Chapter 158: 158. The Goddess is Also Unreasonable
.At last, the small carriage had been painted and decorated. Jason Liu had requested they follow his specific design—a spark pattern
Thomas tested it with two horses, and the comfort was good.
However, once it was in Westeros, it would be sure to attract the attention of noble ladies!
Five large four-wheeled carriages and one smaller four-wheeled carriage were loaded onto a big truck and sent to the location Jason Liu had specified.
Jason Liu had already paid the remaining balance for the carriages, in addition to the deposit he'd made earlier. In total, he spent 570,000 yuan on the six carriages.
Director Thomas expressed his thanks and hoped to work with Jason Liu again in the future.
Jason Liu agreed and promised that as long as the carriages performed well, he would continue to place orders with the Carriage Factory.
Once the people from the factory were sent off, Jason Liu walked into the small yard he had rented. Five large carriages, all covered with black tarpaulins, and one smaller carriage were parked there.
He walked over, placed his hand on one of the carriages, and arranged for all six to be transported to a warehouse at the castle in Winter Market Town.
The once empty warehouse was quickly filled with the six carriages.
Jason Liu gave the warehouse a quick glance before heading back to modern times.
He drove the commercial vehicle parked outside the yard and made his way back to his City.
With everything finally in place, Jason Liu let out a sigh of relief.
He arrived back at the company, feeling ready to take on his next task.
Upon entering the office, Jason Liu ran into Jiang Chuchu and asked her to call for a meeting with the other managers.
Jiang Chuchu quickly noticed him walking towards the office and, after adjusting her hair, notified the other managers that President Liu was in the company and that a meeting was about to begin.
Lin Xiaohan, the manager from the finance department, received the message. She put down the report she had been working on, instructed Emily to organize yesterday's purchase order, and made her way to the general manager's office. She was a bit surprised that Jason Liu wanted to hold a meeting out of the blue.
When Lin Xiaohan entered the office, she saw Regina, the personnel department manager, and Oliver, the purchasing department manager, already sitting on the couch. Jason Liu was also present.
She hurried over and sat beside him.
Jiang Chuchu, carrying a coffee pot, poured coffee for everyone before sitting down beside her best friend.
Jason Liu took a sip of his coffee and spoke. "I've called you all together today because I'm going on a business trip soon. The company's affairs may not be handled for a few days, so I'm leaving things to you for the time being."
Jiang Chuchu looked curious. "A business trip? Where are you going? Are you going abroad?"
Jason Liu, trying to look serious, gave her a long stare and replied, "I'm the boss here, not you. Do I have to report every little detail? Listen to me and don't interrupt!"
Jiang Chuchu shrank back under his intense gaze, suddenly quiet and not daring to ask more.
Lin Xiaohan, who had been curious at first, rolled her eyes at the exchange and decided not to ask anything further.
Regina and Oliverdidn't even think about asking any questions. They were content to follow the boss's orders.
Jason Liu turned to Lin Xiaohan and Jiang Chuchu and said, "Xiaohan, Chuchu, I'm leaving the Iron Wood Industry to the two of you. Make sure the wood processing factory resumes operations quickly and replace the old, damaged machines with new ones to keep everything running smoothly."
"Got it, Mr. Liu. Manager Jiang and I will handle that," Lin Xiaohan responded seriously.
She was actually quite surprised. It was the first time Jason Liu had addressed her so informally, calling her by her first name. He had always used "Lin Xiaohan" before. It seemed like he was getting more comfortable with her—maybe she wasn't wasting her time with him after all.
Jiang Chuchu, listening to Jason Liu's more intimate tone with Lin Xiaohan, couldn't help but glance between them with suspicion. Was something going on between them? They were so close now, but why hadn't Lin Xiaohan told her? They were supposed to be best friends!
She made a mental note to ask Lin Xiaohan about it later.
After Jason Liu finished giving instructions to Regina and Oliver, he wrapped up the meeting.
Once the others had left the office and only Lin Xiaohan and Jason Liu remained, she turned to him, her face a little flushed. "Hey, what did you call me just now?"
Jason Liu cleared his throat and grinned. "I called you Xiaohan. What's the matter? Doesn't Jiang Chuchu call you that too? We're close, aren't we? It just seemed natural."
"Someone didn't call me that before," Lin Xiaohan replied, giving him a playful but annoyed look. "Humph, are you up to something?"
Ever since that day when they had almost confessed to each other, Lin Xiaohan knew Jason Liu liked her. She felt happy about it but also a little frustrated. Why hadn't he said those three words yet? Why did she always have to be the one to initiate things?
Jason Liu, noticing her reaction, blushed slightly. "What kind of bad idea could I be having, right?" he said, worried that he had been too obvious. Maybe he had made Lin Xiaohan uncomfortable.
Thinking fast, he added, "If you don't want me to call you by your first name, I can always go back to calling you 'Lin Xiaohan' like I used to."
"No!" Lin Xiaohan immediately responded, her voice loud and firm.
Jason Liu stared at her in surprise. He hadn't expected the usually calm and collected Lin Xiaohan to be so stubborn.
"What's going on? You won't let me call you by your first name, and you don't want me to call you 'Lin Xiaohan' either. What should I do then, Miss?" he asked, smiling bitterly.
Lin Xiaohan huffed, "Call me whatever you like. I don't care. I've got nothing else to do, so I'm leaving. See you later, big boss."
