Whoosh!

The moment Karlamine and Isabela were frozen solid, they vanished in a flash of light—teleported out of the Rating Game arena.

They hadn't been killed; they were simply removed from the game by the system designed to protect the future of the Devil race.

After the devastating losses in their recent wars, the Devil leaders couldn't risk losing valuable assets in Rating Games.

Therefore, any combatant who suffered a potentially fatal blow was immediately transported out of the arena to receive medical attention.

Of course, their removal meant they were no longer eligible to participate in the game.

"Rias, I've eliminated a Knight and a Rook at the sports complex. I'm heading to the enemy's base now—the Student Council office."

"Understood. We're watching you, Mika."

"Leave it to me." After relaying his report through the communication device, he heard the announcement over the school's PA system:

"A [Rook] and a [Knight] from Riser Phenex's peerage have been eliminated."

"Oh, they announce the results over the PA system?"

"Of course! It's a game—after all. There are spectators," Akeno explained.

"I see. The announcements are for the audience." Mika nodded.

Since the participants had communication devices, the PA system wasn't for their benefit.

He turned to Ravel, who had been watching him. "Your companions have been eliminated. What are your plans?"

"I'm going with you, of course!" she replied cheerfully.

"Aren't you heading to my brother's base? I want to see your battle against him. I'm rather…curious."

"Very well," he replied, "but remember, just observe. If you interfere, I won't hold back, regardless of your 'non-combatant' status."

"Don't worry, I'll just watch," Ravel said meekly, intimidated by his aura. She couldn't even maintain her usual haughty demeanor.

Mika nodded and headed towards the Student Council office, Ravel following close behind, her flame-like wings fluttering gently.

"How did you do it?" she asked as they walked.

"Do what?"

"Defend against Karlamine and Isabela's attacks with just magic power reinforcement. While it's a basic technique, it shouldn't have been able to withstand their full power."

"It was very simple," Mika chuckled.

"You assumed I was only slightly stronger than them, perhaps because I'm a [Rook], not a [Bishop] or [Queen]—whose abilities are focused on magical power."

"Therefore, even if my combat abilities surpassed theirs, you didn't expect such an overwhelming difference in raw magical power. Is that correct?"

"Yes, that's exactly what I thought," Ravel confirmed.

"Then you were mistaken—I'm far stronger than them in every aspect."

Having become a Devil, Mika's magic power had increased dramatically. The quality of his Demonic Energy far surpassed that of his previous sources.

Having mastered this new power—Combined with his exceptional control, his strength had reached terrifying levels.

He could now overpower his former self with pure strength alone, without relying on other skills or abilities.

"Here we are." He stopped before the new school building, just as two announcements echoed through the PA system.

"Two Pawns and a Rook from Riser Phenex's peerage have been eliminated."

"Two more Pawns from Riser Phenex's peerage have been eliminated."

"Issei and Yuuto are doing well, it seems," Mika said with a smile. "I'll have to step up my game. I can't let them outshine me."

He looked at the building.

"So, all the remaining enemies are inside? A [Queen], a [Bishop], a [Knight], four [Pawns], and Riser himself. Are they expecting an assassination attempt?" he mused, using his—[Observation Haki] to scan the building's interior.

Ravel stared at him, stunned. How did he know? Riser had indeed gathered his remaining forces to protect himself against an assassination attempt.

After all, Mika's ability to conceal his presence had unnerved him.

While Riser himself wasn't afraid, his peerage were. If he scattered them throughout the school, they would likely be eliminated one by one.

And if he were outnumbered, even he might be defeated.

There were only two ways to defeat an immortal being like Riser: repeatedly kill him until his spirit broke, or overpower him completely, destroying both his body and soul.

If surrounded, Rias's peerage might actually stand a chance.

Therefore, he had kept his remaining forces close, waiting for Mika to reveal himself.

"Excellent strategy, but not quite thorough enough." Mika smiled. He channeled his demonic power into [Radiant Spear].

"I'm not just an Assassin." Gripping the spear's shaft, he swung it towards the new school building.

A wave of energy erupted—striking the building.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

The new school building vanished, leaving only a deep chasm in its place.

....

BOOOOOOOMMMMM!

"Argh!" A powerful shockwave rippled outward, and Ravel, who had been observing from a safe distance, shielded her face from the blast.

Mika's attack had stunned her.

"A single blow that can tear the earth apart—Even among High-class Devils, This destructive power is nonexistent."

"He's far stronger than I imagined." She stared at Mika, his figure unwavering amidst the swirling dust and debris, a confident smile playing on his lips.

'He's like a Hero from the legends,' she thought.

"Mika!" Three figures rushed towards him from two different directions: Issei, Koneko, and Yuuto.

"You're quick," he said with a smile.

"Of course! We can't let you handle them all by yourself!" Issei exclaimed. Yuuto and Koneko nodded in agreement.

"Where are the enemies?" Issei asked, looking around.

Mika pointed behind him with a grin.

They turned their gazes towards the billowing smoke. As it cleared, they saw the new school building reduced to rubble, a deep chasm extending outwards from where Mika stood.

The chasm was so deep that Issei couldn't see the bottom. It was like a bottomless abyss, having swallowed the entire building.

"D-Did you do this, Mika-senpai?" Koneko asked, her voice filled with awe.

"Yep," he replied nonchalantly.

Despite their earlier suspicions, his confirmation left them speechless. They knew he was a master swordsman, a warrior whose skills commanded their respect.

However, they hadn't realized his magical power was equally terrifying.

Issei, especially, was stunned. On the last day of their training, Rias had demonstrated her full power, obliterating a small hilltop with a single spell.

But she had been completely exhausted afterward. And Mika had just…casually destroyed an entire building. Issei could sense the immense power emanating from him, a seemingly bottomless well of magic.

"You're incredible, Mika!"

"Indeed." Akeno, who had been given free rein by Rias, landed gracefully beside them.

"As expected of our hero," she said with a smile.

They all grinned. He was—their hero.

"Hey! What's going on over there? I can hear your cheers, but could someone explain the situation?" Rias's voice echoed from their communication devices. They had completely forgotten about her.

They quickly relayed the events, just as an announcement echoed from the PA system.

"A Bishop, a Knight, and four Pawns from Riser Phenex's peerage have been eliminated."

Simultaneously, a roar echoed from the chasm.

"That's…my brother!" Ravel exclaimed.

"He's finally decided to show himself," Mika chuckled, watching as flames erupted from the chasm.

"From the announcement, it seems Riser's Queen survived. Must be that [Phoenix Tears] stuff."

[Phoenix Tears], a unique item of the Phenex clan, possessed incredible healing properties, capable of restoring even those on the verge of death to peak condition.

Mika wasn't surprised that Riser had survived; he was a Phenex, after all.

However, for his Queen to survive such a devastating attack, the only explanation was [Phoenix Tears].

"That's…cheating!" Issei exclaimed, pointing at Ravel.

"Cheating? What do you mean, cheating?!" she retorted angrily.

"Don't you have Twilight Healing, a healing-type Sacred Gear that's practically a cheat code itself?!"

"Besides, because [Phoenix Tears] are so potent, each team is only allowed two vials in a Rating Game. That's a significant restriction!"

"Two vials? Then why did only Riser's Queen survive?" Mika asked, ignoring the debate about whether it was cheating or not.

"I have the other one," Ravel said, holding up a small vial, which Mika promptly snatched.

"So this is [Phoenix Tears]. Interesting…" He pocketed the vial.

"Hey! You can't just take my things!" Ravel protested.

"We're in a battle. Isn't that allowed?" he replied with a grin.

"But…" She was horrified; she had just given the enemy a vial of [Phoenix Tears].

"Don't worry. I'm just…curious about it. Consider it a gift. And as compensation, I won't use it in this battle." he reassured her.

"You really won't use it?" She relaxed slightly. While [Phoenix Tears] was precious, as long as it wasn't used against them, giving a vial to Mika wasn't a major loss.

"Of course not. After all… Victory is already mine."
