Fairy, Don’t Be Afraid, I’m Blind

Chapter 60: Master's Wife, Let's Go!

Chapter 60: Master’s Wife, Let’s Go!

Qi Daodong glared at You Su, unflinching in the face of his intimidation. Through gritted teeth, he spat, “An evil spirit resisting arrest needs no justification!”

Each word was like adding fuel to the fire. You Su could no longer hold back. His sword surged forward like a thunderbolt, its momentum unstoppable.

Qi Daodong, holding the pagoda in one hand, let out a cold snort. With a wave of his hand and a muttered incantation, a cyan barrier adorned with golden runes that shimmered with power materialized in front of him.

Wu Ping watched with envy. This was the Azure Ox Technique, a secret art of the Guardian Firmament Sect, reserved only for the sect leader. The technique transformed a portion of the user’s spiritual energy into a powerful cyan force, enhancing the strength of any spell cast with it.

The sect leader is even using the precious Azure Ox energy! This blind fool is doomed!

As expected, You Su’s fierce sword strike was blocked by the cyan barrier, leaving him in despair.

You Su’s eyes were pitch black, and his chest was filled with boundless rage. He felt as though his heart might explode from the intensity of his emotions. All of his spiritual energy surged in response to his will, converging at the tip of his sword.

At that moment, he had only one thought: He had to shatter this barrier!

Watching You Su’s unyielding determination, Wu Cheng was reminded of the sword strike that You Su had aimed at him that day.

When his master had asked him what it felt like to face You Su’s sword intent, Wu Cheng hadn’t been able to articulate it. But now, he understood. It was an unstoppable, relentless force!

A blind man who wants to reach his destination has two choices: either move cautiously, feeling his way forward, or charge forward like a mad bull, smashing through everything in his path!

With a roar that shook the heavens, You Su’s sword struck the cyan barrier. Cracks began to spread across its surface, accompanied by the sound of shattering.

Qi Daodong was shocked. You Su’s combat power far exceeded his expectations! The four-directional barrier he had created using the Azure Ox energy was something even a Condensed Water Realm cultivator would struggle to break through. Yet, You Su, a mere Spirit Platform Realm cultivator, had shattered it!

However, Qi Daodong was an experienced fighter. He would not be intimidated so easily. Still holding the Evil-Suppressing Pagoda, he drew his sword with his free hand and met You Su’s unstoppable strike head-on.

The two of them clashed, their swords locked in a fierce battle. Qi Daodong could sense that You Su’s spiritual energy was indeed at the level of the Spirit Platform Realm, but his physical strength was monstrous, allowing him to hold his own. Qi Daodong couldn’t help but feel a pang of fear. The power of an evil spirit was truly terrifying.

However, Qi Daodong was a Condensed Water Realm expert, far more experienced than a rogue cultivator like Elder Ling. Despite You Su’s ferocious attacks, Qi Daodong gradually gained the upper hand.

Seeing You Su hold his own against his master, Wu Ping sneered in disdain. Disgusted by You Su’s reliance on evil spirits for power, he spat on the ground.

The battle intensified. Ignoring Qi Daodong’s sword strikes, You Su managed to land a bloody wound on Qi Daodong’s arm. Enraged, Qi Daodong twisted the sword embedded in You Su’s abdomen, causing him to cry out in agony.

Qi Daodong then kicked You Su, sending him flying more than ten meters away. Blood pooled on the ground as You Su struggled to get up.

Qi Daodong glanced at the wound on his arm, and then put the pagoda away. Furious, he strode toward the fallen You Su, his sword dripping with blood.

“Your master really picked up a wild dog!” he spat.

You Su used his sword to prop himself up, barely managing to stand. The wound in his abdomen bled profusely, threatening to make him collapse. He stared at Qi Daodong’s aged, hate-filled face, so clear that he could see the murderous intent radiating from the old man.

“Master!” Wu Cheng suddenly rushed forward, placing his sword at You Su’s neck. He turned to Qi Daodong and said, “Death is too easy for him. We should bring him back for questioning!”

Qi Daodong looked at his beloved disciple and calmed himself down. “Restrain them!”

“Yes!” the crowd replied in unison.

As some moved toward Ji Lingruo and others rushed into the main hall, Wu Cheng circled behind You Su, intending to restrain him. But in a sudden turn of events, with a burst of strength, You Su disarmed Wu Cheng and pressed the Black Pine Sword against his neck.

“Everyone, stay back!” You Su roared, holding Wu Cheng hostage.

The crowd hesitated, not daring to act recklessly. Qi Daodong, both angry and worried, quickly sheathed his sword. “You Su! Calm down!”

“I am calm!” You Su panted, his eyes darting around. “If you don’t want him to die, step back!”

He turned to Qi Daodong, tightening his grip on Wu Cheng. “Don’t try anything! If I die, I’ll take him with me!”

Qi Daodong discreetly lowered his hand, which had been hidden in his sleeve. Wu Cheng was his most talented disciple, capable of casting two spells simultaneously. He couldn’t afford to lose him.

“Everyone, retreat ten paces!” Qi Daodong ordered.

The crowd slowly retreated. Still holding Wu Cheng hostage, You Su moved toward Ji Lingruo.

The Black Pine Sword left a thin cut on Wu Cheng’s neck as You Su barked, “Drop your swords and raise your hands!”

Fearing for his life, Wu Cheng complied. With one hand, You Su released his grip on Wu Cheng and lifted up the unconscious Ji Lingruo.

“Go to the main hall!” You Su commanded.

Feeling the cold blade against his neck, Wu Cheng obeyed. The crowd didn’t dare block their path, and any sudden movement made the sword press harder.

Qi Daodong, cautious and unwilling to risk Wu Cheng’s life, spoke in a calmer tone. “You Su! Let Wu Cheng go. If you are not an evil spirit, we will not harm you!”

“Shut up!” You Su snapped.

He backed into the main hall, using Wu Cheng as a shield. Once inside, he took a deep breath and called out, “Master’s Wife! Let’s go together!”

The fog grew thicker, and everyone waited for an opportunity. But the main hall remained silent, with no response.

You Su tightened his grip on the sword, his voice rising. “Master’s wife, don’t be afraid! They won’t dare act recklessly! Come out and we’ll go together!”

Still, there was no response. The pain in his abdomen was unbearable, and a wave of despair washed over him. His voice trembled as he cried, “Master’s Wife! Let’s go! Come out, please!”

The crowd was equally puzzled. Why didn’t the mysterious Master’s wife react? Had she fainted from fear?

Qi Daodong narrowed his eyes, trying to sense the situation inside the hall with his spiritual energy. But the mist made it difficult for him to clearly discern anything. Suddenly, he realized something.

“You Su, give up. Your master’s wife isn’t here!”

“Nonsense! Junior Sister and Master’s Wife have been in the sect the whole time! Why are you targeting us instead of dealing with the evil spirits outside?”

Sensing You Su’s desperation, Qi Daodong pressed on. “If she were here, why hasn’t she responded? The city is shrouded in mist, yet your master’s wife has mysteriously disappeared! How can you say that this has nothing to do with you?”
