned, combine it with meditation, and break through to new levels."

Curious, Yang Tianyue asked, "Big brother, are you going to train with us?"

Shaking his head, Yang Potian replied, "I've reached a level where this method no longer challenges me. My spirit power and physical resilience are both too high, so I need something more intense."

With a soul power of sixty-seven and a body as resilient as his uncle's, Yang Potian could no longer gain much from typical training. Since their last hunt for a spirit ring together, Yang Potian had gifted his uncle a ten-thousand-year spirit herb, which had allowed Niu Mang to progress significantly as a pure defense-type Spirit Douluo.

Niu Mang, still slightly skeptical, leaned over and asked, "Potian, are you sure this kind of training will work? Why hasn't anyone thought of this before?"

Yang Potian chuckled. "It works, but it requires someone like you, with high spirit power and control over gravity, ideally at Spirit Saint or higher. Not to mention, it also requires access to specialized herbal baths; otherwise, long-term exposure could cause permanent organ damage."

Niu Mang sighed in resignation but couldn't help muttering to himself about his time's apparent lack of value. Yang Potian, meanwhile, was reminded of the Sea God's Light, a divine method he'd once learned about. While this training setup was inspired by it, it lacked the divine strength that made the Sea God's Light so effective and safe, even without herbal baths.

As Yang Potian and his team trained, Ning Fengzhi, accompanied by Sword Douluo and Ning Rongrong, visited the Nine Heart Begonia family bearing generous gifts. Ning Fengzhi had come with a clear objective: if they could learn the self-created technique demonstrated by Ye Lingling, they'd offer even greater rewards in return—soul bones, rare herbs, or gold soul coins, whatever Elder Ye Renxin wanted.

Caught off guard, Ye Renxin couldn't understand why the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan's leader had come to see him. A healer of decent renown, he certainly wasn't used to such attention.

Through further discussion, Ning Fengzhi explained. During the recent Spirit Master Tournament, Ye Lingling had revealed a self-created technique with astonishing power—one capable of injuring even Xiao Wu from Team One, a remarkable feat for a healer whose spirit abilities were exclusively supportive. If Seven Treasure Glazed Tile spirit masters could learn such a skill, their combat effectiveness would rise significantly, addressing their vulnerability as a support-based sect.

After a pause, Ye Renxin shook his head. "Ye Lingling spends almost all her time training with Team Two and rarely returns home. She developed this technique while training, so it isn't something the Nine Heart Begonia family has. It's likely a skill she learned while with Team Two."

Ning Fengzhi and Sword Douluo exchanged meaningful glances. They both knew of the connection between Ye Lingling and Yang Potian and wondered: could it be Yang Potian himself who devised the technique?
