Their fur had become matted from the serious injuries they had sustained, as well as the surgery and subsequent acupuncture and herbal fumigation treatments.

Cats are very clean creatures, and Clouded Leopards are no exception.

Leo would be able to start living independently from his mother by summertime, but the Little Cub was not ready yet.

Chen Ying's plan was to let Leo first live independently in Great Bai's territory for a while before guiding him to migrate deeper into the mountains.

Deep is relative; it was roughly in a triangular intersection with the territories of Big-Eared Bear and Great Bai.

Great Bai was in his prime, while Big-Eared Bear was estimated to be about eleven years old, so he too was in his prime.

Protected by his foster father and uncle, Leo could learn how to occupy and guard his own territory.

If he really couldn't beat them, he could always come back and call for reinforcements.

As for the Little Cub, he could also rely on Leo's territory to expand his own domain in the future.

Speaking of which, it was unknown how Sesame, that little Bear rascal, was doing.

Hopefully, he hadn't gotten lost again while migrating south with his mother.

As the weather grew warmer by the day, the Protection Station increased its patrol range and frequency.

Daddy Xu, seeing the notice sent out in his work group, started worrying about Foodie Fu.

That Fat Girl had not mentioned taking the opportunity to check out male bears in the last few days; instead, she had been avoiding them, spending her days eating or soaking in the river, like a carefree, silly girl.

If a Male Bear approached her, she would either threaten him, using her size advantage to chase him away, or she would just run away as a sign of respect.

Watching this was heart-wrenching for Daddy Xu, almost making him want to write an essay for his precious daughter.

Chen Ying, looking at Foodie Fu's carefree and naïve demeanor, was reminded of another Giant Panda—Big-Eared Bear.

Why not try and let them meet?

What if they had some common language? Since their bear attitudes were not much different, maybe they really could hit it off.

After sharing the plan with Daddy Xu, he agreed wholeheartedly.

"Fufu, let's go, I'll take you to eat something delicious."

Once the decision was made, they got to work. Chen Ying led Foodie Fu around the small building and moved towards Hot Spring Gully.

They took the southern path because on the northern side there were Black Bear Sister and her two cubs; it was best not to disturb them.

Apart from the southern path being a bit rough to travel, there was no shortage of food and water.

Foodie Fu was obedient; as long as there was something tasty, why not go for it? At most, she would be carried back to the center. After all, she didn't need a very large territory; she just needed food and shelter.

Every bear's life goal varies, just like humans, there are those who are naturally lazy.

As they neared Hot Spring Gully, Foodie Fu suddenly sniffed the air and dashed forward at a run.

Chen Ying and Daddy Xu hurried after her and upon arrival, wow, Foodie Fu truly lived up to her name as a foodie.

A young, medium-sized Giant Panda was tearing apart a Bamboo rat. Seeing Foodie Fu rushing over, it bared its teeth.

As Foodie Fu trotted closer, she began to whimper, and even performed her special skills of rolling over and flipping.

The other panda's face stiffened—what was this about?

Foodie Fu approached, making soft noises, his nose brushed against the person's thigh, he sat down, and drooled over the bamboo rat in their paw.

That greedy look was just too shameless to watch.

Daddy Xu covered his face with an expression of agony, unwilling to admit that this was the fat girl he had painstakingly raised.

Like come on, she's never been short of food, was that really necessary?

The young panda glanced at the bamboo rat in his hand, then at the drooling yet seemingly well-behaved Foodie Fu, and finally, he gave half of it to him.

After eating, the young panda twisted his body, ready to leave.

Finishing the rare delicacy in just a few bites, Foodie Fu quickly got up and followed behind, completely forgetting about the two two-legged beasts behind him.

"Well, looks like your precious daughter won't have to worry about finding a partner, though I'm not sure whether that panda is an adult yet."

But generally speaking, the giant pandas that come here from other places are definitely influenced by their hormones to follow the guidance within their genes, moving towards where their own kind are.

Otherwise, normal giant pandas live alone; when two bears meet, a fight is inevitable.

Of course, Great Bai and Jiaojiao, this odd couple, are exceptions.

Seeing that the young giant panda was heading toward Hot Spring Gully, Chen Ying decided not to follow, there were infrared cameras there, all he needed to do was to check the footage after some time.

As for Daddy Xu, his main task was to monitor Fufu's behavioral track, so he would have to work hard during this period.

In a blink of an eye, the clouded leopards' treatment period had reached ten days.

The two female leopards could now move around freely, albeit limited.

Their living quarters had also moved from the observation room cages to specially made animal sheds.

They still had some problems jumping, but short-distance climbing on trees posed no difficulty.

However, in the wild, climbing and leaping through the trees are essential survival skills for clouded leopards; they still need to continue treatment until they fully recover.

After the treatment here at the emergency station is over, they will return to the Protection Station in Dian Province to continue their rehabilitation until they are fully capable of living in the wild again.

What Chen Ying hadn't expected was that both female leopards had entered their estrus period during recovery.

Although it's still arguably winter here in January and February, clouded leopards in Dian Province typically have their mating season from December to January.

The slightly larger female leopard wasn't interested in the sister-obsessed clouded leopard, but the other one sent an invitation for cuddles to the sister-obsessed clouded leopard.

The recipient of the invitation looked utterly baffled, not sure what to do.

Chen Ying raised an eyebrow, "Haven't you always wanted to find a pretty girl? What, you don't fancy her now?"

It wasn't a matter of not fancying her, it's just that, well, the sister-obsessed felt a bit uncomfortable getting it on with another leopard in front of his sister.

"No worries, I can set up a temporary bridal chamber for you two in the woods. But be gentle, she's still not fully healed," Chen Ying added.

The clouded leopard showed a mock threat by opening its mouth at Chen Ying, then turned its head and silently accepted his arrangement.

"Tsk, another one who's outwardly disdainful but inwardly approving," Chen Ying muttered.

A phone call to Dao Meihua to let her report back to Dian Province that the sister-obsessed clouded leopard and the female leopard were about to reap the fruits of love.

Success or not, they should see the results in two months.

Three days after the call, Dao Meihua came to the emergency station alone.

"Are you serious? They really hit it off?"

Seeing the sister-obsessed clouded leopard and the slender female leopard together in a separate animal shed, Dao Meihua was overjoyed.

"I thought with his sister around, he wouldn't bother with other leopards."

"I didn't expect it either, but he actually agreed."

After all, given his insufferable demeanor when he first arrived, Chen Ying hadn't really thought this would actually happen.

Even compared with the other female leopard, the slender female leopard didn't seem to be the type a clouded leopard would fancy, in terms of body size, fur quality, or strength.
