Chapter 20: A lucky man
Chapter 20: A lucky man
Upon leaving the mansion, the family of three walked onto the main road leading out, flanked by tall hedges.
There was a familiar, empty fountain in the middle of their path, and the marble road looked clean as if someone had maintained it.
No ghoul attacked them until they reached the mansion's border, where two armored ghouls guarded the gates.
Noah and Athena quickly dispatched the undead monsters, looting two more crystals, then left for the wilderness.
The rising sun lit up the plains ahead, making Noah narrow his eyes in pain as he looked at the shaved grassland.
He spotted a forest far on the horizon and decided it was the best place for him.
Eleonora and Athena agreed since they saw how uncomfortable the sun was for him.
The fox witch said a Night Elf wandering during the day would only face a few downsides, at most three.
So far, Noah could barely open his eyes and relied on Nocturne's forked tongue to walk beside his beloveds.
Even Nocturne fared poorly under the sun, though its instincts still guided them.
After a while, Noah felt much more tired than he ever did at night.
For the first time, his stomach growled and sweat trickled down just from walking.
He figured he was weaker now, but no monsters showed up to prove it.
He believed resting in the shade for a bit might restore him.
To test that, he wove a small orb web above his head, connecting it to the large sack on his back.
He instantly felt cool relief wash over him, as though someone had poured cold water on him and given him a fresh drink.
He moaned, which Eleonora and Athena secretly liked.
Eleonora teased, "We know your first real enemy, the Sun. You just need to stay in shadows to overcome it, but it sounds like a real pain."
Athena added, "He will work night shifts until he finds an innate ability to deal with daylight and live normally in the day."
Noah was too tired to talk, so he only nodded.
He could walk under a makeshift roof, but it would drain his mana.
If he lost his robes, they would have to carry all the boxes by hand, which sounded even worse.
"Let's stop now and then," Noah said. "I don't want to waste my mana on the umbrella, and carrying all those boxes is a pain, right?"
Eleonora nodded several times, and Athena only smiled wryly at her.
They traveled under the sun for a while before reaching the forest border.
Its thick canopy made Noah feel refreshed and he happily dropped onto the forest floor.
"If a normal forest feels this good, I can't imagine how amazing the Elven Forest must be," Noah said, rolling on the ground.
Meanwhile, Athena cut her palm and summoned two red wolves to scout the area for beasts or threats.
Noah lifted himself and glanced at Athena.
He scratched his head, thinking he should have done the same with Nocturne, instead of flopping onto the ground like a child.
Athena noticed his expression and recalled their recent talk, which Eleonora knew nothing about.
She gave the fox witch a short look and moved closer to Noah to whisper.
She spoke into his ear, "Because of thy tender age, thou should act on thy feelings. I am here to look after thee. After all, I am a woman past her prime with centuries behind me, while thou art a young adult. Dost thou like older women?"
Noah nodded.
"Then, before thou reach thy prime, thou art a lucky young man with a wolf m-mommy who loves and cares for thee," Athena said, her face reddening.
Noah's heart pounded. He never thought he would hear something like that, but he did have a thing for older women. Hearing her call herself his mommy excited him even more.
Without thinking, he said, "You have yet to be a mommy, but leave that to me in a few years."
She hugged him, pressing her face into his shoulder with a happy whimper.
Eleonora finally noticed them bonding and skipped over.
"What are you two whispering about? Tell me," she demanded, tugging on Noah's cheeks.
He swallowed. "That I'm a lucky young adult with a wolf mommy."
Athena's heart jumped, and she bit Noah's shoulder on impulse. He scratched behind her wolf ears to calm her.
Eleonora blinked, then curved her lips in a sly smile.
"That makes me the big sister, right? Haha. You are a naughty little brother, Noah. How should I punish you? Mmm, I know."
She leaned in and kissed Noah, using all she had learned from the Universe Library since their first soft kiss.
She intertwined her tongue with his and drained the air from him, even sipping on his saliva. Noah's eyes rolled back in pleasure.
Athena also licked the small wound she had made on his shoulder and sucked his blood.
She added a strange mix of pain and pleasure that only heightened his senses.
Their soft bodies pressed against him, and Noah did not move, afraid to lose any of their warmth.
Eleonora whispered, "I fucking love kissing you," licking her lips and growing even more sensual.
Noah nodded without thinking, showing her he felt the same.
Meanwhile, Athena peeked from his shoulder and murmured, "Thou art really bold, Eleonora."
"Said mama," Eleonora teased, making Athena hide her face in Noah's shoulder.
Athena whispered, "I heard men like this, and Noah does, so I have no regrets."
"As long as it stays in our family, we are fine," Eleonora said, feeling a bit embarrassed by their role-play.
Noah and Athena both agreed.
