First Immortal of the Sword

Chapter 1997: Autumn in the Human Realm

Chapter 1997: Autumn in the Human Realm

The Human Realm, the Eastern Profound Star Domain.

The Divine Capital Star Realm was the greatest star realm around, the heart of the Eastern Profound Star Domain. It was also the Temple Master’s birthplace.

Su Yi had once fought here too.

In one of its many bustling cities, human traffic coursed through crowded streets. It was incomparably lively.

“Did you hear? The Immortal Realm’s Church of the Pure One is recruiting disciples again. They say that numerous prominent factions have submitted to them and agreed to do their bidding!”

“It’s getting livelier and livelier. In another month, the gate to the Immortal Realm will reappear. I wonder how many experts will ascend this time.”

“I heard that when the gate opens, numerous prominent experts of the Immortal Realm will descend into the Human Realm to capture those connected to Su Yi!”

“Argh. What are they even doing? Over the past six years, those experts of the Immortal Realm have been recruiting subordinates, and now, they’re after Sword Venerate Su’s friends and family. It’s simply… There are no words!”

…A discussion arose in a restaurant.

Although no one noticed him, a young man sat beside the window. He was dressed in blue, elegantly handsome and detached.

This was none other than Su Yi, or rather, his avatar of will.

It hadn’t been long since he’d sent it into the Human Realm.

When he heard the crowd’s discussion, Su Yi couldn’t help but frown. The forces of the Church of the Pure One have been capturing those connected to me in the Human Realm?

That shouldn’t be happening. After all, I wiped the Church of the Pure One, the Church of Supreme Oneness, and the Church of Divine Flame out over a year ago!

As Su Yi pondered, he rose to ask the diners for more information. Before long, he’d learned the gist of the situation.

It turned out that a year after he’d entered the Immortal Realm, a portal had opened between the Human and Immortal Realms, and a group of experts had descended into the Eastern Profound Star Domain.

Their ranks included experts of the Church of the Pure One.

They’d come to the Eastern Profound Star Domain specifically to hunt down those connected to Su Yi.

Five years had passed since then. The portal between realms only opened once every five years.

In other words, the Church of the Pure One experts here had no idea what had happened in the Immortal Realm over the past five years. They had no idea of any of the earth-shaking developments that had taken place. They didn’t even know that their sect had been destroyed!

All of this was because no information could spread between realms!

The portal would open again in just one month. When the time came, information about the Immortal Realm’s last five years would finally reach the Eastern Profound Star Domain.

When Su Yi learned this, he couldn’t help but sigh. They want to take my loved ones hostage. It’s an extremely vulgar method, but it’s been used throughout the ages. Why?

Because such threats are extremely effective against the vast majority of people!

Su Yi inwardly celebrated that the Dark and Gold Star Realm had been hidden, effectively vanishing from this world completely. Otherwise, who knew how many schemes his enemies would have gotten up to?

Su Yi wasn’t afraid of threats, but when threats arose, he naturally couldn’t remain unmoved. Bonds were a form of fetters. Everyone who had friends and family was subject to these restrictions.

Su Yi’s thoughts raced. But it doesn’t matter how many of those connected to me they’ve captured. They want to threaten me, so I’m sure the captives are unharmed.

Furthermore, when Daoist Master Red Cloud left for the Immortal Realm, she made arrangements for my old friends. Given her abilities as an Immortal Lady, I’m sure she left backup measures in place to prevent anything unexpected from happening to them.

Suddenly, a commotion emanated from a distant street.

“A sword immortal has appeared in the city. He says he’s going to shatter Sword Venerate Su’s statue!”

“What? Hurry, let’s go see what’s happening!”

….A clamor of voices arose on all sides, and numerous people rushed toward the city center.

Shatter the what now? I have a statue? Since when? Su Yi was stunned.

Meanwhile, one of the diners was staring at Su Yi with a strange look in his eyes. He grinned and said, “Young man, disguising yourself as Sword Venerate Su is a bad idea. If someone from the Church of the Pure One sees you, you’ll be finished!”

The warning drew many of the other diners’ attention. All of them looked at Su Yi. All of them discovered, much to their surprise, that Su Yi looked extremely similar to the statue of Sword Venerate Su at the city’s center!

“I am Su Yi. Why would I need to disguise myself as myself?” Su Yi laughed, then got up and left the restaurant.

The dinners burst into uproarious laughter. Sword Venerate Su left for the Immortal Realm six years ago. If he were really in the Eastern Profound Star Domain, the experts of the Church of the Pure One would have captured him a long time ago!

That young man actually dares to impersonate Sword Venerate Su? How ridiculous is that!

No, how reckless is that? Who doesn’t know that experts of the Immortal Realm are hunting everyone related to Sword Venerate Su?

Yet here that kid is, proclaiming himself Sword Venerate Su himself. If that isn’t suicidal foolhardiness, what is it?

Shortly afterward, in the city center.

A thousand-foot statue towered over the surrounding area. It depicted a young man with his hands behind his back. His clothing billowed around him, his face was handsome, and he stared into the heavens at an angle. He was just a statue, yet he had a prideful air about him, as if he were gazing down upon all of creation.

This was indeed a statue of Su Yi!

Numerous people had gathered nearby, watching from a distance. A black-robed figure emanating forceful immortal qi now hovered over the statue. Then, beneath countless gazes, he placed his feet on the statue’s head.

This was an unmistakable expression of disrespect for Su Yi, and the crowd's hearts filled with displeasure. Sword Venerate Su was an expert revered throughout the stars, yet now, someone was trampling his statue. Who wouldn’t have been displeased?

“Sword Venerate Su was supreme amongst the stars, his sword suppressing its three thousand worlds. He was the strongest swordsman in the Human Realm!” an old man said in a low voice. “That’s why statues of him have been placed throughout the Eastern Profound Star Domain, wherever cultivators gather, to honor his achievements and encourage others to follow his example. Who could have anticipated that something like this would happen?”

The crowd’s hearts churned. Many of them were displeased.

But no one dared to say anything.

The man in black emanated the characteristic imposing aura of an immortal. He had a sword on his back and an imposing aura. It was obvious that he was a prominent expert of the Immortal Realm. Who’d dare to complain?

Although the old man spoke softly, the man in black would have heard him even if he’d been quieter. He couldn’t help but snicker. “The greatest expert of the stars, and the strongest swordsman of the Human Realm? You say that because until recently, none of us could come to the Immortal Realm. Otherwise, he would never have gotten the chance to enjoy such ill-deserved fame.”

His tone dripped with disdain.

The crowd fell silent. None of them dared to argue.

“I’ve crushed similar statues of Su Yi in one hundred and five cities of the Eastern Profound Star Domain already.” The man in black gazed down at the crowd, a playful grin tugging at his lips. “Sometimes, people objected. They accused me of slandering and degrading the ‘Sword Venerate Su’ they revered like a god, and they criticized me harshly. What do you think happened to those people in the end?”

The crowd exchanged glances.

“All of them are dead,” said the man with a wanton, unrestrained laugh. "Not one of them survived. It’s true what they say: loose lips lead to disaster! Now, I plan to crush this statue too. Before I do, let me ask you this. Do any of you object?”

Deathly silence ensued. Not one person dared respond.

The man in black couldn’t help but be disappointed. “It seems your reverence for Su Yi isn’t all that sincere after all. You’re too afraid to even rebuke me, let alone stop me!”

Then, he suddenly stretched out his hand and pulled the old man who’d spoken up earlier to him.

“What are you going to do to me?” the old man cried out in panic.

The man in black grinned. “It seems you’re displeased with my behavior. Naturally, I ought to destroy you along with the statue!”

The old man panicked. Shockingly, he was so scared that he lost control of his bladder and peed all over the statue’s head.

The man in black froze, stunned, then threw back his head and burst into mad laughter. “See that? The old man pissed all over Su Yi’s head!”

The crowd lowered their heads. None dared object, but all of them felt stifled.

This was more than just an insult to Sword Venerate Su. He was trampling the dignity of everyone present!

“I’ll follow your example!” The man in black suddenly loosened his belt. To the crowd’s shock, he whipped out his member and peed all over the statue’s head without a moment’s hesitation.

It was simply sick and depraved. Numerous people averted their gazes; they couldn’t bear to watch.

But it was then that something unbelievable happened. Before the urine splattered the stone, it flew backward and splashed the man in black right in the face.

Piping hot piss dripped down the man’s cheeks. He froze, completely gobsmacked. The veins bulged on his forehead.

A deathly silence fell over the crowd. Everyone was astonished.

Everyone’s eyes widened in disbelief. That sword immortal actually pissed all over his own face!?

“Who did that!? Get the hell out here——!” The man in black roared in anger and humiliation, his eyes bulging and his face hideous. He was completely mad with fury, to the point that his aura of the Immortal Dao shook both heaven and earth.

Splurt!

A muffled impact rang out, and a bloody object flew through the air, thudded to the ground, and crumbled into ash.

The man in black clutched his crotch in agony, his eyes bulging as if about to burst, all the while shrieking like a slaughtered pig.

“Aaaah——!!!”

Every man in the audience shuddered, and they each felt a chill and an ache in their nether regions.

At the same time, many in the crowd couldn’t help but burst into uproarious laughter. It was all just… too ridiculous!!

The sword immortal hadn’t just pissed himself. Now, he’d been castrated too!

Could it be that the heavens themselves were punishing this blind fool of an immortal? Otherwise, how could something so unbelievable have happened?

“Who did that? Dare you face me?” The man roared, red-eyed and senseless with fury and humiliation.

As he spoke, he tightened his grip on the old man, intent on crushing him to death.

It was a simple movement, or at least, it should have been. However, a terrifying pressure had restricted him completely, forcing him to kneel on the statue’s head!

It was then that the man in black finally caught sight of the culprit: a young man in blue robes. He was almost identical to the statue!

The man in black reacted as if struck by lightning, and his eyes bulged. Is that Su Yi!?

Seth's Thoughts

"Sword Venerate Su" is a new title, never before seen in the novel, so it presumably startled circulating after Su Yi left the Human Realm.
