Chapter 300.2
Chapter 300.2. The Perished World
“My, my, always with the taunts! I plan to hold Sakimori’s hand, let him guide me, and walk lovingly into the future. I don’t need your help,” Shizuku replied in a flat tone, her words sweet but devoid of emotion. She was fully prepared for battle, leaving no room for carelessness.
“I’d like to say it’s been a long journey, but life goes on. Tomorrow, this will be a fond memory, a story from the past. But the world won’t end with a ‘happily ever after’. It’s a harsh place.”
“If you defeat me, you’ll be busy reviving humanity for a while. If you lose and die here, you can drift in the netherworld, dozing in eternal slumber.”
A final act of mercy. A salvation for humanity. No despair, no hope—just souls drifting through the world.
“No thanks. I’m a workaholic. A boring life like that isn’t for me.”
“Indeed. I plan to keep my body and enjoy some intimate moments. I feel like I’m losing to Serika.”
“Then let’s fight.”
Shizen knew they would never accept her offer. But the conversation was necessary. Shizuku had given her the words she needed. It was enough.
“I am Shizen, the one who governs Conflict and seeks to become the strongest. Though our meeting is brief, I will remember your valor.”
With a fluid motion, Shizen raised her fist to her chest, adopting a half-crouched stance. Her movements were natural, without hesitation, and no power leaked from her.
There stood a girl who had completely mastered her power. A warrior who contained immense strength yet showed no trace of it, leaving no openings.
“My name is Amano Sakimori. President of Amatsugahara Corporation and a man struggling to secure funds for the core I’ve acquired.”
“My name is Amano Shizuku. I will now fulfill my mission to revive humanity. Let’s begin.”
Sakimori stood composed, his inner thoughts unreadable, while Shizuku, slightly tense, raised her sword with a cautious expression.
The three faced each other, the air around them shimmering with heat.
[High Accelerator]
Shizuku activated her acceleration technique, disappearing as she rushed toward Shizen at high speed.
[High Accelerator]
Shizen matched her, accelerating and moving to evade.
A gust of wind swept through, their hair and clothes fluttering.
“Shh.”
Shizuku swung her sword. A sharp sound echoed as the blade closed in on Shizen. Shizen slid her right foot slightly, gently guiding the blade with the back of her hand to redirect its trajectory.
But Shizuku had anticipated this. She pulled back, launching a series of weak strikes—a diagonal slash from the right, a horizontal sweep from the left, an upward cut, and a vertical slash—attacking relentlessly.
“Huff.”
Exhaling briefly, Shizen thrust both hands forward, smoothly deflecting the onslaught. Her movements were fluid, as if she were gliding through a layer of air, effortlessly dodging Shizuku’s attacks.
[Dance, My Familiars]
Sakimori, who had stepped back to create distance, raised his hand, and from Shizuku’s shadow emerged dark cats, crows, and snakes, baring their fangs.
“Fuuu~”
Shizen’s fingers transformed into claws as she grabbed a cat’s head and hurled it at a crow. She wielded a snake like a rope, whipping it to strike the other familiars, causing them to falter. With a light kick, she deflected Shizuku’s sword strike like a shield.
“Hmm.”
Shizuku frowned as her attack was blocked.
[Tempest Emperor’s Sword Dance]
With her vision slightly obscured by Shizen, Shizuku unleashed her technique. A storm erupted, slicing through the familiars without hesitation as she pressed her attack on Shizen.
Shizen smiled faintly, satisfied, and unleashed her own technique.
[Chaos]
Shizen’s fist swayed, distorting the air, and the tempest of Shizuku’s blade vanished. A slight shockwave erupted between them, and the two girls stepped back to regain their distance.
“Impressive, Shizuku. I commend your decisiveness in cutting down the familiars without hesitation. Abandoning the strategy of using their numbers to wear me down with light attacks—that’s not an easy choice.”
“Thank you. Your martial arts exceeded my expectations, so I gave up on that plan.”
Shizuku replied flatly, calmly measuring the distance while Sakimori silently watched for an opening.
“A fitting opponent for the final battle. May I hope for a little leniency?”
“Unfortunately, those words aren’t in my dictionary. Especially against a strong foe.”
Shizen replied with a voice tinged with joy, readying herself.
Now, I am free. All that remains is to strive for the strongest.
