Chapter 2595: Buer, The 17th Great Duke of Hell, Lord of Knowledge
-----
After hearing how the Great Ancestor intended to learn more about Medea by extending the fight for a bit longer, Beowulf and Clementine glanced into the skies, as several small shadows, Medea's endless familiars, merged into a dimensional gate.
"If I cannot do it on my own, then I shall simply bring many of my friends with me! Hahahaha!"
Medea wasn't giving up either, she also wanted to see what they were capable of and decided to bring "friends" with her. Terrific friends whom she had created even more terrific pacts, contracts with monstrous beings nobody should ever speak with.
"{Great Dark Magia Manifest}: {Great Dimensional Gate: Demon Summoning}!"
FLUOSH!
TRUUUM!
Suddenly, a shockwave of demonic flames erupted from the portal, as a gigantic entity started to tear through the fabric of space and time and emerged into the domain, using its massive fiery claws to open the gate even further.
"GRRRHHHH…!"
The monstrous being resembled a giant black lion-headed titan, with massive muscles covered by black scales and crimson eyes, six arms, and a blazing mane made of black flames. His entire presence seemed to twist and warp space around him.
"I, Buer, the 17th Great Duke of Hell, Lord of Knowledge, have responded to the summoning of the Legendary Dark Witch!"
BAAAM!
Buer's giant foot slammed into the ruined city, burning through the pavement and melting it into lava. He smiled as he looked around him, finally being summoned into the World of the Living, and Earth no less.
His gigantic body was over thirty meters of height, towering above the trio, as he looked at them with the many eyes across his body, inspecting their power levels, or well, what little he could see through the "surface power" of Beowulf, Clementine, and the Great Ancestor.
"Hmph, so is this the trash you want me to take care of? Not hard at all, Medea… It has been ages since you've summoned me into this wonderful world! And- Hm?"
However, Buer suddenly stopped talking, as Medea was also quite happy to see him, but wondered why he suddenly started glaring at her with… strangeness in his eyes.
"Buer! I am also happy to see you! I have found perfect offerings for you, giver of knowledge!" Medea said. "After all, without your help and guidance back then, I wouldn't even be what I am now… So I wanted to-"
"You…"
"Buer?"
"You're not Medea…"
"W-What?! I am! What are you talking about?"
"Hmm?!"
Buer suddenly approached her, looking into her soul.
"A mirror? A perfect… copy? You're like her, but from a parallel- Ah! I understand now… Hah, so there's two of you now? Hilarious."
"W-What? What are you talking about?! Two of me? there can only be one of me in this world!"
"Sure, in this world, but what about the other? Ah, it doesn't matter either way! Mirror or not, parallel or not, this world is almost the same… And it suffices for my endless hunger! Eligos got to invade that Genesis world all on his own, and he's only a little bit stronger than me…! I was so jealous! But this? It's fine too! Bwahahaha!"
Buer glared at the trio he had to fight, and then back at Medea.
"The good thing about witches and warlocks from Earth is that you can summon us easily, without having to set up any Demonic Tower or whatever! I might have a time limit here, but I'll make sure to enjoy it!"
"…"
Medea remained in silence, thinking about what Buer had been talking about, she was quite surprised. He called her a fake, then realized it was she was a "mirror" or whatever.
It confused her, she had never considered the existence of "parallel worlds" before at all, until now.
Buer seemed to not be a parallel being, only one of him existed.
But if he was someone that she could trust, then what he said… made her learn of the existence of "another her" from "mirrored world".
However, there was no time to wonder such things, as she waved her hands, infusing more and more Mana into the portal.
"Whatever, I'll figure this out later… Buer, you better tell me more about what you said earlier!" She said. "I'll bring along some more friends of yours. I have plenty of Mana where that came from!"
"Hahahah! As long as you have offerings for me, I will share all my forbidden knowledge with you, my little contractor."
Buer smiled viciously, showing his sharp teeth.
"Now! Shall we begin?"
Buer stepped forward, all of his hands opened, manifesting six different grimoires shining with all sorts of dark colors, overflowing with elemental auras.
"Hoh, a demon huh? And he summons giant books," Beowulf smiled. "That's pretty dumb. Is he a fucking librarian or something?"
"He's the Lord of Knowledge, dog, of course he uses magic to fight!" Clementine said. "Now get ready!"
"Stop calling me dog!" Beowulf said angrily. "You damn old hag!"
"Who are you calling old hag, stupid mutt?!" Clementine roared angrily. "I am as beautiful and young-looking as I once was when I was but a young lady!"
"Hahaha! Not even you believe that lie!" Beowulf laughed out loud.
"Hahh…" The Great Ancestor facepalmed as she looked at the two wasting time discussing.
"Problems in paradise, mortals?"
Buer smiled viciously, finding it funny when mortals discussed and wasted their lives fighting over such mundane and stupid things.
"Let me alleviate your pain."
His grimoires shone brightly, conjuring hundreds of colorful pentagram magic circles in front of him.
"{Great Ancient Grimoire Magic}: {Life Erasure}"
FLAAASH!
Beowulf, Clementine, and the Great Ancestor only saw a bright, rainbow light, before everything around them was consumed by a gigantic accumulation of pure raw, elemental magic power.
BOOOMMM!!!
The ground shattered apart and exploded everywhere, the entire city was completely reduced to ashes and even the nearby mountains were gone.
Once everything was consumed, Buer and Medea looked at the scene, the witch was surprised.
"A-As expected…! Your magic remains almighty, my master! I suppose summoning small fries is not necessary…"
"Spare that Mana for me instead, dear Medea… These foes you've found are quite the monsters."
"Y-You mean…?!"
Medea's eyes widened, realizing all three of them…
They were alive.
