Chapter : The Kingdom of August

Summary of the first 20 chapter basically the whole setting of Kingdom August, Guilds and Wizard Ranks

The Kingdom of August, a land steeped in magic and legacy, stands as one of the most powerful realms in the world. Founded centuries ago by Leopold August the First, the kingdom rose from the ashes of war-torn territories, uniting fractured lands under a single banner. It is a nation where magic determines status, power shapes destiny, and history is written by those strong enough to wield it.

The Founding of August

Before August became a kingdom, the land was divided among warring factions, each ruled by petty kings and ambitious warlords. Chaos reigned, and magic—once revered as a sacred gift—became a tool of destruction.

Leopold August the First, a brilliant strategist and formidable mage, sought to change this. Unlike other rulers, he did not rely solely on his magical prowess but on alliances, diplomacy, and sheer willpower. Through years of battle and negotiation, he united the scattered territories and declared himself the first King of August, establishing a monarchy built on order, strength, and magical supremacy.

His greatest achievement, however, was not just military conquest—it was the creation of the Guild System.

The Guild System & Wizard Hierarchy

Realizing that unregulated magic could lead to anarchy, King Leopold founded the Guilds—organizations responsible for training, regulating, and governing wizards. Over time, these guilds became the backbone of August's magical society, each specializing in different forms of magic and combat.

To ensure structure, a universal ranking system was implemented across all guilds:

Apprentice – New recruits, still in training. Lowest rank.

Adept – Trained wizards capable of handling low-risk missions. Master – The core of each guild, skilled in magic and trusted with leadership roles.

Elite – Rare wizards, exceptional in power and influence. Only a handful exist in each guild.

Archon – Above the guilds, the kingdom's most powerful wizards, entrusted with maintaining balance.

To ascend beyond Master, a wizard must pass a trial administered by the kingdom's magical authorities. Only the strongest can become Elite, and fewer still can claim the title of Archon, chosen by the kingdom's ruler to oversee magic itself.

At the pinnacle of the Archons is the Commander-in-Chief of the kingdom's army, the strongest mage in August, second only to the reigning monarch.

The Rule of the Archons

Though the Guilds were created to maintain order, true power in August belongs to the Archons. These legendary wizards serve as both protectors and enforcers, ensuring that magic does not fall into the wrong hands.

However, over the centuries, the Archons have become more than guardians—they have become rulers in their own right. Some believe they uphold the balance, while others whisper that they manipulate magic to serve their own agenda.

There are rumors that certain magics have been outlawed not because they are dangerous, but because they threaten the Archons' power. Among these is Elemental Magic, the rawest and most ancient form of elemental magic—so powerful that only a handful of mages in history have ever wielded it.

A Kingdom on the Brink

The Kingdom of August appears stable, but beneath the surface, tensions are rising.

The Missing Guild Master – The leader of Emberlight vanished years ago, and whispers suggest his disappearance is linked to the

Archons' secrets. The Forbidden Magics – Rumors spread of wizards awakening powers that should not exist—powers that could challenge the kingdom's rulers.

The Elemental Fragments – Lost relics from an older age, tied to the true source of magic.

As the world changes, the question remains: Will August's rule endure, or will the flames of rebellion consume it?
