Chapter 306 The first prisoner

"We have a problem, the prisoner is not cooperating." Nika startled everyone but Uriel as she crept out of his shadow.

"What is the problem? Was something wrong with the room decor? I tried to imitate the interrogation room I was taken to at the Mapple corp. as best I could."

"No, that's not it. I just can't get any information from her without hurting her."

"And?" Uriel missed Nika's point entirely.

"She's Luna's sister for the love of the flag!" Medusa butted in.

"Oh! Right, guess I'll have to take care of it then."

Uriel walked towards the makeshift interrogation room. While the Pegasus wasn't as big as the Mapple corporation gargantuan sized zeppelin, it was still big enough for him to get lost a couple times. The reason for that wasn't just that he wasn't familiar with the ship yet, but also because the lack of furnishing made all the rooms look the same.

"What seems to be the problem." Uriel spoke with a grim tone of voice, pretending he didn't say those exact same words a few times before barging into the wrong room several times.

"Did you come to torture me?" Cassandra replied, she was blindfolded and tied up to the chair.

"Not really." Uriel shrugged.

"That's too bad," Cassandra heaved a disappointed sigh. "it would have been great as foreplay."

"You will answer all my questions truthfully." Uriel said as he took off Cassandra's blindfold and looked her in the eye.

"Y-yes!" She meekly replied.

"What are you exactly and how come Luna's transformation is different from yours?"

"We are werewolves from an old clan but we don't know much about our family's origins because we ran from home when we were younger."

"Why?"

"My sister... Luna... she's different from us. We are supposed to pretend to be weak until we get our trait and only then we can show our true form. It's important because humans can't know about our existence but also because we have a long standing rivalry with vampires.

The problem with Luna was that she was born in her true form and was unable to turn into a human until she was like six or something, but even then she wasn't verbal. If that was all, we might have been fine but whenever she gets too flustered, excited or angry she turns back into her true form."

"So, that means she's not autistic, she just never learned to speak or to properly channel her emotions." Uriel nodded.

"How would I know? It's not easy to find a werewolf doctor."

Uriel had gotten most of the answers he needed from Cassandra, but there was one more question that kept taking laps around his head.

"Why are you acting so friendly to me now? You used to be nasty towards me."

"Why you ask? Because I want to be your girlfriend. Your looks can be improved, but you own a company with a zeppelin and you already have a nice reputation as Raider. If I marry you, all my problems would be solved and no one will dare bother us anymore." She replied without a hint of shame, but she wasn't completely truthful. She also wanted to win a certain bet she made with someone she despised.

"What!? You're delusional if you think I'll ever date you." Uriel replied with a scowl to which Cassandra replied by posing in a suggestive manner.

"I've noticed how you looked at me with those puppy eyes of yours."

Uriel leaned towards Cassandra to the point where their lips almost touched. She closed her eyes and waited for a kiss that never arrived. Instead of kissing her, Uriel untied her and exited the room before she opened her eyes.

'Those days are over.' Uriel thought to himself.

Not long after the interrogation the zeppelin started trembling uncontrollably until it hit the ground. It wasn't as bad as a crash, but it was definitely a rough landing as Uriel confirmed once Sam showed up at the landing bay being followed after by a very angry Medusa nagging him for being careless.

"What happened?"

"We ran out of fuel." Sam said as he exited the zeppelin to check for damages while Medusa remained behind fuming.

"I can't believe he spent all the fuel that should have lasted us a week in such little time!"

"Does that mean we're stranded? I don't think there are any gas stations in the middle of nowhere, wait, does this even use gas?"

"Not gas, you silly," her mood shifted back into her usual self and she chuckled at Uriel. "zeppelins don't use gas, they use flux orbs."

Medusa rushed in to check on the damage caused by Sam's inexperience and then came back half an hour later all covered in grease and shaking her head. The Pegasus suffered little to no damage, but that didn't change the fact that they were out of flux orbs in the middle of nowhere.

To make matters even worse, they were going to be forced to spend the night in the zeppelin without any furniture, supplies or the minimum amount of comfort.

What seemed to be the most advanced air vehicle from the outside, was actually not much more that its bare bones. It was able to function, but not efficiently and certainly not comfortably either.

At that point, Uriel refused to let things overwhelm them and proposed a plan to make things better. Thanks to Sam's eidetic memory, he was able to remember all the landmarks at a distance and they were able to pinpoint their location somewhere in what used to be the state of Arizona which meant they were moving northwest when the ship ran out of fuel.

Sam had absolutely no clue on how to guide the ship as it didn't possess even the most basic navigation instruments, but even if it did, he didn't know how to read them anyways. Besides, they didn't have a destination on mind and the only thing was able to do when he noticed the ship was running out of fuel was to stir the ship towards the closest megacity and that gave Uriel an idea.
