Chapter 20: 20. Second.
I placed the bottle of soy sauce into the cart and continued browsing the aisles. The two of us had taken a cab to a nearby supermarket to stock up on groceries.
The house was already well-supplied, but these weren't for immediate consumption—they were for my Gate and inner world. I had already begun cultivating a variety of tropical fruits there, but I wanted to expand my options. Apples, peaches, strawberries, and other fruits whose seeds I could harvest and plant.
Besides fresh produce, I loaded up on drinks and condiments—bottles of soda, cooking oil, BBQ sauce, ketchup, mustard, honey, milk, chocolate milk, strawberry milk, eggs, cream. Staples that wouldn't spoil and, once stored within my Gate, would replenish indefinitely.
I would be at Hogwarts for the next few years, and I had no desire to survive on nothing but pumpkin juice and water.
Butterbeer, though—that was fine. I already had a case of it tucked away.
But there was another reason for the grocery run. I was about to invite a new peerage member, one who, unlike Yue and me, would actually need to eat normal food.
Of course, we could eat, but Yue rarely felt hunger after drinking my blood. And me? Well, I hadn't really needed food in a long time.
Once we finished shopping, we paid for the groceries and headed back home.

Later that evening, I sat in my room, the pawn piece resting between my fingers.
The second person I was going to summon wasn't a mage. She was an assassin.
I activated the piece, and just like before, I was swept away into the dream space.
Across from me stood a new figure.
A skull-like mask. A sleek, black leotard clinging to a lithe, dancer-like frame. Toned legs, poised with perfect balance. Emotionless purple eyes, dark violet hair, and smooth, chocolate-colored skin.
She stood completely still, her gaze locked onto mine as the information of the summoning entered her mind.
She didn't react. No surprise, no hesitation. Just cold, detached silence.
"Hello," I said, stepping forward. "My name is Ryan. I believe I can offer you what you desire most."
Her purple eyes tracked me, unblinking. For the briefest moment, something flickered behind their emptiness.
"You know my desire?" Her voice was quiet. Emotionless.
"I do." I stopped just within arm's reach. "My body is special. I'm immortal."
I reached out and touched her face.
A sharp intake of breath. A twitch of her fingers. And in her gaze, that flicker of something changed—dangerous, intense.
Desire. Devotion. Hope.
"Are you willing to serve me?"
She dropped to her knees instantly. "Master, I am willing."
The sheer fanaticism in her voice sent a chill through me. This was absolute loyalty. Unquestioning. Unwavering.
She would kill for me. Die for me. Without hesitation, without remorse. It didn't matter if it was men, women, or children—her hands would be stained in blood the moment I willed it.
"Perfect."
I pressed the pawn piece to her chest.
A flash of light.
---
The connection snapped into place as she materialized before me in the waking world.
[Hassan of Serenity has joined the peerage.]
[Fate has been unlocked for travel.]
The moment she appeared, she dropped to one knee, bowing her head. "Master."
I reached out again, touching her face. This time, I felt only a faint tingle, barely noticeable.
Serenity's violet eyes gleamed with something unreadable beneath her mask. "Master, may I have permission to touch you?"
Hassan of Serenity—the Poison Girl.
Everything about her was toxic. Her skin, body fluids, even her hair could kill with the lightest touch. A master of assassination, information gathering, and disguise. A lethal shadow, trained for death.
"Yes."
Her hands stretched out slowly, almost reverently, before pressing against my face.
All I felt was warmth.
Beneath her mask, her lips curled into a smile—small, but genuine. "You are immune."
If I weren't, I'd be dead several times over by now.
Yue, sitting nearby, watched curiously. She had listened patiently as I explained Serenity's nature, and despite her usual indifference to strangers, I could see a flicker of pity in her crimson eyes.
"You can remove your mask," I told Serenity. "And from now on, you'll go by Serenity or Sera."
"Yes, Master."
She reached up, slowly lifting the mask away.
The face beneath was beautiful. Delicate, refined features, her expression tinged with wonder as if she still couldn't believe what was happening.
She looked about eighteen, though she was petite, her body honed into the perfect balance of grace and lethality.
"You won't be attending Hogwarts as a student," I continued. "It's too dangerous. A school full of children isn't the best place for someone whose touch is deadly. But you will be coming with us—I have need of your skills there."
Serenity bowed her head. "As you command, Master."
"Do you retain your Servant abilities?" I asked.
She nodded. "Yes, Master. However, my body has been remade. I no longer require mana to sustain myself or use my abilities. I can completely erase my presence, transform, and activate my Noble Phantasm freely."
She demonstrated by vanishing from sight entirely. Then, in the next instant, she reappeared—a perfect replica of Yue.
Yue's crimson eyes narrowed slightly as she examined her double. "...Interesting."
"Perfect," I said, satisfied.
I gestured between them. "Yue, this is Serenity. Serenity, this is Yue. You both belong to me, so no fighting. Also, I don't know if Yue can handle your poison with her immortality."
Yue met Serenity's gaze. Then, without hesitation, she reached out and grasped her hand.
"I'm immune to poisons," Yue stated simply.
Serenity's eyes widened in pure, unfiltered delight.
Two people.
Two people in the entire world could touch her and not die.
She didn't say anything, but the way she looked at Yue changed instantly. Her opinion of my first peerage member had risen several levels in a mere instant.
I exhaled.
Now I had two clingy peerage members who craved physical affection.
Could I have summoned a stronger Servant from the Fate universe? Probably.
But someone more loyal, more devoted, and easier to handle?
Doubtful.
And for now, that was enough.
