Fear and Hunger, Gamer Soul

Chapter 7: Chapter 6

As they approached the source of the screams, they found a soldier running towards them.

"Please help!"

Before anyone could react, the man who was running suddenly became motionless.

Half of his torso was cut off, his upper body falling forward and his lower body falling back.

Looking at the person responsible, Rudimer was surprised to see that it was another soldier. Observing the soldier, Rudimer noticed that his body showed signs of deterioration and around him he exuded a blood-red aura. In his hand he carried a sword with an eye in the center that moved from side to side as if the weapon had a life of its own.

Seeing the weapon, Leon gave a small smile and took a step forward.

"Let me take care of this!"

The soldier with a crazy look locked his eyes on Leon and then advanced with incredible speed towards him.

Seeing the soldier advance towards him, Leon gave a slight smile.

Without wasting any time, the soldier brandished his sword towards Leon's neck, who simply raised his sword to defend himself against the blow, which was stronger than he had imagined, making him retreat a little.

Leon then took a small step back to gain space and then brandished his sword towards the soldier, trying to split his body in half.

The soldier took a step back and then tried to hit Leon's neck again, who barely dodged it.

This exchange of blows continued for a few moments, until Leon, defending himself from another blow, gathered all the strength in his leg and kicked the soldier's leg, making him lose his balance.

This brief moment was all Leon needed and with a swing of his sword he cut the soldier's head in half, causing the upper part of his face at the height of his nose to fall to the ground and then with another swing of his sword he cut off the arm of the soldier who was wielding the sword.

[You received 200 experience points]

Looking at the experience points gained, Leon couldn't help but smile a little, it really was profitable.

Before Leon could think any further he started to hear a whisper in his mind.

'Do you want to use me?'

Looking around for a moment Leon finally realized, looking at the ground he saw the sword's eye stare at him.

'Chaos, pain, misery, These are the reasons why I was created.'

'If you use me you will gain a strength you never imagined.'

If it were before, Leon might have had doubts about picking up this sword, but after allocating the points gained in his last life he felt confident.

It was 8 months with his mind under the complete control of someone else but you can be sure of one thing... He killed a lot in those 8 months, and as incredible as it may seem his mind was so disturbed that he didn't use even once the attribute points he gained.

His Mind attribute was 6 times higher than a grown man's, since his mind was controlled Leon almost put all his attribute points into Mind.

But he managed to control himself and distribute some points into other attributes.

If it weren't for the extra worry he had he could have gone to kill Catherine immediately, but the thought of having to experience the scene of being devoured alive if he failed was terrifying.

That's why he had an extra concern for this woman... But now with this sword.

She would just be an obedient tool that would help him.

Extending his hand towards the sword...

"Leon! Don't do it! It's the sword!" Rudimer shouted trying to warn Leon.

But ignoring him, Leon grabbed the sword and held it tightly.

'Yes! That's it! You miserable worm, now obey me!'

Leon began to feel his arm start to heat up and an irritating buzzing in his mind.

'Obey me! Obey me! Obey me! ...'

Feeling irritated by the voice in his mind.

'Be quiet, now I understand why whoever holds you loses their mind, you are as annoying as a spoiled child!'

' •_• '

The sword could not help but be speechless upon hearing what Leon was saying.

Never in its grand existence had anyone had the audacity to compare it to a spoiled child.

'You insolent mortal, how dare you compare me....'

'Yes, yes, you are incredible, I get it! Now obey quietly and don't talk anymore.'

The sword didn't know what to feel at that moment.

Its existence tormented the lives of hundreds of warriors who dared to hold it, but now, a miserable child who had not even lived two decades was not submitting to it and even worse, was humiliating it, such a humble being, humiliating the legendary sword Miasma.

'Listen here, you miserable little mortal, things will work like this, I will take control of your body and kill everyone you love, all your relatives, friends and...'

Ignoring the sword's words, Leon turned to Rudimer who was approaching cautiously with his sword in hand.

"I'm fine, Captain! It's just a sword that talks too much."

Hearing this, Rudimer breathed a sigh of relief.

"Don't do something so reckless again, I thought I would have to face you, you don't know what a headache that would be hahaha."

Rudimer scolded him lightly with a light laugh at the end.

"Relax, Captain, between heaven and earth, I am the most honorable."

"Of course, of course, you are the strongest!" Rudimer spoke exasperatedly and tiredly as if he had heard this phrase thousands of times in the past few days.

"I see that my fame has reached you, Captain!"

Putting that matter aside, Rudimer looked at the sword.

"Are you sure you're going to keep holding that sword? It looks really evil..."

Rudimer spoke as he looked at the sword that seemed to be shaking in revolt, while its eyes seemed to stare at Leon with hatred.

"Relax, she's just going through puberty, or maybe she's fallen in love with me, who knows what thoughts swords can have."

Upon hearing that, the sword trembled, as if it was denying all of Leon's statements.

Putting the matter aside, Rudimer and Leon began to return to the group of soldiers that were waiting for them.

Thanks for everyone's support! I'm already feeling better and have some good ideas for future chapters, but I'd like to know your opinion about D'arce. Do you think Leon should find a way to steal her from Le'garde, or should Leon just ignore her?

If anyone has some spare time and can review this work, I would greatly appreciate it.

Next chapter will be updated first on this website. Come back and continue reading tomorrow, everyone!
