Chapter 182: Didn't See That Coming
As Akun gazed at the dragon created by alternate Akun using dark silver, he couldn't help but feel impressed. A smile formed on his face as he remarked, "If you're a dragon now, then I guess I'll be a dragon slayer."
Locked in a stare, the dragon and Akun faced off. In his dragon form, alternate Akun released a mighty roar, spreading his wings.
As Akun took a closer look at alternate Akun in his dragon form, he mused, "Transforming himself into a dragon was just dumb. Now he can't fight with his hands; all of his attacks would be limited to only his breath." Akun smiled, thinking further, "Guess it's my win since he made the wrong move." He activated his dragon eyes, pinpointing alternate Akun's location inside the dragon's body.
He mused further, "Found him."
In that moment, Akun propelled himself forward with a massive sonic boom at the dragon form of alternate Akun. Inside the dragon body, alternate Akun smiled.
As Akun approached, alternate Akun in his dragon form made a swift turn, utilizing his massive tail and aimed it at Akun. As his body twisted, at the speed he was going, Akun couldn't stop. Time seemed to slow down as Akun mused, "Shit! I completely forgot about the tail."
As the tail struck Akun, he was sent crashing into the ground with a sonic boom. Upon landing, a massive shockwave rippled through the earth, causing chunks of soil to fly into the sky.
As Akun collided with the earth with such massive force, the impact sent shockwaves through the surroundings, shaking the very ground beneath him. He coughed up blood, and his eyes widened with disbelief, mirroring the intensity of the collision.
Quickly regaining his footing, he wiped away the blood, leaving streaks on his face as he rose to face alternate Akun. With a mix of respect and acknowledgment, he yelled, "I must admit, that was very creative of you. I didn't see that coming." The words echoed in the aftermath of the impact, punctuating the gravity of the battle.
Before he could finish his statement, alternate Akun unleashed the power of his dragon maw, launching a 100% charged railgun attack. The air crackled with energy as the projectile hurtled toward Akun.
Time seemed to slow down as Akun locked his gaze on the incoming fire. Inwardly, he mused, "What's the point of a railgun attack? It won't hit anyway." His strategic mind assessed the situation, preparing for the impending collision.
As the colossal bullet approached, Akun swiftly erected a massive and dense barrier made of aspect power, energy crackled and hummed in the air.
But then, to Akun's surprise, the bullet shattered his barrier made of aspect power, causing him to widen his eyes in disbelief as he mused, "What!"
In that split second, Akun lifted up the †Void Sword Ono† with his left hand, bringing it directly above his head. He proceeded to hold it with both hands, and as he saw the bullet approaching, rapidly shattering the sound barrier, he realized he had to be a lot faster.
He enhanced his hand with aspect power and increased his speed to swiftly bring down the sword for a horizontal slash that split the bullet in two, just in time.
As the two halves of the railgun bullet flew past him and collided with the earth behind him, creating a massive dust cloud, Akun couldn't help but muse, "That was a close call." His breath came out in ragged gasps as he turned his gaze to look at the sheer destruction the bullets unleashed behind him.
As Akun turned his gaze back to alternate Akun, irritation etched across his face. "It's obvious why my barrier shattered easily like that," he mused, teeth gritted as he accused, "You used your †Authority†, didn't you?"
The dragon's mouth moved in sync with Akun's voice as he replied, "I did, but what is it to you?"
Gritting his teeth even harder, Akun yelled, "Why? I'm sure you know that will only speed up the process of one of us getting erased."
With a nonchalant tone, alternate Akun stated, "So? I had to. You are far stronger than me. If I don't use everything at my disposal, I will lose helplessly to you, even if that means speeding up the process a little. Besides, if I get rid of you, everything will return to normal."
Akun, teeth still clenched, mused, "Have I always been this crazy?" His thoughts delved further, "If he's gonna play it like that, then two can play that game. I'll just freeze time and end all of this."
As Akun was about to proceed with his grand plan, the system's voice suddenly echoed in his head, [Warning to the player!!]
[The player should refrain from using any †Authority† related to time; if the player does, they could suffer serious consequences.]
Shocked, Akun asked, "Why? He just used an †Authority†, and nothing happened to him. Or are you on his side now?"
The system clarified, [No, player. Simply put, the use of †Authorities† related to time will speed up the process far more than other †Authorities†. This stems from the fact that it was the †Chronos Ruler† †Authority† that caused all of this.] Stay updated with My Virtual Library Empire
The system continued, [The †Authority† the other player used was †Grate Extreme Chaos,† not †Chronos Ruler.† Although it is not the cause of this anomaly, it will still slowly speed up the process.]
Akun then narrowed his gaze as he mumbled, "In other words, only †Grate Extreme Chaos† is on the table."
[...]
[Did the player not just hear the warning from the system?]
Akun then replied, tightening his grip on his Void Sword Onos, "I heard you, but I'd have..." Before Akun could finish his statement, alternate Akun interrupted him. His voice echoed from the body of the dragon as its mouth moved, "Are you done with your little chat with the system yet?"
Akun's eyes widened with disbelief as he muttered, "How did..."
