Chapter 131: Chapter 131: Let the Cooler One Handle It

At the moment Jaco pulled out his energy pistol — capable of possibly executing even a Super Saiyan God but let's pause the scene and rewind to yesterday around noon. It was the kind of time after lunch when you could take a nap or go for a walk. Yamiru was lazily napping in the forest near Mount Paozu, seemingly refusing to wake.

Location: Dr. Omori's Island

Jaco had been stranded on this island for two days due to an accident.

He was a patrolman from the Galactic Patrol, one of the 38 elite warriors under the Galactic King's command. Jaco had received a notification from headquarters that a spacecraft carrying a Saiyan warrior was heading to a remote planet within his jurisdiction. According to calculations, it would land the next day on a distant planet called Earth. In the name of preserving galactic peace, Jaco had set out. However, he became too engrossed in watching movies during his journey, accidentally crashed into the moon, and was forced to make an emergency landing on Dr. Omori's island.

Because of the crash, his spacecraft was damaged. Yesterday, while shopping for repair materials in the nearest city with Dr. Omori, they inadvertently got involved in a brawl, resulting in Jaco being placed on a government wanted list. However, they also met Tights, who was escaping from some local thugs.

Though Jaco's ship was somewhat repaired and operational within the constraints of Earth's environment, he was in no hurry since his target wouldn't arrive until the next day.

However, their peaceful time was disrupted by unexpected visitors.

A group of government officials arrived on the island, ordering Dr. Omori to vacate the premises. Jaco, being wanted, was also recognized.

Dr. Omori was furious at the government's high-handedness. They had invited him to work on the time machine project years ago, leading to an accident that caused his wife's death. Now that the project was shelved, they were treating him as disposable, suddenly remembering this obscure island just to evict him.

Jaco, on the other hand, was even less impressed by Earth's police. Arrest him? How rude. He was a Galactic Patrolman, an elite! These Earthlings—wait. Out of the corner of his eye, Jaco noticed something unusual in the sky. His eagle-like sharp vision locked onto a strange sight.

"Dr. Omori, that rocket doesn't look right," Jaco said, squinting at the horizon.

"What?!" Dr. Omori snapped out of his argument with the officers, turning to see the wobbling rocket. Its erratic movement indicated a failed launch.

"It's starting to fall!" Jaco shouted.

Dr. Omori's face turned pale. Only he and Jaco knew that the person onboard wasn't the idol the news had been promoting, but Tights, who had been selected as a stand-in.

The rocket was plummeting, estimated to crash in less than two minutes.

If it hit the ground, a frail girl like Tights had no chance of survival.

"Can we save her?" Dr. Omori asked, panicked.

"We'll try!" Jaco responded, already sprinting toward his spacecraft. Thanks to Tights's generosity in funding repairs, the craft had just enough power to function. Jaco swiftly jumped into the pilot seat. "Dr. Omori, get in! I need your help!"

The government officers, oblivious to the urgency, blocked their way.

Frustrated, Jaco took matters into his own hands, efficiently knocking out all the officers. However, this delay cost them precious seconds.

Inside the craft, Dr. Omori stared at the rapidly descending rocket. "It's too late, Jaco! Yamiru... there's no chance for another date with Tights..."

"Yamiru? Who's that?" Jaco asked. "A friend of hers?"

"A good friend, yes. But is this really the time for this discussion?"

"There's no other way," Jaco said, maintaining his composure as a Galactic Patrolman should in a crisis. "Dr. Omori, you mentioned that your failed time machine can stop time, right? How long can it hold?"

"Uh... at most, about 50 seconds!" Dr. Omori stammered, shocked. "But using it didn't violates Galactic Law? Manipulating time—"

"Do we have any other choice?" Jaco interrupted.

Grabbing Dr. Omori, he activated his emergency thrusters, propelling them to the other side of the island, where a black chamber — the failed time machine — was stored.

"Hurry!" Jaco urged as they entered the chamber.

Dr. Omori, without needing further encouragement, expertly operated the complex controls and mechanisms.

Beeping sounds filled the air as the time machine hummed to life.

"Alright... activating now!"

Dr. Omori slammed the master lever down. Instantly, everything outside the chamber froze. Time, matter, and energy all came to a standstill. As Jaco and Dr. Omori stepped out of the machine, they found the world eerily silent and motionless. Even the breeze hung suspended, its tendrils tangible to the touch.

At the dock, the frozen, panicked faces of the officers were almost comical.

"Hey, Jaco, isn't this really not the time to waste?"

Dr. Omori was already back in the spacecraft, but when he glanced over his shoulder, he saw Jaco making faces at the frozen police officers.

"Was he a child?" Dr. Omori was speechless.

Jaco leapt into the pilot seat with a speed too fast for Dr. Omori to catch, responding nonchalantly, "No worries. With 50 seconds, that's more than enough for an elite like me!"

"Always with the 'elite' this and 'elite' that..."

"Takeoff!"

Boom. the spacecraft left a blazing trail in the sky, arriving just in time before the rocket hit the ground as time began to flow again.

Jaco climbed atop the spacecraft, leapt onto the plummeting rocket, and pried open the hatch. Inside, he found an astronaut and Tights sitting side by side with helmets on. The astronaut looked utterly hopeless, while Tights seemed unnervingly calm. Her carefree demeanor was unexpectedly similar to her sister Bulma.

Time resumed.

The astronaut was startled by the sudden appearance of a "masked weirdo" at the hatch, but Tights simply smiled and said, "Ha! I knew you'd come to save me, Jaco."

---

Jaco saved Tights, who had used all her savings to repair his spacecraft. As a bonus, his act also cleared his wanted status with Earth's government.

After an eventful but safe day, the next dawned bright and sunny. Tights, in high spirits, donned a swimsuit and swam in the ocean, while Dr. Omori sat on the shore with a small stool.

Suddenly, he noticed Tights playing excitedly with something in the water. Dr. Omori squinted and saw a shark swimming around her. Initially, he panicked and turned to call for Jaco, but upon closer inspection, he realized the shark wasn't hostile. Instead, it frolicked around Tights like a happy puppy.

"That shark...?"

Dr. Omori finally recognized it as the same shark that had saved Yamiru a few months ago.

When Tights grew tired of playing, she emerged from the water, dripping wet, and wrapped herself in a towel.

"Wow, for some reason, this shark seems to really like me," she said with surprise.

After learning from Dr. Omori that the shark was Yamiru's friend, Tights's expression turned to one of realization.

She smiled faintly, glancing into the distance without saying a word.

After a while, Tights's peripheral vision caught sight of Jaco, perched on a high ridge like a needle piercing the sky. He stood motionless, staring in the same direction as her, as if he had been there for a long time.

Following Tights's gaze, Dr. Omori noticed Jaco too.

"Why is he just standing there? Is he still sulking about that portrait?" Dr. Omori asked. Previously, the government's wanted poster of Jaco had depicted him so hideously that he had been brooding over it ever since.

"It's not that," Tights replied. "He said he's here to carry out his original mission on Earth... something about monitoring."

"Original mission... Oh, right! Now that you mention it, he did say something about a terrifying guy coming to Earth! I completely forgot. Could it really be true?" Dr. Omori exclaimed.

"Who knows. Maybe aliens just have too much free time," Tights mused. "That Jiora guy was also some kind of alien cop chasing a criminal all the way to Earth, only to have his ship malfunction... Looks like alien spacecraft are pretty lousy! I've decided—I'll use this as the foundational setting for my future novels." The aspiring writer murmured to herself, determined to become a best-selling author.

"Look! There it is!" Jaco suddenly pointed to the sky, shouting.

Tights and Dr. Omori followed his gaze and saw a streak of white cutting through the heavens, descending like a meteor.

"It's real..." Dr. Omori muttered, cold sweat forming on his brow.

"Ah!" Tights noticed Jaco already in the spacecraft, preparing for liftoff. "Jaco, take us with you!"

Jaco refused. "This is work, elite work! It's dangerous."

Tights smiled. "But since this is Earth's crisis, don't we, as Earthlings, have the right to know?" Without waiting for permission, she climbed into the seat behind him.

"You just want inspiration for your writing, don't you?" Dr. Omori climbed in after her. "Still, she has a point."

"Earthlings are so stubborn," Jaco muttered. "Hold on tight! Let's catch up to that Saiyan in one go."

Boom! The Galactic Patrol's spacecraft roared through the sky.

"By the way, Jaco, this dangerous alien you mentioned — the Saiyan — what kind of creature is it?"

"Saiyans aim to conquer planets, selling them to some terrifying figure behind the scenes. But their most terrifying trait is their violent, warlike nature. Even the Galactic Patrol can't handle them, and not even annihilation bombs work against their monstrous physiology.

"For planets like Earth, dominated by weak humans, they usually send children to exterminate the population gradually. Saiyans have a long childhood, staying in a small form to deceive their opponents. Once they reach youth, they rapidly grow into a battle-ready physique and almost stop aging, destroying everything in their path. As for their appearance, they look just like Earthlings, except for having a tail."

"Wow... Their biology sounds tailor-made for combat. How terrifying," Tights murmured.

In less than a minute, Jaco's spacecraft caught up to the falling "meteor".

A deafening crash echoed from ahead as the Saiyan pod landed.

Dr. Omori grew nervous. According to Jaco, Saiyans were merciless. Peering down, he was startled to see the small size of the pod resting at the bottom of a massive crater. The advanced technology reinforced the terrifying image of these aliens.

"Wait, isn't that... Yamiru?" Tights pressed her face against the transparent window of the spacecraft, spotting a panting black-haired boy standing at the crater's edge. Though she couldn't clearly see his face, Tights immediately recognized him as Yamiru, whom she hadn't seen in three months. Her gaze shifted to the old man on the opposite side of the crater.

Pushing open the canopy, Tights called down, "Hey, Yamiru! Is this the Paozu Mountain you were looking for?"

Yamiru looked up in surprise.

Son Gohan leaped into the crater.

Yamiru followed.

Jaco overheard and shook his head, parking the spacecraft before leaping down with a stylish spin. Striking a pose, he began explaining.

The Saiyan child broke free from Son Gohan's grasp, his wild instincts taking over as he headbutted the elder.

Son Gohan, unwilling to hurt the child, used soft techniques to neutralize the force, tumbling with the monkey-tailed boy to the ground.

---

Now, back to the present, Galactic Patrolman Jaco drew his energy pistol, aiming it at the monkey-tailed child in Son Gohan's arms.

"Step aside. Let the professional handle this."

Son Gohan stood up, holding the child securely. "You said this boy was sent to destroy Earth, but I don't sense even a hint of malice from him." The white-bearded elder chuckled, maintaining a firm yet gentle grip. "He's just mischievous. Besides, I doubt a child like this could destroy Earth."

"You're too naive, old man," Jaco replied, unyielding. His pistol remained trained on the child. "The ferocity and power of Saiyans are beyond your imagination."

Tights remarked, "But this elderly man was able to subdue that Saiyan child on his own, wasn't he?"

While she spoke, Dr. Omori noticed something intriguing — Tights had also seen it. When Son Gohan refused Jaco, Yamiru instinctively took two steps closer to him.

Has Yamiru made up his mind...

Dr. Omori pondered briefly before addressing Son Gohan. "Sir, it's not that I distrust you, but I'd rather place my faith in Jaco's capabilities and the judgment of a higher civilization far beyond Earth's."

The keen-eyed doctor noted that among everyone present, only Yamiru's expression remained entirely unchanged, unaffected by his words.

Not the slightest reaction.

"But," Dr. Omori continued calmly, "as a scientist, I'd rather believe in what I see with my own eyes and rely on my own judgment." He turned to Jaco. "An Earthling's judgment."

"..." Jaco slowly lowered his gun, seemingly conceding. "Fine."

"Does that mean you agree?" Tights asked with a smile.

Meanwhile, Son Gohan could feel the little one in his arms struggling relentlessly. The sheer energy of this child astounded him.

And then, with one moment of hesitation, Son Gohan, cautious not to injure the child's delicate bones, eased his grip just enough for the monkey-tailed boy to break free. Like a wild beast, the boy screamed and launched attack after attack on everyone nearby.

Jaco kept his distance, clearly uninterested in getting involved.

Son Gohan carefully neutralized the child's attacks. Yet even Tights and Dr. Omori, watching from the sidelines, could see that the old man's strength far exceeded the boy's. His apparent struggle was simply due to his deliberate efforts not to harm the child.

"I'll give it a shot!" Yamiru suddenly stepped forward.

This is my chance to bully the weakest version of Son Goku. No way I'm passing this up!

Son Gohan was surprised but stepped aside, allowing the Saiyan boy to focus on Yamiru.

The monkey-tailed boy locked eyes with Yamiru's golden gaze, growled, and charged forward on all fours.

Bang! The moment they collided, Yamiru immediately regretted it.

What the hell?!

How is he this strong?!

Now I know how those big guys I knocked out must've felt.

Yamiru was stunned. Fresh from Planet Vegeta, this child version of Son Goku already possessed overwhelming strength.

It didn't make sense. By his estimation, his current strength should put him ahead of early-series Goku, at least six to four, if not seven to three. Yet, taking that head-on charge, the child didn't feel much weaker than the Ten Battle power version of Goku he remembered.

Could it be that during his years on Paozu Mountain, Son Gohan never actually taught Goku anything beyond some basic moves?

There was no time to ponder. The monkey-tailed boy's attacks grew fiercer with each clash, as if his natural instincts were helping him learn moves on the spot. Yamiru nearly coughed up blood.

What kind of combat talent is this?!

When fighting Son Gohan, the gap in power had been too vast for the boy to pick up anything. But against Yamiru, the closer matchup allowed the Saiyan child to absorb techniques through experience.

The vague memories of his home planet and parents lingering in the boy's mind seemed to fuel this instinct.

"...This kid really is a monster," Jaco muttered, watching from a safe distance. A tinge of jealousy flickered across his face.

"Is this really just a child?" Dr. Omori marveled, stunned by both the Saiyan boy's power and Yamiru's skill.

Son Gohan, too, was surprised as he stroked his beard. "I sensed this boy's extraordinary aura from the start, but this... This is beyond what I expected."

An hour later, a completely exhausted Yamiru lay sprawled on the ground, defeated.

"Was it worth going all out?" Tights helped him up, clearly puzzled. "If you couldn't handle it, you could've just let the old man take over."

By then, Son Gohan had already scooped up the equally drained monkey-tailed boy, who had fallen asleep in his arms. The child, drenched in sweat, emitted a pure and innocent scent unique to young children.

Son Gohan refused to let prejudice cloud his judgment of such a young, ignorant child. It went against his principles.

"You saw it too, Jaco," Dr. Omori said to the Galactic Patrolman, who had been silently observing. "This child alone, even if he's a Saiyan, couldn't possibly destroy Earth. Maybe the Saiyans made a mistake and sent a child with no real power. Or perhaps our Earthly experts are just stronger, haha..."

Dr. Omori chuckled awkwardly, but Jaco wasn't amused.

Jaco looked up at the darkening evening sky and suddenly asked, "Dr. Omori, how many days until the next full moon on Earth?"
