Even Hell’s Affairs Depend on Gold – I Got Fired, but I’ve Acquired an Alchemy Cheat Skill, So I’m Aiming for a Major Life Turnaround

Volume 1 Chapter 94

As Nanapon and I decided to end our adventure early and head back, the gate came into view.

“Look, there’s Mikie-san,” Nanapon remarked.

I looked around the gate area and indeed, Yoshino-san was standing there alone.

“What’s she doing alone?”

“Maybe she has something for Eleanor-san? I met her in front of the guild before coming here today.”

Nanapon met Yoshino-san?

“At the Ikebukuro guild? Did you talk?”

“Yes, she asked me various things.”

“Like what?”

“About the recent kidnapping incident. Whether I recognized the culprit, things like that.”

“Now, of all times?”

Isn’t it a bit late for that?

“Also, she asked about you and Guild Master Satsuki. Wondering if we had mentioned anything about them.”

“I get why she’d ask about me, but Satsuki-san too? Because of the burglary incident?”

“No, she was more interested in whether we had talked about her own matters.”

That woman really worries too much… She should just apologize already.

“Is that all?”

“Yes. After a brief chat, she said she’d like to talk more later and left.”

Similar to my experience, huh? Maybe she planned to question Nanapon after Okita-kun.

“I see. So, she came here probably to talk to me.”

“I think so.”

Maybe she wants to sell something again?

While pondering what Yoshino-san might want, we continued towards the gate, where only a few people and a party were gathered, aside from Yoshino-san.

As Nanapon and I approached the gate, Yoshino-san, who was watching me intently, caught my eye.

“Are you here for work as well?”

I initiated the conversation, curious about Yoshino-san’s gaze.

“Sort of… waiting for someone. And you?”

“We’re heading back. Thanks for introducing us to this place. Seems like even my child can handle it.”

I glanced at Nanapon, who had moved behind me, and so did Yoshino-san.

“Is that child with you? Looks like a guard yet hiding behind the master…”

Nanapon is a bit of a homebody, after all.

“She’s my disciple. Cute, right? She goes by the name Agent Seven.”

“It’s Yokogawa, though.”

Well, I did mention it before, and we just met.

“She insists on being called Agent Seven.”

“A fake name… Disguised, too, huh?”

“I’ve told you before, she’s still a student. Given the recent incident, I had her disguise. So, any business with me? If not, I’m leaving.”

“Nothing urgent… but there might be something important to discuss soon.”

Something important? Some kind of deal, maybe?

“Hmm, okay. I’ll wait. Agent Seven, let’s go.”

“Okay… maybe I should change my name…”

Nanapon is fine as it is.

Nanapon and I bid farewell to Yoshino-san, passed through the gate, and returned to the guild.

At the guild, I took Nanapon with me to meet Kaede-chan, informing her that we needed to speak with Guild Master Satsuki. We then proceeded to the Branch Chief’s office.

“Guild Master Satsuki, are you there?”

I called out while knocking on the office door.

“Come in,” came the reply.

Upon entering, we found Satsuki-san lying on the sofa, playing with her smartphone.

“Playing games again?”

I inquired, approaching the sofa.

“Yep, come sit.”

Satsuki-san sat up with a grunt, and we all took our seats – Satsuki-san and Kaede-chan side by side, with Nanapon and me opposite them.

“Looks like you’re free.”

“Pretty much. Auction’s over, and things are calm.”

“Let me make you busy then. Here, this is for you.”

I placed the Level 3 Recovery Potion I had made earlier on the table.

“Grey, huh…”

Satsuki-san seemed to understand just by the color.

“You knew?”

“Yeah, I’ve seen it before.”

She took out the appraisal glasses I gave her, inspected the potion, and then handed it to Kaede-chan.

“I knew it would come eventually, but this was quick. Maybe Level 4 will be possible soon.”

Currently, only a few Level 4 Recovery Potions exist, and none for Level 5.

“What should we do? Sell to the Headquarters or auction it?”

I asked Satsuki-san after getting the potion back from Kaede-chan.

“First, sell the Level 2 potions you have. Then, auction the Level 3. It hasn’t been on the market for years, and we can’t set a price.”

“Alright, I’ll push Claire about it.”

“Do that. After selling Level 2 to Headquarters, we’ll auction Level 3. But first, you

mentioned you can make an Auto-Map?”

“Auto-Map? Oh, that. Haven’t made it yet.”

“Can you make it now?”

“Just need paper, a compass, and a pencil. So, yeah.”

“Please make one and show us.”

“Sure, but what’s it for?”

“The government commissioned a survey company to map Frontier. It’s not a normal bidding process, so something’s up. I’ll look into it.”

“Okay, I’ll make it and bring it next time.”

“Thanks… By the way, Nanapon, what’s with that outfit? Honestly, it doesn’t suit you since you’re short.”

“Harsh!”

Nanapon looked shocked.

“It’s cute.”

“I tried…”

Nanapon looked at me with teary eyes.

“Be honest, Okita-kun.”

“It’s like a kid playing dress-up.”

“I hate you, Okita-san.”

That hurt…

“Well, you picked that disguise yourself. You can’t complain.”

“Between me and Nanapon, who’s worse, Kaede-chan?”

“Okita-senpai.”

“Really?”

“Okita-kun, even I’m put off by how quickly you switch your behavior and speech. It’s disconcerting.”

“I’m more interested in Eleanor-san’s character. Please don’t break it.”

“Fine, I’ll talk normally. I practiced because Satsuki-san told me to, but no more.”

After that, we decided to speak normally and left the office.
