Chapter 481: Gojaro Flashback
Masabi's anger flared. He lifted the creature and delivered a series of devastating kicks, each one fracturing bones and tearing muscles. The ground shook with the force of his attacks, and the creature's body became a broken mess of blood and shattered bones.
Feeling a surge of power, the creature's eyes glowed with a malevolent light. "You think you can defeat me? I will show you true power!" it roared.
The air around the creature shimmered as it began to power up. Dark energy swirled around it, forming a pulsating aura. Its wounds started to heal, and its muscles bulged with renewed strength. The ground beneath it cracked and splintered under the immense pressure.
Masabi didn't flinch. He charged forward, delivering a barrage of strikes that broke through the creature's defenses. Each punch and kick landed with precision, shattering bones and rupturing organs. Despite the creature's power-up, Masabi's relentless assault left it reeling.
As the creature neared its end, it summoned a grey cube from the air. "This world has passed selection, but due to angelic intervention, we shall return in a year to see if you can handle a steady invasion," it declared, coughing up blood.
In a final, desperate move, the creature fatally wounded itself. "We will have a fight again in my real form, but for now, I leave this planet with Kaijus to truly test them!" it spat, its voice weakening.
Masabi didn't hesitate. He decapitated the creature with a swift, powerful strike. Its head rolled to the ground, and an orb emerged from its chest, giving a slight chuckle before it faded away.
Tch Masabi stated "You damn coward as he looked up as the portal slowly began to close before dozens of strands of light shot out that began to spin around the globe before slamming into the earth causing a massive shake in the earth.
Masabi took a deep breath before he walked over to Gojaro. He held his shoulder, a deep gash still present from his fight. "Now, who the hell are you exactly and what are you doing on this planet?"
Gojaro, still reeling from the battle, looked confused. "What—what the hell are you talking about? Like I said, I am human. Are you deaf or something?"
Masabi's eyes narrowed. "No human should be using energy, skills, abilities, soul links, any of that! But you stood before an angelic and dare to claim yourself to be human?!"
A green energy began to ripple around Masabi's hand as his fist tightened. He prepared to swing at Gojaro, who was about to jump back when a sword intercepted the strike. Strings began to wrap around Masabi's arms as both Rosa and Oscar stepped in front of Gojaro.
"Sorry to keep you waiting," Rosa said, her voice steady. "We just finished dealing with downtown New York... or what is left of it. So many dead bodies and so much loss of life, sir. We saved everyone we could. What happened to that big creature?"
"The person in front of you killed him, and now he seems to be turned on us."
Masabi took a deep breath, the anger in his eyes turning to nonchalance. "So now we have a young man with a flaming sword and a fox tribe girl with fire webs. What is going on here? I will ask one more time before erasing you all from existence."
Gojaro thought for a moment as a flashback slammed into his memory.

Gojaro walked down the corridor, his footsteps echoing off the walls. He pulled the handle of a heavy wooden door open and stepped inside to find Master Ash and the Director sitting together. A stacked folder lay in front of them on the table.
The Director looked up, his expression serious yet welcoming. "Thank you for coming in, Gojaro. I am pleased with the progress you have made since lending your skills to the safety of humanity."
"Of course, sir. I won't stop until I kill them all and avenge my family estate," Gojaro replied, his voice filled with determination. "What can I do for you and Master Ash today?"
Master Ash sat silently, her hands clasped together as she stared intently at the folder in front of her.
The Director continued, answering Gojaro's question. "We have a special mission for you. One that requires your unique abilities and dedication. This mission could change everything in our fight against these creatures."
Gojaro listened intently, feeling the weight of the responsibility being placed upon him. "I'm ready. Tell me what I need to do."
"Nothing you need to do right now, but after successfully killing your 50th invasion monster and assisting the Japanese Defense Force, you are hereby recognized as a Master and will be trusted to train and develop those who pass the selection process with the crystal."
Gojaro felt his heart sink as he gave a deep bow. "Th-thank you, sir. I don't know what to think. All I care about is killing these monsters, but I greatly appreciate it!"
"Yes, but further, I would like to share information that might be obvious to you but on another level."
"We humans aren't the only intelligent minds in this world... or universe, I should say."
Gojaro nodded. "Yes, obviously, because of the monsters that invade our world."
Master Ash slid the folder over to him. "Go ahead and take a look at some of the images."
Gojaro opened the folder, his eyes widening as he saw images of creatures with widespread wings, odd-looking eyes, and forms of many different colors and shapes. The pictures were crisp and clear, not just drawings.
"Wh-what is all of this? These aren't drawings; these are pictures!"
The Director leaned forward. "I will keep this short for now. There are more threats to us than the Vale Monsters. It's mainly the Angelic race. They are the reason why we have the crystal that restricts us. Should they ever find out about our existence, I imagine it would turn bad real quick."
