Chapter 543: 530 Ambush

Bai Zhongqi, controlling the F-type Warship Beast, simply ignored Yuan's threats and followed the Golden Great Sail Ship into the wormhole. This wormhole was different from the void exit they had encountered earlier; it led to another location in the universe, not to the void.

Bai Zhongqi was also curious. Being able to leave behind navigation maps comparable to those of the Golden Great Sail Ship was not an easy feat.

Yuan's expression was indifferent, but his heart was ablaze with rage. As a Three-Star Bishop and a pivotal Star Warrior Master in the cult, a direct disciple of the highly esteemed master, Yuan held himself in high regard and considered all others beneath him. He had a strong desire for control, and routinely humiliated any civilization's leaders or royal families as he pleased. Once, a princess of a minor civilization, during a ceremony, discreetly complained about Yuan's poker face to a friend. Overhearing this, Yuan had hundreds of the town's lowlifes brutally violate her to death and even went as far as to skin her and make a handbag to send to her father.

Having been openly confronted by Lan Xue and Bai Zhongqi, Yuan now felt an intense desire to tear them into thousands of pieces. He had already declared that no other forces should get involved; yet this insolent girl, with unknown origins, had brazenly defied him, clearly disregarding him as a Three-Star Archbishop.

Yuan didn't consider where this insolent girl might have come from or what powerful force backing her he might offend, for anyone intent on seizing the ship was generally not from any major civilization or powerful force, as there were many inaccuracies in the legends of the Golden Great Sail Ship. He had never seen Bai Zhongqi's F-type Warship Beast before either, which did not seem to originate from a high-level civilization.

Moreover, the haughty Yuan thought, even if you destroy one of their ships, people from a high-level civilization might not necessarily come looking for trouble. Because the Star Warrior Sect was not easily provoked, and its whereabouts were secretive; anyone looking to settle scores could only reach out to those civilizations under the Sect's influence, and destroying a few of those didn't harm the Sect significantly.

Bai Zhongqi and Lan Xue's partnership clearly showed their disregard for the cult's members, which also made other forces a bit restless.

The F-type Warship Beast flew to the rear deck of the Golden Great Sail Ship, while Yuan was on the front deck. The cult's faithful's ship found it difficult to attack Bai Zhongqi unless they flew over to engage in combat, and clearly, the cult didn't plan to give up their advantageous position.

Thus, several other ships followed suit and moved to the rear deck of the Golden Great Sail Ship. Because of the ship's rapid progress, the F-type Warship Beast was now 1,000 kilometers away from the faithful's ship—too far even for ancient human radar to detect.

Perhaps because of Yuan's domination, the fiercely competitive forces, at this moment, decided not to turn on each other. The cult was their greatest enemy; if a battle did arise, they would surely unite against the cult.

The three major forces eventually chose to ignore Yuan's warning; compared to the terror of the cult, obtaining the Golden Great Sail Ship made everything else insignificant.

Yuan could no longer maintain his usual pretense of profoundness, "I warn you, this is the beginning of your entry into the grave. After the cult seizes the Golden Great Sail Ship, everyone here will pay the price!"

Pulaisi snorted in response, "That's assuming, my dear Bishop, that you actually manage to seize this treasured ship."

At this moment, some smaller teams secretly rejoiced that their lack of fame meant Yuan didn't know who they were; as long as they returned alive this time and gained even a small advantage, the cult would have a hard time tracking them down. However, members of the Satellite Wolf and Graphite Consortium were less lucky, with large enterprises, they found it harder to avoid the cult's troublemaking.

The F-type Warship Beast had now landed on the Golden Great Sail Ship, and Lan Xue was so excited she was scratching her head and cheeks. She grabbed Bai Zhongqi's arm and shook it, "Uncle, Uncle, let's go down and have a look; this is the real Golden Great Sail Ship. Even if we just scrape off a few tons of gold from the ship, we'll have made a fortune!"

However, Bai Zhongqi remained calm, saying, "No rush, it's still dangerous to go down now."

He spoke earnestly to the young girl, "None of the forces have given up, and everyone is aware of the routes; I believe they must have already set up an ambush on the other side of the wormhole, so we have to be careful of their traps."

Lan Xue replied in surprise, "Do you think they would spread their forces across three locations?"

Bai Zhongqi nodded, "Why not? Can you seize a spaceship just by being there? Definitely not, I guess that the cult members boarded the Golden Great Sail Ship initially to locate the main control system. They wouldn't put all their eggs in one basket, especially since this path had never been successful before. So, they must have more arrangements later; otherwise, the guy named Yuan wouldn't be so confident."

The Golden Great Sail Ship slowly slid into the wormhole, and by the time she emerged again, she was on a rocky planet devoid of an atmosphere.

The cosmic vista was crystal clear from this planet, with distant stars and the infinite starry sky providing a spectacular view.

"What's going on? Where's our backup?" The leader of the Satellite Wolf, Grey Mouse, became anxious. The Satellite Wolf Mercenary Corps had set up even more forces at the second station than the first, but now he saw nothing.

Those expressing the same astonishment included people from the Graphite Consortium and the Duofen Civilization.

At that moment, Bai Zhongqi's eyes narrowed, and he said, "It's an ambush!"

Suddenly, several huge Main Battle Ships appeared above the rear half of the Golden Great Sail Ship, and soon these ships and the accompanying fleet fiercely opened fire on the mixed area of various forces on the Golden Great Sail Ship.

This firepower all bore strong traces of Star Energy, making it far more terrifying than ordinary artillery.

"Cult bastards!" Qi Lin yelled angrily.

This fleet was naturally the battle fleet of the Star Warrior Sect. The ruthless cult not only launched full-force artillery but even dropped weapons of mass destruction on the Golden Great Sail Ship.

Bai Zhongqi was also startled. Under normal artillery fire, he could have maneuvered the Warship Beast to dodge effectively, but dropping nuclear bombs was something he was less capable of handling.

Like the helmsmen of other forces' warships, Bai Zhongqi frantically pulled on the Warship, trying to flee. Yet, being a well-equipped and powerful fleet that freely dropped nuclear bombs, several warships got hit in succession, some even obliterated in the bursts of energy.

Bai Zhongqi grabbed Lan Xue and handed her a set of Powered Individual Armor, which was actually an Enslaved Beast, and shouted, "Get off this ship fast!"

Lan Xue was almost in tears, "Leaving the ship will get us blown up!"

"Not leaving will surely kill you!"

Bai Zhongqi couldn't bear to see this young girl, with whom he had formed a decent connection, die. He couldn't deploy his Iridium Star Ship within the Warship Beast, but once outside, he could manage it.

But just as Lan Xue hadn't fully suited up in the Individual Armor, the shockwave and shelling from an explosion swept over the F-type Combat Beast. Bai Zhongqi instinctively hugged Lan Xue tightly, using his body to shield her from harm.
