Exorcist in America

Chapter 454: Chapter 454: The Powerful Demon

Exorcism!

Literally, it means driving out demons.

This is because the essence of demons resides in Hell; when they break through the barrier between the two realms to enter the human world, they are merely incarnations.

So exorcism is not about killing demons but about expelling them since demons cannot be killed.

Ignoring the commotion from Ms. Mehliban on the bed, Father Diego exhaled, slowly picked up the Bible lying flat on the table with his left hand, and then took out the holy water bottle from the exorcism kit with his right hand, his expression serious.

In reality, with Ms. Mehliban's current state, he was not confident he could expel the demon within her, but he had no choice but to proceed.

Otherwise, Ms. Mehliban might die, her entire being overtaken by this demon's incarnation.

"Father Diego, you can't exorcise me!" Ms. Mehliban, who had become neither ghost nor human, lay on the bed, looking at Father Diego with pitch-black eyes, mocking him.

"Because you are too weak, hahaha."

Despite the demon's arrogance, Father Diego remained unchanged, merely glancing at Brother Worawit.

Brother Worawit nodded, indicating he was ready to prevent the demon from going on a rampage.

Generally, if a demon goes berserk, mere ropes cannot hold it, and even the bed might shatter instantly, let alone the ropes.

"Hu!"

Father Diego exhaled lightly, walked to the bedside, and faced the mocking Ms. Mehliban, his holy power surging as he calmly spoke.

"Lord, please protect us!"

As his words fell, it was as if a stone had dropped into a calm lake.

The gloomy atmosphere in the room was instantly dispelled by an invisible force.

This was the combination of holy power and the Bible!

For clergy, the Bible acts as a real amplifier, capable of doubling their power.

At the same time, the scriptures they recite also emit corresponding power.

Of course, all this power originates from the holy power within the clergy; without it, one cannot harness the power contained within the scriptures.

"Roar!"

Ms. Mehliban, who was lying on the bed, seemed to smell something disgusting. She widened her pitch-black eyes and roared at Father Diego standing before her.

Her mouth opened wide, and her tongue and the inside of her mouth were entirely black, secreting large amounts of black liquid that flowed continuously as if she were vomiting blood. The black liquid dripped onto the bed sheets and her clothes.

A corrosive smell emanated, and visible smoke rose from the bed sheets and clothes, indicating that the black liquid had strong corrosive properties.

With a puff.

A large amount of black liquid suddenly sprayed from Ms. Mehliban's mouth towards Father Diego.

"Father Diego!" Daken, who was already extremely tense and whose senses were heightened by the terrifying atmosphere, screamed.

But he did not notice that Brother Worawit, responsible for protection, did not move.

The next second, before the black liquid could reach him, a calm voice came from Father Diego.

"Lord!"

"Hallowed be Thy Name."

As the words fell, the black liquid instantly dissipated into nothingness.

"Roar!"

Ms. Mehliban, with her terrifying eyes, stared fiercely at the calm Father Diego and hissed.

"Father Diego, you're courting death!"

Her face showed no fear, only malice.

But Father Diego ignored her, continuing to recite, "Thy kingdom come!"

As Father Diego's holy power and the power of the scriptures combined, the room seemed to brighten as if light had descended from the invisible void.

Ms. Mehliban's face and body appeared to burn under this power, with her skin showing a series of changes.

Red patches appeared on her skin, forming layers of black or dark brown scabs as if her human body was being roasted by real flames, showing corresponding changes.

Apart from Daken, both Father Diego and Brother Worawit knew that these manifestations were due to the demon's incarnation and its dark power being continuously burned. This process felt exactly like a human being burned by fire.

Thus, the pain was identical, which is why it is said that clergy first torment the demon. Importantly, this pain is only endured by the demon.

However, what made Father Diego and Brother Worawit's pupils contract slightly was that Ms. Mehliban did not show any signs of pain. Instead, she looked at the changes in her body with interest.

"Interesting." Ms. Mehliban turned to the increasingly grim Father Diego and Brother Worawit and suddenly smiled.

"So this is what pain feels like; it's quite pleasant! Father Diego, is this your full capability? If this is all you have, then I must say, everyone here will die!

Everyone! One after another!"

Her tone was calm, but coupled with Ms. Mehliban's appearance, it still instilled fear.

Daken, the only non-clergy present, was now so scared he could barely stand by the door.

Father Diego looked extremely grim; this situation was quite rare. Based on Ms. Mehliban's condition, the demon could already be identified as a high-ranking one.

Father Diego fully channeled his holy power, raising his voice from calm to fervent.

"Thy will be done! Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven."

"Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses."

"As we forgive those who trespass against us, lead us not into temptation."

"But deliver us from evil."

"...."

As he recited each line, the combination of holy power and scriptures brought a significant change to the room. Ms. Mehliban's face, previously calm, now showed signs of pain, though she could still endure it.

Father Diego took the holy water bottle and sprinkled it on Ms. Mehliban. Instantly, her condition worsened dramatically, and in her roars, invisible dark power erupted from her body.

The room shook violently, and the bed floated inexplicably.

"Roar!"

In her violent struggle, the rope binding Ms. Mehliban's right hand snapped instantly.

With a crack, Ms. Mehliban reached out her right hand toward Father Diego, who was continuously reciting the scriptures.

An explosive force suddenly erupted, causing the bed, the surrounding tables, and even the floorboards to crack.

Brother Worawit, who had been standing guard, suddenly stepped in front of Father Diego, slashing his sword towards the void ahead.

The sword gleamed with cold light, also flowing with pure white power, slicing through the dark currents in an instant.
