Engineer of the Gansekigan: Rebirth in the Village Hidden in the Rain

Chapter 3: The Art of the Rain

Time continued its course in Amegakure, with the constant threat of war lurking in the shadows, but also with moments of tranquility, which Kaito took advantage of to teach Konan what he knew. As the days passed, their bond grew stronger, and their training progressed. Konan, with her disciplined nature and innate ability to learn, absorbed each lesson with the same dedication that Kaito had shown in his own path as a ninja. However, Kaito's teachings were not limited to the basic aspects of ninjutsu and taijutsu; there were also deeper secrets he shared with her.

When Kaito had arrived in Amegakure, his knowledge of Earth's advanced technology had been one of the factors that earned him a distinguished position in the village. He had provided valuable ideas and improvements in infrastructure, especially in the fields of engineering and weaponry, which greatly benefited the village's ninjas. In exchange for his technical wisdom, the Village of Rain granted him knowledge of Water Release, a vital element for the ninjas of this region due to the village's abundant water.

After receiving that knowledge, Kaito dedicated himself to studying and perfecting the techniques he had been taught. He knew that he not only had to train himself but also had the responsibility of passing that knowledge on to Konan, who would one day have to face the challenges of a dangerous world.

Kaito didn't just teach Konan the basic ninjutsu techniques, such as the Transformation Technique (Henge no Jutsu), the Clone Technique (Bunshin no Jutsu), and the Substitution Technique (Kawarimi no Jutsu). He also shared with her some of the more powerful techniques that had been granted to the village. These techniques, while not part of a young ninja's standard training, represented an important step toward mastering chakra and elemental power.

The techniques Kaito taught Konan were all related to Water Release (Suiton). There was something fascinating about how water could be shaped and used in combat, and Kaito understood that Konan needed to learn to master these abilities if she was ever going to face the trials of a high-level ninja.

Water Release: Water Collision Wave (Suiton: Suishōha)

This technique was powerful and quite complex, used to launch a massive amount of water in the form of towering waves. Kaito explained that the technique involved concentrating a great amount of chakra into the water, creating pressure that generated waves capable of sweeping away enemies. At first, Konan struggled to control the amount of chakra she needed to release without the technique becoming overwhelming, but over time, she began to refine it, producing waves with great precision.

"Suishōha is not just destructive, Konan," Kaito explained. "It's a symbol of control. You can use it to stop an enemy's advance or even drag them away with the force of the water. Remember, it's both a tool and an attack."

Water Release: Snake's Mouth (Suiton: Ja no Kuchi)

This technique allowed Konan to use water more flexibly. By concentrating chakra into the air and releasing it as water, Konan was able to summon a "snake's mouth" made of water that could swiftly attack and ensnare her enemies. Though the technique required great precision and control, especially to avoid wasting chakra, Konan proved to be especially talented in this kind of jutsu due to her meticulous focus. It was an ideal technique for surprise attacks or creating distractions.

"Remember, the key is speed," Kaito taught her while demonstrating the perfect execution of the technique. "Since it's so fast, the enemy won't even realize what hit them until it's too late."

Water Release: Water Whip (Suiton: Suiben)

Suiben allowed Konan to create a whip made of water that could be used for both attack and defense. This technique was useful not only in combat but also for moving quickly across terrain. Though not as powerful as Suishōha, Suiben was far more versatile and could be used in various situations. Konan quickly grasped the importance of this technique, using it to disarm enemies or even to restrain them when no other option was available.

"It's like an invisible rope that always maintains control over its target," Kaito explained. "Use water not just as a weapon, but as a way to manipulate the environment in your favor."

Water Release: Violent Water Wave (Suiton: Mizurappa)

Mizurappa was a frontal attack technique that consisted of a powerful jet of high-pressure water capable of destroying obstacles and forcing opponents back. Kaito taught Konan that, while extremely powerful, it was also dangerous to use without control, as the amount of chakra required for the technique could quickly drain her energy reserves. Konan had to train extensively to use it efficiently, as a miscalculation could cause the attack to dissipate or even harm her allies.

"The key here is distance and impact force. A well-aimed strike can disarm an enemy without the need for direct combat."

Water Release: Hiding in Water Technique (Mizugakure no Jutsu)

Finally, Kaito taught her one of the most useful and defensive techniques: Mizugakure no Jutsu, which allowed her to hide underwater and move undetected. This technique was vital for escaping dangerous situations or even ambushing an enemy. Konan, though initially surprised by the technique, quickly understood its value, as it was one of the best ways to conceal herself when a situation became too perilous.

"Water is not just a means of attack, Konan," Kaito told her. "It can be your shield, your hiding place. Learn to disappear within it, and you'll be more dangerous than you can imagine."

Throughout her training, Konan quickly mastered these powerful techniques, but Kaito constantly reminded her that control and wisdom behind each ability were the most important aspects. Water could be a great ally, but also a destructive force if not handled properly.

Meanwhile, Kaito's parents continued their own training, though it was much more difficult for them due to their age. However, Kaito never pressured them. He showed patience and understanding, and while advanced Water Release techniques were not for them, the fact that they could defend themselves against the daily threats in the village gave them a sense of security they had never had before.

One day, while Konan was perfecting her Water Collision Wave in a nearby clearing, Kaito watched his parents training in their small garden. Though they did not master the more complex techniques, their effort and dedication were evident.

Kaito sighed in satisfaction. He had passed on what he knew, not just as a ninja, but as a son, a protector, a teacher. The Village of Rain and his family had been his home, and through his teachings, he hoped that one day, Konan would be able to face any adversity that came her way—armed not just with skills, but with the knowledge and wisdom that the rain had taught them all.

Thus, amid the war, the rain continued to fall over Amegakure, while Kaito and his family prepared for the future—with water as their ally and training as their path.
