Dragon Ball: The Strongest Training

Chapter 11: The Cat Sage

The man glanced at Krillin, his expression stern as he said, "Outsider, leave Korin Sanctuary."

Krillin turned toward the voice and saw a hunter dressed in a traditional Native American-style outfit. He was muscular, holding a spear at the ready, prepared to attack at any moment.

Observing the man for a moment, Krillin smiled and said, "You must be Upa. Goku mentioned you. He said you and your father are the guardians of Korin Tower."

Hearing this, Upa asked, "You're one of Goku's friends?"

"Goku is my best friend. We're even martial arts brothers. Just call me Krillin."

Relaxing his defensive posture, Upa smiled. "If you're a friend of Goku, then you're my friend too. Sorry about earlier—I was just trying to scare off intruders."

"No worries," Krillin replied with a light smile.

"Are you here to challenge Korin Tower?"

"That's right. I came to ask Master Korin to guide me in my martial arts journey."

"Korin Tower is extremely tall. For hundreds of years, many have tried to climb it but failed. Only Master Roshi and Goku have made it to the top," Upa said, sounding somewhat discouraged.

Krillin laughed. "Don't worry. If Goku could do it, I can too." He added silently to himself, Though I'll just fly up.

Still concerned, Upa said, "The weather isn't great right now. Why don't you come to my house and rest first? It's never too late to climb after you recover your strength."

"Thanks, Upa, but I'm fine. You should head home. I'm starting now," Krillin replied.

Looking up at the towering structure, Krillin smirked. With a burst of Bukujutsu (Flight Technique), he shot upward like a white streak, vanishing in an instant. Upa stood there, stunned, watching Krillin's figure disappear into the sky.

The higher Krillin ascended, the thinner the air became, and the clouds around him became dense and misty. Soon, a spherical building came into view. Krillin grinned, knowing he had arrived.

With a soft thud, he landed on the top of Korin Tower. There he saw a chubby white cat with narrow, slit-like eyes, whiskers protruding from each side of its mouth, and three eyebrows on either side of its head. The cat held a wooden staff. Beside it stood a pudgy man with spiky hair, dressed in traditional Japanese attire: a striped kimono, wooden clogs, and a katana at his waist.

Smiling politely, Krillin greeted them, "Master Korin, Yajirobe, hello!"

Master Korin wiped sweat from his brow, thinking, I already sensed his immense power when he fought Piccolo. His strength back then was terrifying. And now, he reached the top of the tower so quickly… it seems he wasn't even using his full power before.

Still, Korin felt relieved. Thank goodness he's Master Roshi's disciple and seems like a good person. Otherwise, this level of power would be a disaster.

Korin nodded slightly. Yajirobe, however, wasn't as composed. His legs trembled, and his voice quivered as he stammered, "K-Krillin, w-what are you doing here?"

Ignoring Yajirobe's fear, Krillin bowed respectfully to Korin. "Master Korin, I've come to ask for your guidance in martial arts."

"You're far stronger than me. There's nothing I can teach you," Korin replied calmly.

Krillin disagreed. "A true master doesn't need to be stronger. You've lived for over 800 years, and your understanding of martial arts must be unparalleled."

"Fine. First, take a Senzu Bean to recover your strength," Korin said, tossing Krillin a shriveled bean.

Krillin caught it and examined it closely. It resembled a common soybean from his previous life but radiated a powerful vitality.

"System, scan the Senzu Bean," Krillin instructed.

Ding! Scanning…

Senzu Bean

Energy Contained: 500 points (fixed)

Effect: Restores stamina, heals all injuries instantly, sustains the body for 10 days.

Krillin grinned. "Finally, a Senzu Bean! What a treasure."

He swallowed it, and a wave of vitality coursed through his body. His fatigue vanished, and he felt stronger than ever.

"Krillin, release all your ki. Let me see the extent of your power," Korin instructed.

Krillin adjusted his stance, then unleashed his full energy. A tremendous aura radiated from him, growing stronger by the second.

"Enough! Enough!" Yajirobe shouted, overwhelmed by the pressure. He trembled as he backed away.

Korin nodded, signaling for Krillin to stop. "You've grasped the basics of ki. Roshi has done well as your teacher. However, your strength far surpasses mine, so I can't teach you much. All I can offer are suggestions."

Krillin nodded, listening attentively as Korin shared his insights.

Over the next few days, Krillin practiced under Korin's guidance, refining his techniques and addressing weaknesses. The more they trained, the more Korin marveled at Krillin's talent. Despite his youth, Krillin's depth of understanding was extraordinary, as if he had lived for centuries.

One day, Krillin asked playfully, "Master Korin, aren't you tired of eating Senzu Beans all the time?"

"Ridiculous! A hundred years ago, I had a fish. Its flavor… ah, unforgettable!" Korin purred nostalgically, his eyes sparkling. "I miss the days when I could go down to the world below to catch fish."

Hearing this, Krillin chuckled. Perfect opportunity!

He pulled out a fresh fish and dangled it in front of Korin, who instantly perked up. His nose twitched, and his eyes lit up as he pounced on the fish like a starving predator. Devouring it in seconds, he exclaimed, "Delicious! This is the taste I've missed!"

Krillin smirked. "Master Korin, do you have any Senzu Beans left? How about trading them for more fish?"

"Fish… for Senzu Beans?" Korin seemed incredulous. "They're just beans, good for filling my stomach."

"Exactly. How many do you have?"

After rummaging around, Korin brought out three large jars. "This is all that's left. Yajirobe's been eating them lately."

Krillin eyed the jars, estimating about 1,000 beans in each—3,000 in total. He grinned. "That's 1.5 million energy points. I'll never run out now!"

He handed Korin a large supply of fish stored in his capsule. Korin's eyes widened with joy. "This will last me years!"

Before leaving, Krillin struck a deal: "Master Korin, why don't you plant more Senzu Beans? I'll come back every year to trade—100 beans for 1,000 fish."

The proposal was too tempting for Korin to refuse. He readily agreed, securing Krillin a steady supply of Senzu Beans.

Onward to the Lookout

"Master Korin, I'm heading to the Lookout for advanced training. May I borrow the Sacred Bell?" Krillin asked, referring to the bell that served as a token of passage.

Before Korin could answer, an elderly voice echoed from above.

"Korin, let Krillin come. He doesn't need the bell."
