Game Of Thrones: House Bracken

Chapter 40: The Wedding(5)

I couldn´t help but let a laugh escape me, as the dancing dwarves performed their dance, the War of the Five Kings, it was perhaps one of the only funny parts of this wedding.

It was without a doubt funny, to have five dwarfs dance around, playing a war. Perhaps not morally perfect, but it was funny. And even on Earth, such things were used as humour.

And as the dance ended, Joffrey stood up. Handing a purse towards his dwarf, the Dwarf of Joffrey Baratheon.

"Here you are. Champion's purse. Though you're not the champion yet, are you? A true champion defeats all the challengers. Surely there are others out there who still dare to challenge my reign." He said, as his eyes turned towards Tyrion, and the man immediately understood.

"Uncle. How about you? l'm sure they haνe a spare costume." He said, and a lot of the Lords gasped, and my eyes turned towards Tywin, and his eyes were red. Red of hatred.

The man, although he hated Tyrion, loved Lannister. It´s the reason Tyrion wasn't left to die at birth, for he carried Tywin's most important trait, and his weakness. The name Lannister, and sadly.

Tyrion still carried the name, and Joffrey was embarrassing Tyrion, and by an extent, House Lannister.

"The Young King will be having a lecture after this." Lord William Mooton said, and I nodded. He was right, Tywin wouldn´t let this stand.

"I agree, but Tywin will need to play it perfectly, otherwise he might push Joffrey towards the Tyrells." I said, and William nodded, agreeing with me.

However, Tyrion. For all his perks, still had something of a pride, and the alcohol in his blood, did not help dilute it.

"One taste of combat was enough for me, Your Grace. l would like to keep what remains of my face. l think you should fight him. This was but a poor imitation of your own braνery on the field of battle. l speak as a firsthand witness." Tyrion said, as he began his counter speech, sarcasm flowing through his teeth as he spoke.

"Climb down from the high table with your new Valyrian sword and show eνeryone how a true king wins his throne. Be careful, though. This one is clearly mad with lust. lt would be a tragedy for the King to lose his νirtue hours before his wedding night." And with that, all could see the hatred Joffrey held deep within him, and he was about to let it loose.

But I could also see Tywin hold the slightest smirk, for his son had defended himself well, but he failed to see the end result of what would happen, so Tywin was more disappointed than proud.

But Joffrey didn´t enjoy that insult, as he began making his way towards Tyrion, grabbing a wine cup on the way. As he stopped behind Tyrion.

I could see the dwarf knew of what was coming, his eyes said it all. And he was proved correct, as a liquid flowed down Tyrions face, through his hair and onto his clothes. Joffrey had drenched Tyrion in wine.

"A fine vintage, a shame it was spilled." Tyrion said neutrally, struggling to withhold the rage building within him.

Joffrey whispered some counter, but it was ended by Margaery´s futile attempt at solving the issue, by trying to get the young King back into his seat, in time for Mace's speech.

"Well, how does he expect me to toast without wine." Joffrey said, a sly smile forming on his cheeks as he turned towards Tyrion.

"He's about to make a mistake." I said lowly to the Lords around me, and I was correct.

"Uncle, you can be my cupbearer. Seeing as you're too cowardly to fight." Joffrey said, but Tyrion knew all to well how to probe the boys anger and pride.

"Your Grace does me a great honour." Tyrion said with a smile, he knew there was no turning back. And that there was no use in taking it like a grownup, Tyrion knew Joffrey couldn´t punish him harder than he already could, as Tywin´s influence was too great.

And reluctantly, Tyrion complied. Standing up as he made his way towards Joffrey, around the table and infront of it, making his way towards Joffrey.

However, as Tyrion approached Joffrey, his hand stretched out to grab the cup from Joffrey's hand, he let go, and Joffrey smiled in triumph as the cup hit the ground.

And after staring Joffrey down, Tyrion bent down. As to grab the cup, but Joffrey wouldn´t have it as he kicked the cup, sending it under the table.

After some more reluctance and staring, Tyrion turned around and walked under the table, looking at it. Only to see a hand pick it up, or so I deducted. As the man´s body halted about the same time which Sansa's hand went under the table.

She picked the cup up, before handing it to Tyrion.

And at the same time, I saw the servant which the Red Priestess had conversed with earlier, make his way up to the table, replacing the wine closest to Tyrion with his own.

Ah, so it's Joffrey they are after.

As Joffrey and Tyrion continued their antics, I turned towards my own thoughts.

The game of thrones might have changed, as far as I am aware. As I have taken the Vale, and proved myself a reliable ally of Joffrey, I wouldn´t be arrogant enough to ignore the chance that Stannis had said my name to the fire, to sentence me to die.

Therefore I had kept my attention rooted on said servant, making sure he stayed far away from any food or wine I ever drank.

It was a necessary precaution, I had played my marriage off, to find the most suitable and advantageous one, and it came with the unfortunate downside of not having an heir, but It couldn´t be avoided.

But it also meant my own personal security was of paramount importance, and I wouldn´t disregard any advice or precaution simply because I knew the future, or the future that played out in the original.

And even then, I couldn´t be entirely certain of the show being identical to this world, even before I arrived.

However, I focused back on the matter at hand, as Joffrey cut through the cake, or pie. Which had just recently arrived, putting an end to Joffrey and Tyrions quarrel, and a few pigeons had flew out.

Of course, a few had been cut by Joffrey´s Velaryon steel sword.

But that was not my focus point, what was. Was Tyrion slowly approaching Joffrey, handing him his wine goblet, all the while Joffrey was being fed by Margaery.

There were some discussion between them, until I saw Joffrey began choking, and as it continued, and Joffrey seemed to be getting worse, the wedding took a dark turn.
