From Human to Skeleton: Revived with Infinite System Crystals

Chapter 484: Slash and Slash

Rosa skidded to a stop in front of him, her eyes blazing. "Drop your sword now!" she commanded, flames flickering from her mouth as she slammed her open palm onto the green energy. The heat from her attack seared the air, filling their noses with the smell of burning energy.

Oscar, gritting his teeth, released his grip on the sword. The green energy snapped back like a rubber band, the blade flying through the air and landing in Masabi's hand. Oscar winced as he heard a distant shout.

"You dumbasses stay right there! I'm going to borrow this blade of yours," Masabi taunted. "As soon as I handle this pathetic Kaiju, you are all going to answer for your sins!"

Gojaro, watching from a distance, felt a surge of dread.

The skeletal remains of the "Empire State Building" and "Chrysler Building" loomed overhead, casting long shadows over the battlefield. Debris cluttered the streets, and the air was filled with the wails of the wounded and the dying.

Gojaro slipped behind the alley, scanning the chaotic scene with urgency. Among the rubble and debris, he finally spotted her—a small girl trapped beneath a massive green trash can. Her cries for help were faint but desperate.

He rushed over, carefully lifting the heavy trash can. The air around them seemed to burn, thick with the acrid smell of smoke and destruction. Bending down, he spoke gently, "How are you holding up?" His heart sank as he saw her left leg, crushed and bleeding, with bone protruding through the torn flesh.

The girl screamed, her voice raw with agony. "Strangerrrr, please help! It hurts, it hurts, it hurts! AHHHH!"

Gojaro placed a comforting hand over her mouth, trying to soothe her panic. "Shh, don't worry," he said softly, lifting her up under her arms. "It's just a broken leg! You will make it out of this for sure!"

Her eyes were wide with fear. "A-are you sure? You are covered in blood!"

"Don't worry about me! Just hang on tight, and I'll get you out of here," Gojaro reassured her, smiling despite his exhaustion.

The girl wrapped her arms around his neck, clinging to him with all her remaining strength. Gojaro moved swiftly through the alley, the weight of her small body negligible compared to the weight of responsibility he felt. Each step was deliberate, avoiding shattered glass and debris littering the ground.

As he ran, Gojaro glanced up. Masabi had taken a lowered stance, Holding Oscar's blade, Masabi spoke out, "Hopefully I've gotten the hang of using weapons a bit… though it slices like a bat to me."

He took a deep breath, adjusting his stance. His feet were firmly planted, knees slightly bent, his body poised like a coiled spring ready to unleash devastating power. The air around him seemed to shimmer with tension. "But Captain told me to put more effort into swordplay, so let's give it a try."

He focused his energy, feeling the blade in his hand, adjusting to its weight and balance. "I can't pour too much of my energy into this; otherwise, the creature will absorb it. A breath style mixed with free form should do, though it makes me sick not just using my god-given Angelic energy."

Masabi took a deep, controlled breath, centering himself. His chest expanded and contracted rhythmically as he drew in the power of his breath, channeling it into his core. His eyes narrowed, and his muscles tensed, ready to explode into motion. Placing his palm on the hilt of the blade, his other hand wrapped fully around the handle. He muttered, "Separate."

With a burst of blinding speed, Masabi sprang off the ground, his feet leaving imprints in the dirt from the force.

The sword smashed into the serpent's energy attack, sparks flying as the two forces collided.

For a moment, time seemed to stand still as the energy rebounded and shot back up toward the serpent.

The serpent's eyes widened in shock as its own attack turned against it. The blast struck with a deafening roar, followed by a blinding explosion. Masabi landed gracefully, his back attire tearing slightly as two small wings began to protrude. "Eh, guess I naturally used a bit of Angelic energy.

Still, using other worlds' power systems can be quite fun."

Now, where the hell did those three get off to? I swear they couldn't have gotten far..

He glanced around and got annoyed as he only saw

dead bodies and a few people sitting around in shell shock of the destruction.

The serpent creature's head came slamming to the ground, landing with a thunderous crash in front of Masabi. Its eyes glowed faintly, the fire within them dimming. Masabi looked down at the colossal head with a mix of disdain and contemplation.

"How many of those light pieces pierced this planet?" he mused aloud, his voice carrying a hint of frustration. "I really should just destroy the planet so it's less of an eyesore to deal with…"

He paused, contemplating his next move. "But I suppose I could start my search for Kieran and the others from the division," Masabi muttered before he jumped high into the sky, still holding the blade. His form quickly disappeared from sight, leaving the battlefield below.

Rosa glanced down the street, her eyes scanning the horizon where Masabi had been moments before. The ruins of "Broadway" were now eerily quiet, the chaos temporarily subsiding. "Looks like he's gone. Let's move forward and find where Jade is and hopefully link back up with Master Gojaro."

Oscar nodded, his expression determined. "Right. I believe if we follow the sound of that flute and gunfire, we should find her."

He sighed and pulled out his phone, the screen lighting up in the dim light. "Though, take a look at this," he said, showing the display to Rosa.

Rosa glanced over his shoulder at the smartphone in his hands as he instructed, "AI, please give me an update on the world overall."
