Fairy Tail: I Can Hear Everything With My Unique Skill

Days went by in a flash. After that incident, Akira began to wear his mask every time he went out of the house. Although the charm magic imbued to the mask makes him always the center of attention he has gotten used to it gradually.

On the bright side, no one is mistaking him for a girl since the mask gave him a very manly aura. For now, he looked like a child who was too cute. Maybe in the future, he will look like a very handsome male model who should seriously consider changing their gender.

Well anyway, it had been almost two months since Akira and Sera joined Fairy Tail. And today Akira finaly managed to convince the stubborn Makarov to allow him to go on quests.

" Hmmhmm hmm " Akira hummed a tune as he looked at the various quests that were posted on the quest board. He needed to carefully pick his choice as his options were a bit limited.

Even though he was allowed to take on a quest that was only under the condition that he could not leave Magnolia. So monster hunting and bandit subjugation missions are a no-go from the start.

But even so, there are still many quests that\ could be done inside Magnolia. For example, there is a quest about a client requesting a wizard to teach his son some magic lessons.

Although Akira felt that he could take on this quest he decided to keep it as a last option. There is no way a sane person would let a child who is about 5 years old teach another child magic.

The second quest that grabbed Akira's attention was a quest about a blacksmith requesting a fire wizard to help him process a very precious ore. This piqued Akira's curiosity as most metals don't need a fire wizard's help to melt them.

And as far as he knows the only known metal that needed a wizard's help to melt is Mithril. Yes, it is the same super legendary metal that is commonly seen in almost every fantasy novel. In this world Mithril although rare isn't something considered very valuable in the past.

That is until they found out about its special properties. And that is the ability to become the ban of all demons. In the past where devils were running rampant Mithril weapons were highly sought after as they had the ability to harm devils.

So in that era owning a Mithril weapon was like having a noble title. It was a great honor and a big responsibility. Owning a Mithril weapon comes with the responsibility of taking care of all the people who would flock towards you for protection.

But after that era, Mithril weapons slowly began to decline in value. Although the weapons themselves are far superior to the weapons made from steel and other metals, the problem is that the cost needed to produce even one Mithril weapon is too much.

As one of the most hardest and powerful metals they need to go through a very complicated process to make new weapons.

' well anyway, I doubt a random blacksmith in Magnolia could get their hands on a chunk of Mithril. ' Akira thought with a chuckle. Although Mithril dropped its value a bit it is still considered a rare metal. So unless you have some real connections you can't really get some even if you are wealthy.

"President, I want to take this quest, " Akira said as she ripped the quest form from the quest board.

"Hmm " Makarov read through the quest and thought about it. "Okay, you can go do this quest. But remember don't make a mess in that place. " Makarov said as he handed the quest form to the receptionist to add it to the logbook.

For a quest like this one must be extra careful as there helping the client do their research. Usually, the wizards who accept such quests are people who have excellent control over their magic as even the slightest bit of change can end in the research's failure.

But since it is only melting a metal that would be not a problem. As long as Akira doesn't put the whole shop on fire it would be okay.

"Okay President see ya later, " Akira said as he ran out of the guild after taking quest form back. He was very excited about his first mission.

The client was a local blacksmith who has a very good reputation in Magnolia. It is said that his weapons are even imported to the capital due to their excellent quality.

"So this is the place huh, " Akira said as he looked at the two-story house that had the sign " Silver Fang "hanging on the wall.

"Hello, is anyone home? " Akira knocked on the door as he shouted.

It seems this blacksmith is a slacker as he had not opened his shop despite it being this late.

" Hello is anyone home? Hello " Akira made sure there was someone inside before he shouted again. He was going to do this mission even if he had to wake up the client himself.

" Wait wait I'm coming so stop yelling this early in the morning" a voice came from inside after Akira loudly knocked on the door for few more times.

Shortly after the door was opened and a young man came out. He had a well-defined body that was filled with muscles. His skin color was a bit on the tan side. On his face, he had a huge mustache like from those cowboy movies.

" What the hell do you mean this early morning kid? If you just need some gear you should have come in the afternoon. " The man asked with annoyance as he looked at Akira.

Akira just showed him the quest paper and said, "Hello mister, my name is Akira and I'm here for the mission that you issued to our guild "

" Oh, you are the fire wizard that took my commission "The man was taken back as looked at Akira with skepticism. This kid who is wearing this strange mask looks no older than 6 and is a fire wizard.

" Yes, although I may look young our president has already acknowledged my skills are enough for this mission so please don't worry about my credibility, " Akira said as he showed his Fairy Tail mark.

"I see well come in kid " the man nodded as he gestured for Akira to come inside. Walking inside Akira looked around and saw that there were many weapons ranging from swords, shields, halberds, spears, and many more were put on display.

There was also some armor but Akira didn't pay them any attention as frankly speaking those were too plain and ugly. And even more, they didn't have the authentic look the rest of the weapons had. Maybe these armors are just dummies used for showing the customer.

Walking past the shop area Akira came to the workshop. Looking around Akira had to say that he was a bit impressed. Despite this man looking like a lazy bum his workshop is quite tidy.

"So what did you really want me to melt " Akira asked the man who began to bring in some wood.

" Oh right, I forgot to mention that, the metal I want to melt is Orichalcum "The man paused before continuing what he was doing.

" what " Akira was shocked. " how in the world did you get your hands on Orichalcum " he couldn't help but ask.

Unlike Methril, Orichalcum is still known as the most rarest and powerful metal you could find in Earthland. And unlike Mithril you need some very good luck to get your hands on even a small chunk of Orichalcum.

" Oh you know about Orichalcum "The man raised one eyebrow at this. He didn't expect a kid this age would know about this.

" Well, how I got it is no concern for you kid just help me melt that damn thing, " The man said as he took out a bucket from somewhere. In it, there were some ores that were not processed.

"Okay okay, I was just asking, "Aklira said as he shrugged. He was just curious.
