Dragon Ball Human

Chapter 118: Chapter 118: Confirmation

Was everything—meeting Jiora, the Rabbit gang, the Red Ribbon Army, Bulma, and Tights—just a dream?

Yamiru pondered as he struggled to clear his foggy mind.

Propping himself up, he rubbed his sore head and brushed off the sand clinging to his face. Turning around, he saw the vast expanse of the ocean and half of a passenger ship stranded on the beach. Scattered across the sand were various items: cans, tools, clothing, trash… Yamiru frowned as he tried to recall what had happened.

"A storm?" he murmured.

The shipwreck left only the stern half of the vessel on the beach, a testament to the violent storm that had struck the previous night. Even Yamiru, strong as he was, had been thrown against something hard in the chaos and knocked unconscious. The fact that he had survived to wake up again was nothing short of a miracle.

Just as he was thinking this, he noticed two figures walking toward him from the direction of the shipwreck, waving their hands.

"Survivors like me, washed ashore by the current?"

His golden eyes flashed as the thought crossed his mind.

In an instant, Yamiru used his keen perception to scrutinize the two figures energy signatures. Behind them, on the far side of the wreckage, he detected about a dozen more faint human energies clustered together.

"…"

Focusing on the group of energy signatures, Yamiru confirmed that none belonged to Shen, Tien Shinhan, or Tao Pai Pai.

Tien Shinhan's unique energy, distinct and easily recognizable, was absent. Neither Shen's nor Tao Pai Pai's formidable presences were among them. The dozen survivors were all ordinary people with either normal or below-average energy levels.

"There's no way those three could have died in a shipwreck like this. That means they didn't wash up here."

The realization sparked a glimmer of hope in Yamiru's mind.

"Or perhaps they abandoned ship in the chaos. The hovering ability of the Bukujutsu, combined with Tao Pai Pai's column-riding technique, would've been enough to take them directly to the southern mainland… or…"

As he contemplated, he scanned the surroundings with his heightened vision.

Everywhere he looked, he saw clusters of white energy, but their height and range indicated they all belonged to wild animals crawling on the ground.

"Hey, young boy! That's great—you're okay!"

The two figures from the shipwreck approached him, visibly relieved to see that Yamiru appeared unharmed.

"Come on, let's join the others. Maybe your family is there," one of them said, reaching out to take Yamiru's arm. "Don't worry, everything will be fine."

But as he grabbed Yamiru's arm and pulled, Yamiru didn't budge.

"Have you seen two middle-aged men with mustaches?" Yamiru asked calmly, tilting his head slightly. "One of them wears sunglasses, and the other is tall with a black braid down his back."

"Uh…" The man holding Yamiru's arm frowned, finding the boy's tone oddly mature and unchildlike. "Are they your family? Let's regroup with the others first. Be a good kid."

Yamiru shook off the man's grip, losing interest in continuing the conversation.

The woman who had accompanied the man squatted down and gently reassured Yamiru, "Don't be scared, everything will be fine. No one over there knows each other very well, so I can't say for sure if the people you're looking for are with us…" She trailed off as the boy ignored her completely and walked away in the direction of the shipwreck.

"What a rude little brat!" the man muttered, clenching his fists as he watched Yamiru's retreating figure. The strength the boy had displayed earlier when shaking off his grip had startled him.

"Let it go. He's just scared. After all, he's just a child," the woman said, trying to calm the man down. "We should head back and discuss with the others how to contact rescue. Who knows if anyone even lives on this island…" She sighed pessimistically before following the man back toward the group.

Yamiru approached the wreckage of the passenger ship and took in the scene of the dozen or so people gathered there.

A quick glance revealed a muscular bear-headed humanoid with gray-white fur, a thin, gloomy young man, a large elephant-nosed individual wearing glasses, and the rest were women. Among them were an animal-like woman with fur and a tail, a scantily clad, blue-skinned, seductive-looking monster-like woman, and several ordinary human females.

As Yamiru drew closer, the elephant-nosed man in glasses, who seemed to be one of the leaders, waved at him with a friendly expression.

Yamiru, however, merely walked past, giving them a glance before continuing on his way.

"Where's he going?"

"Is he looking for his family?"

"Someone bring him back! It's too dangerous for a kid to wander off like that!"

The group was baffled by Yamiru's actions. Under these circumstances, a child his age should have been clinging to the group for protection, not heading off alone.

"Hey, kid! Don't wander around!" the gloomy young man called out, stepping out of the group to chase after Yamiru.

The young man reached out to grab Yamiru's shoulder, only to be thrown off balance as the boy shrugged him off with surprising force. The young man landed on the sand, thankfully unhurt.

"Don't worry about me. Focus on figuring out how to take care of yourselves," Yamiru said calmly.

Having survived as a wildling in the jungle and later trained in survival skills by the special forces he had rescued, Yamiru needed no help from these city dwellers. On top of that, his experiences with the Red Ribbon Army and Crane School had honed his mental resilience. If stranded on a deserted island, Yamiru could easily live healthily for years.

"Hey! Where are you going?" the man from earlier shouted from the group. "Stop wandering off!"

The man chased after him again, but Yamiru felt a little helpless. His miniature body made it too easy for people to mistake him for a child. He bent down, picked up the gloomy young man he had thrown onto the sand earlier, and hurled him at the man who had been chasing him, knocking both of them down. Yamiru spoke coldly, "I'll say it again: don't bother me!"

He still hadn't figured out where Crane Hermit and Tao Pai Pai were. If they were deep in the island, and Tao Pai Pai came looking for him in a bad mood, it wouldn't be impossible for him to kill everyone on the spot. Yamiru wasn't interested in wasting time with these people, so he decided to ignore them.

However, sometimes adults only speak to children when they've forced them into obedience.

As Yamiru turned to leave after knocking down the two men, the tallest and most muscular figure in the group, a gray-furred bear-headed man, approached.

This was an elderly anthropomorphic bear, likely in his fifties or sixties, yet still towering and imposing. As he walked on the beach, his giant, deep footprints marked the sand.

"Kid, if you don't listen at a time like this…" the bear-headed elder's tone darkened, clearly upset. "You're being very unreasonable!"

"Yeah, stop causing trouble," the women behind him murmured. They were all anxious about finding rescue and worried about the boy's uncooperative behavior. "Big Bear, just teach him a lesson and he'll learn."

When the bear-headed elder reached Yamiru, he was more than three times the boy's height, and his shadow completely engulfed Yamiru.

"Phew…"

Yamiru sighed in resignation, looking up from within the shadow. His golden eyes gleamed brightly.

"Hm?" The elder was taken aback by the boy's intense gaze. Before he could react, Yamiru leapt up, reaching eye level with the elder. The boy raised his arm, which didn't appear particularly strong, and landed a punch squarely on the elder's massive face.

Bang! The elder staggered from the intense pain, feeling weightless for a moment. He spun around and crashed heavily to the ground, his head spinning. Yamiru then stepped on his chest and kicked him away, sending the elder tumbling several meters before finally coming to a halt on the sand.

"Don't mess with me! Or I'll kill you all!" Yamiru threatened, his voice cold and firm.

After delivering the kick, he continued walking along the beach, leaving the group behind.

A small boy had knocked down a giant like the bear-headed elder with a single punch? It was simply unbelievable.

"Forget it, don't provoke that kid…"

"He's really something else…"

"He's not just strange… he's terrifying…"

The group exchanged nervous glances, all too wary to approach Yamiru again.

---

"First, I need to confirm whether Crane Hermit and Tao Pai Pai are on this island. If they're not, I'll figure out the direction and build a raft to head out to sea. I should be able to drift toward the southern land… maybe?"

Walking along the edge of the island, Yamiru used his Golden Gaze to scan his surroundings. If Crane Hermit was hiding on the island, watching him and thinking he was safe, it would be better to figure that out now, rather than getting his hopes up for nothing.
