Chapter 11: Greed’s Storm 2
"No man wants to live his life under the rule of another, but there can only be one king at a time, and right now that king is me so all other men Targaryen included will kneel down and know their place. Or be judged by the flames of my dragons."
Aegon Targaryen to *****************
The ship creaked as the waves lashed it from side to side, and the winds picked up as it seemed like a storm was on the horizon. Aegon still holding up in his room knew by nightfall the crew would make their move.
The three eggs were carefully wrapped and hidden in his arrow carrier. They were then placed in a corner and covered by his cloak, leaving the sword and daggers strapped to his waist exposed.
The crew gathered on deck, and the captain stood in the middle to take charge of the situation.
He's hiding something valuable," the captain said, glancing around to ensure no one else was listening. "We all saw him return from Dragonstone. Whatever he's carrying, it's worth more than the gold he gave us."
"But he seems dangerous, should we really risk it?" one of the younger crewmen asked, his voice trembling.
The captain snorted. "He's just one man. We have numbers, and he can't fight all of us at once."
' And besides he doesn't know how to sail a ship, so he won't kill us all, I for sure will survive to make he gets to Essos.' The captain added in silent thought.
There was a murmur of agreement, though some of the men exchanged uneasy glances.
"What's the plan, then?"
"Wait for nightfall," the captain said. "We'll catch him off guard. Once we have what he's hiding, we'll kill him throw him overboard, and carry on with our journey."
By sunset, the ship was caught in the outer edges of the storm, the winds howling and the rain lashing against the deck.
The chaos of the weather provided the perfect cover for the crew's plans or so they thought.
Aegon sat in his cabin, his sword resting across his knees. The dim lantern light cast shadows across his face, making his expression unreadable.
His mind was calm, his breathing steady. He had been in situations like this before alone, outnumbered, with only his wits and skill to rely on.
When the first knock came, Aegon didn't move.
"My lord," came the captain's voice, strained but polite. "There's an issue on deck and we could use your help."
Aegon rose slowly, his movements deliberate. He sheathed his sword and opened the door.
The captain and two of his crew members stood there, their hands resting on the hilts of their knives. Their expressions were far too composed for the chaos raging outside.
"What is it?" Aegon asked, his voice cold.
"Trouble with the rigging," the captain said with a forced smile. "We could use your help."
Aegon's gaze flicked between the three men. He didn't need the system to tell him this was a trap.
Aegon's eyes scanned them as a glint of cruelty and bloodlust flashed in his eyes, the thought of killing the two crew members and injuring the captain flashed in his mind before he dismissed it.
" lead the way." Aegon motioned to them as they turned and began heading to the deck.
' Fools. It would be so easy to kill you now.' Aegon thought as he watched their exposed undefended backs.
Walking behind them, Aegon quickly did some calculations. With twenty crew members, excluding the captain, he planned to kill about ten or eleven, which would give him eighty points.
Aegon believed he could do it without using any points to increase his body and mind, but the chances of him getting injured would be high, after all, he was fighting twenty men, so an increase was needed.
' System add forty points to both body and mind.'
( Ding!!!! Adding forty points to body and mind.)
Like before the process was quick and the pain and relief came quickly as Aegon felt the strength in his body increase his mind seemed to be clearer and his body easier and quicker to control.
The captain and his crew members didn't notice the change as they walked in front of Aegon leading to the deck.
The storm's fury greeted him as he stepped onto the deck. Rain lashed his face, and the wind threatened to tear his hair from his head.
The rest of the crew was gathered near the mainmast, their weapons poorly hidden but unmistakable.
Aegon stopped in his tracks, his sword held loosely in his hand.
"This is foolish," he said, his voice cutting through the storm like a blade. "You'll gain nothing from this but your own deaths."
The captain stepped forward, a crooked smile on his face. "You don't give the orders here, boy. Hand over whatever you took from Dragonstone, and we'll let you live." The respect he showed before gone without a trace.
Aegon didn't reply. He simply smiled a cold, predatory smile that sent a shiver through the crew despite the storm's chill.
The first man lunged, his knife glinting in the lightning's flash. Aegon sidestepped easily, his sword slashing across the man's throat in a single, fluid motion.
BOOM!!!!
The body dropped to the ground simultaneously as the booming sound of thunder echoed.
The crew froze for a moment, stunned by the speed and brutality of the strike.
(Ding!!! One merchant crew killed + 8 points)
"Who's next?" Aegon asked, his voice low and deadly as lightning flashed showing Aegon's cold eyes as his face was covered in a mask of blood.
The storm surged around them as chaos erupted. The crew charged as one threatening to surround Aegon.
