The different types of magic clashed in an instant, and the opposing magic bullets collided mid-air, exploding on impact.

A blinding white light flashed before both their eyes, like a flashbang going off, temporarily robbing them of their vision. For that brief moment, neither side gained the upper hand.

In a fit of fury, Aoko Aozaki showed no signs of holding back. In the next instant, she continued her assault. Blue energy flared up around her, and her body shot forward like a cannonball. In a single breath, she closed the distance and threw a heavy punch at Roy.

There was no testing of the waters, no setup; Aoko was fully intent on killing him with this attack.

Aoko's sudden approach caught Roy by surprise.
