Fake Professor, Misunderstood As Strong

Chapter 239: Jareth's scheming something again!

"B-But then what about Mr. Jareth? He wasn't teleported with us! We don't know where he is right now…"

*AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!*

Just when Sylvie was feeling confused about what to do, an extremely loud scream rang out in the entire forbidden area.

Usually, it wouldn't be possible to hear screams from so far away, but that scream carried such pain and fear in it that everyone could hear it from far away.

Nathan literally ripped apart his throat from screaming too loudly like that, but the pain didn't allow him to stop, and he kept screaming at the top of his lungs till the end.

"Wh-what was that!? Who's voice was that!?"

As the group panicked, Mark narrowed his eyes and replied in a calm tone,

"That's definitely not Professor Jareth's voice… I haven't ever heard him talk in a loud tone, let alone scream; he always talks in a cold or calm tone…"

Risa and Azul also nodded their heads at those words.

"That's definitely someone else's voice… Professor Jareth's voice would carry a more sense of authority and intimidation… Perhaps he caught that 'Fisur' guy and is beating him up now…"

Rena contemplated for a while and then spoke in a calm voice.

"I can sense a very powerful presence in the central training grounds… that's likely Mr. Jareth… But I can also sense that there's insanely dense miasma around in that place…"

"And hundreds of thousands of monsters and demons are rushing out of the miasmic rift that has already opened…"

Rena got up at that moment and summoned her wand.

"I will go and help Mr. Jareth delay the monsters and demons… Sylvia, you take the rest and retreat-"

*--_-_--__-___---------___---*

Just as Rena was about to instruct the group to evacuate and move towards the central area, she abruptly noticed powerful mana fluctuations approaching her direction.

The mana fluctuations had a very specific pattern to them, and they seemed to function in some kind of hidden message.

The sophistication and efficiency of those mana fluctuations momentarily surprised Rena, but she quickly deciphered the message.

'It's a message that came from the central training area… Is that person sending me some kind of message?'

Using mana fluctuation in the atmosphere to communicate and relay important information during combat and wars without even the need of a proper tool or artifact for it.

That is something only Grade-1 mages can do. Jareth used his mana detection and figured out that Rena had woken up.

So, he aimed the mana fluctuations in the group's direction and relayed his message to her in a fast and secure way.

Rena immediately stopped on the spot and decoded the message in her head.

[Bring Azul, Mark, and Risa to the central training area.]

A confused look appeared on Rena's face after decoding the message; she figured out that Jareth was asking her to bring his three disciples to the central area.

But she couldn't understand why.

The three of them are just kids who aren't even proper grade-3 mages as of yet; they can't even fight the siege of the demon army for a while.

Bringing them to the central area is just like making them commit suic*de on purpose; they won't even be able to protect themselves from the assault of miasma.

Rena clenched her teeth and informed the group about Jareth's message.

"It's up to you; you can go back with Sylvie and escape from this hellhole, or you can come with me and head towards the central area…"

Rena, an elf herself, possesses the compassion of her fellow elves, and the idea of sacrificing these three children for the benefit of the others was unbearable to her.

She would rather sacrifice her own life instead for her people; this problem is of the Elven Empire in the first place; it's better if she's the one to solve it, and troubling humans with it is a great shame on her pride.

"We will go to the central area… Professor Jareth is never wrong; we are sure that he must have a reason for this…"

Mark and the group already considered Jareth as their teacher, so they decided to put their trust in him.

They have misunderstood Jareth's capabilities and think that he has always been strong and has won every battle.

Thus, the three of them didn't hesitate for even a single second before agreeing to heading in Jareth's direction, despite the fact that the place has become a literal hell at this point.

"Sigh… I guess I will have to believe that your teacher does have a plan… I will cover you all with my own mana shield, so as to protect you from miasma…"

"Sylvie, you head out using the same hole that you used to enter and try to evacuate the citizens so that we can prepare for the worst-case scenario…"

Rena waved her wand and cast the mana shield on Mark and the other two, then the four of them immediately flew in the direction of the central training grounds.

Sylvie also gathered the three wizards and prepared to head outside.

These turns of events were completely unexpected, but now that things have gone completely haywire from the original plan, they have no choice but to adapt accordingly.

Central training grounds.

Jareth glanced at the giant snake monster, fleeing from the spreading miasma, and used his mana detection to track down the location of the two puppets.

'The two puppets seem to have retained a bit of their previous self… That's likely why they escaped when Fisur's control over them loosened…'

'Now that Fisur's body has been completely swallowed by miasma, the connection between them has completely broken, and the two puppets have become free…'

'They won't pose a threat for now; the snake has also broken out of the brainwashing and is escaping underground by digging holes in the ground… It is also not going to pose anymore threats for a while…'

Jareth glanced at his wristwatch and noticed that a few minutes had passed since the miasmic rift opened.

'My message must have reached them already; they are head towards my direction… Nathan was the biggest threat to this plan, and now that he's out of picture…'

'I just need to keep the area clear of any dangerous presence…'

Jareth waved his hand, and hundreds of gigantic mana circles appeared everywhere.

[Basic Magic: Mana Beam Barrage!]

The very moment any demon or monster of grade 3 or above came out of the miasmic rift, Jareth bombarded it with powerful mana beams and reduced it to powder in an instant.

'For now, I can ignore the lower-grade demons and monsters… but I must not let any high-grade demon or monster stay here… The blow must be as stable as possible…'

Jareth continued to use his mana detection at full capacity to monitor all activities within the forbidden area while he waited for Mark and the others to arrive.

'Where did Fisur's body go though? I would have completely burned his body earlier if not for the miasmic rift to suddenly swallow him with the miasma…'

Right now, the only thing that can cause any problems in the plan is Fisur's body.

The miasma must have mutated his body beyond recognition by now, and his body will mutate, then it will be used to cause more destruction and rampage.

Jareth wants to deal with the miasmic rift once and for all; it would spell a lot of trouble if Fisur isn't taken care of on time.

'Where are you, Come out already. I promise I will just give you a few gentle pats on the shoulder, nothing else…'

As if responding to Jareth's thoughts, the mud-like corruption started to move away in a particular space, and weird amalgamations of flesh and miasma started to appear.

*KEEEERRRRRRRREEEEEEKKKKKK*

An extremely eerie voice rang out in the area; it was so creepy to listen to that even a grade-1 mage would end up having goosebumps all over their body from hearing it.

The weirdly creepy voice seemed to carry immense pain, suffering, and madness all at once.

'Ah, there you are!'

Jareth had used a 'forbidden magic' on Fisur earlier, causing him to faint, then the concentrated corrupted mud swallowed him when he was unconscious, causing his body to mutate horribly.

Then, with his last bit of sanity, he woke up and brought out a syringe from his space ring and injected the suspicious-looking liquid inside it into himself.

Jareth failed to detect this because at that moment Fisur was completely covered in miasma and there was no mana around to produce any mana fluctuation.

Even Mana singularity can't detect something if it's completely covered in thick layers of miasma and isn't able to produce any Mana fluctuation at all.

[Grade-2 Fire Magic: Burning Meteor!]

The very moment Jareth noticed the weird mutated body of Fisur appear, he didn't waste a single millisecond and cast a powerful flame magic in an instant!

Although Fisur was definitely scheming something by injecting that weird liquid in his body, when it comes to schemes, Jareth isn't too far behind either; he's also scheming something big in his mind right now.
