Forsaken Bloodline

Chapter 17: The Truth

Julian's breath caught in his throat.

The arms around him were firm, yet unsettlingly familiar.

His own face stared back at him in the reflection of a nearby glass capsule—his twin brother, Julial.

"Welcome home, brother."

Julian tore himself away, spinning into a defensive stance. His heart pounded.

"Don't touch me." His voice was cold.

Julial chuckled. "Is that any way to treat family?"

Julian clenched his fists. "You're not my family."

Julial tilted his head, amusement flickering in his silver eyes. "Oh? And what am I then?"

Julian's voice was razor-sharp.

"You're Suzy's murderer."

Julial laughed. Not out of mockery—but as if he expected that answer.

"You still don't understand, do you?" Julial sighed. "You're searching for an enemy. But the truth is… you've always been looking at the wrong person."

Julian's body tensed. "What the hell does that mean?"

Julial took a step forward, unfazed by Julian's hostility.

"It means you've been living a lie," he said. "Everything you know about this school. The rankings. The drugs. Even your own existence."

Julian's eyes darkened.

"Explain."

Julial grinned.

"I was hoping you'd ask."

The Hidden Truth

Julial raised a hand. The dim lights flickered, revealing more of the underground lab.

Suspended in glass chambers were bodies.

Some were unconscious. Some twitched violently, their veins glowing with unnatural energy.

Julian felt a sickness rise in his stomach.

"This…" He swallowed hard. "This is the drug's origin, isn't it?"

Julial nodded. "The drug they all fight over. The one that creates superhumans. This is where it's tested."

Julian's mind raced.

"The students… the ones who disappeared—"

"They were failed experiments," Julial said casually. "Some died. Some were turned into something else."

Julian gritted his teeth. "And you're responsible for all of this?"

Julial shook his head. "I'm just one part of it. The real masterminds are above even me."

Julian's breath caught.

"The Superhuman Mafia," he muttered.

Julial smirked. "Now you're thinking."

Julian's True Identity

Julian exhaled sharply. His mind was spinning.

The drugs. The disappearances. The Superhuman Mafia controlling it all.

But none of that mattered more than one question.

"Why did you kill Suzy?" Julian's voice was dangerously low.

Julial's smirk faded. For the first time, his expression became unreadable.

"Because she got too close to the truth."

Julian's hands shook.

Rage.

Guilt.

A storm of emotions crashed inside him.

"You could have stopped her. You didn't have to kill her."

Julial's silver eyes darkened. "If I hadn't killed her, the Mafia would have."

Julian's mind screamed.

No.

It wasn't an excuse. It wasn't justifiable.

Suzy was dead because of him.

Julian stepped forward.

"You're a monster," he whispered.

Julial sighed. "And what does that make you?"

Julian's fists clenched, but before he could answer—

Julial took another step closer, looking him dead in the eyes.

"Let me tell you a secret," he murmured.

Julian tensed.

Julial's lips curled into a knowing smirk.

"The Top 1 Masterclass Superhuman in this school… is you."

The Revelation

Julian's entire body froze.

The words hit him like a blade.

Him? The Top 1 Masterclass?

No one knew who the strongest fighter was. It was a mystery, a legend whispered in the halls.

But if it was him—

Then why didn't he remember?

Julial smirked at his reaction. "Ah. I see you still don't remember everything."

Julian staggered back. Memories flashed through his mind, but they were fragments.

Blinding light. A battlefield.

Dozens of bodies at his feet.

His own hands covered in blood.

His chest tightened.

"I… I don't remember."

Julial sighed. "Of course you don't. Because you erased your own memories."

Julian's heart stopped.

What?

Julial took another step forward, voice soft.

"You've been running from the truth all this time. You were afraid of your own power, so you locked it away."

Julian's hands trembled.

"No…"

Julial's smile was sad.

"But now, Julian… it's time to wake up."

Julian felt something snap inside him.

A surge of power erupted from his body.

His vision blurred. His breath sharpened.

And suddenly—everything came flooding back.

Memories of battle.

Memories of his strength.

Memories of why he erased it all.

Julian staggered back, eyes wide.

It was all true.

He was the Top 1 Masterclass.

And he had been hiding from himself this entire time.
