Gamer, fixing the fates of fictional characters

Chapter 9: Progress and time flies by

Standing before Genzou, Kaitou eagerly awaited the next instructions. His long awaited training is finally here. If not for [Gamers Mind] he would probably e smiling from one ear to the other.

"Alright Brat, yesterday as you may have guessed, was a test, if you have the necessary drive in you for real training." Genzou declared with a light smirk, awaiting Kaitou's reaction.

Upon receiving none at all, he scoffed inwardly and continued, "Yesterday was mostly about your perseverance and your endurance, without those two attributes nobody could ever hope to succeed in actual training. But you have passed, though, it was close," said Genzou in his tsundere tone.

"Whatever, I now have more or less an understanding of your stamina, so today we're gonna test the rest. With that I mean your strength, speed, dexterity, as well as balance and reactions."

With that said Genzou walked over to a free space, while Kaitou followed him silently. In front of him are a bunch of weird stuff that seemed kind of out of place. For example, there was a sack with filled to the brim with something, then next to it lay a couple logs, and the weirdest of them all, there was a sewing kit casually laying around.

"Good, we'll start with your strength test, for that you will first have to carry those logs varying in size over the line there," Genzou said while pointing first to the logs and then to a line that was drawn in the dirt, about 10 meters away from where they were standing.

After the short instructions were made, Kaitou nodded shortly to acknowledge he understood, and began with the first log. The first one didn't pose any difficulties, the same with the second. It started to get a bit harder with the third one, and the fourth one was the last he cleared, though, with much difficulty.

Genzou looked at all of this nearly indifferent, inside meanwhile this was not the case. 'Damn, i know i shouldn't even be surprised anymore, but seriously how can a child that isn't even two carry that log? That damn thing is even heavier than he is, for heavens sake.'

"Okay, good job. Though, I'm slightly disappointed that you weren't even able to do all five of them, but what can we do. Then after catching your breath we're gonna continue with the next test, this time speed and reflexes.

After about ten minutes Kaitou was full of energy once more and was ready for the next test.

"The next test will be similar to tag, you will try to step on my shadow. The area we're onna be using is this whole open field. You have 10 minutes to catch it, start whenever you're ready," Genzou shortly gave the instructions and rules for the next test.

Both of them soon started moving back and forth. For the next minutes Kaitou tried everything to keep up and reach the shadow, alas Genzou wasn't ready to just lose to a child. The test ended with the expected result of Kaitou not being able to catching Genzous shadow even once.

"For the last test, i want to see your dexterity. For this you're gonna use the sewing kit, or rather a needle. You will use that needle to poke or rather catch little cherries that I'm gonna be throwing at you, all while you can only ever can stand on one leg. Understood?"

"Yes, sensei"

"Good, then lets start," and with that the final test started. The next minutes Genzou, with a light smirk on his face, threw cherries at Kaitou who desperately wanted to poke at least one of them. But alas in the end the only thing Kaitou managed was to just barely graze one of the cherries.

"Now i have a basic understanding of your current capabilities, with that we can fully start your training. Your current body still needs some training before we can start to safely unlock your chakra. With your endurance and perseverance we should be able to do it in about six months, minimum, because even with the training your body should still be allowed to grow a bit more."

After the test were finished, Genzou gave Kaitou some basic exercises for the time being, to make his body adapt to the training and grow slowly, for now. Little did he know, that Kaitou's body was already attuned to training and such basic exercises. Though, Kaitou couldn't just say that, so both remained in silence, while Kaitou completed the training for the day.

Over the next weeks the training became progressively harder, as Genzou was able to see Kaitou not struggling with the exercises. Over the weeks he was once again astonished with Kaitous growth speed, as it seemed unreal.

They continued with that training regime and soon another half a year went by and it was time to finally unlock Kaitous chakra. In this time his second birthday went by as well, this time uneventful.

The method Genzou used started similar to a jump start for a car. He injected his own chakra into his body and slowly guided it then through the chakra pathways to awaken and unlock all his chakrapoints and pathways completely.

The whole process took about half an hour and by the end of it Kaitou was sweating profusely. He now realized, why he had to wait such a long time for this step. This procedure would have been even more stressful on his body, if he hadn't been forced to wait till he was at least, two and was trained for a while.

With his chakra now unlocked he was finally able to start his Fūinjutsu study again. He, therefore trained from morning till noon with Genzou only to then start his study after lunch till dinner.

Kaitou really immersed himself in his training from then onwards. He knew if he really wanted to bring changes to this world and give people hope, which after all was the reason he came here for, he needed strength. His current training and his seals along with it were necessary to support this future. It was clear to him, as long as he went through with any kind of grueling training he will reach the level of strength needed to really change the world. Even without special chakra like Madara and Hashirama, or later Sasuke and Naruto, with his System he would one day reach their levels or go even further beyond that. With his resolve hardened he continued on with his training regiment.

His vigilant training truly bore fruit, as he fully mastered the advanced seals just half a year later, getting another wave of exasperated looks from his family and teacher. He used this opportunity to ask his father for a favor. He wanted to finally start his Kenjūtsu training. His father already accustomed to his character agreed, under the condition that he could only go through with it as long as Genzou allowed it as well, because no matter who had more to say, it was Genzou that oversaw his physical training.

"Brat, you should take your body more seriously, everybody only has one of them and any injuries that you might cause on your body could potentially accompany you for the rest of your life! …though, I know this won't make you change your mind anyway. So, you have to promise me that no mater what happens, you will always look after your body and regulate your training if necessary."

"I understand sensei, I promise I will always take good care of my body and will never overuse it," answered Kaitou while thinking in his mind that while the worry is understandable, he with his [Gamers Body] has the ultimate cheat to push through.

This marked another beginning of intense training for him as he now not only had to do his physical training but also his Fūinjutsu studies and now the new Swordsmanship. For a normal child his age, this training would be unthinkable, but everyone that knew him knew this was normal for him. He was always pushing himself to his limits and surpassed them and everyone's expectations.

And going further he met their expectations one after the other. A year later he once again showed his greatness to everybody. He mastered all of the *Master grade Seals* in just one year and finished with them at the age of 3 years and 6 months.

The clan members and all those who were close enough to get to know were now only speculating how long he will take to completely master Fūinjutsu, as the only things that he was missing currently are the *Grandmaster grade Seals* and to create his own seal. But most people were convinced that these last steps were only a matter of time for this seemingly one-of-a-kind genius that emerged in the Uzumaki clan.

It was also at that time, that Genzou officially declared that he is unable to further assist in Kaitou's swordsmanship training, as the boy while not yet able to contest in strength had already fully mastered the swordsmanship taught to him by Genzou. Upon hearing of this incident, the Senju and the Uchiha both sent an instructor to the Land of whirlpools. The Senju was naturally sent because the Uzumaki and the Senju always kept close ties to each other, while the Uchiha was sent as a sign of good will from their side and because they were curious about this child prodigy.

This was only possible due to the complete peace agreement now declared. This happened through another confrontation between the two Clans. While this incident wasn't even close to the prior war of the two clans, it was the most important. After a hard-fought battle with the Senju as the winning side, Hashirama was ready to take his own life, to stop these senseless conflicts between the clans, but was in the end stopped by none other than his nemesis and rival Madara.

So now with two more instructors Kaitou was thrust into a new phase of his training. The arrival of these seasoned warriors from the Senju and Uchiha clans brought an elevated level of discipline and challenge to Kaitou's already rigorous routine.

The Senju instructor, a stern woman named Aina, specialized in fluid, defensive swordplay that emphasized adaptability and endurance. Her style contrasted sharply with the Uchiha instructor, Daiken, who introduced Kaitou to the precision and explosive power characteristic of his clan's kenjutsu techniques. Both instructors were initially skeptical about training such a young child, but Kaitou quickly dispelled their doubts with his boundless enthusiasm and extraordinary aptitude.

Despite their stark differences, Aina and Daiken found common ground in their awe for Kaitou's potential. During sparring sessions, he absorbed techniques like a sponge, blending their opposing styles into something uniquely his own. His ability to execute advanced moves with a child's body was nothing short of astonishing, but it was his unrelenting drive that truly set him apart. Every strike, every parry, every movement radiated a singular purpose: to become strong enough to protect those he cared about.

Meanwhile, as Kaitou's personal training progressed, the larger world around him continued to shift. The growing alliance between the Uzumaki, Senju, and Uchiha clans was not without its challenges. The last conflict between Madara and Hashirama had left deep scars, and the peace that followed was still fragile. Yet, the leaders of these clans began to see the possibility of something greater.

It was during one of Mito's visits to the Uzumaki compound that the idea of a unified village began to crystallize. Over tea, she spoke with Kaitou's father and Genzou about the ongoing discussions between Hashirama and Madara. "They dream of a place where all clans can coexist," she said. "A village that could be a beacon of peace and prosperity for future generations."

Genzou scoffed, his ever-practical demeanor on display. "Hmph. Dreams are one thing, but reality is another. Getting clans with centuries of grudges to live side by side? Sounds like a recipe for disaster."

Mito smiled knowingly. "Perhaps. But isn't it worth trying? For children like Kaitou, who shouldn't have to grow up with the constant threat of war?"

Genzou fell silent, his gaze drifting to Kaitou, who was diligently practicing forms with Aina and Daiken. Though he would never admit it, he couldn't help but hope that such a future might be possible.

---

By the time Kaitou turned four, he had already achieved feats that many seasoned shinobi could only dream of. His mastery of grandmaster-level seals was progressing smoothly, and his swordsmanship had reached a level where even Daiken struggled to gain the upper hand in sparring matches when it came to pure skill.

It was during one such match that Daiken finally acknowledged Kaitou's talent. "You're no ordinary kid," he said, wiping sweat from his brow. "If you keep this up, you'll surpass us all before you even hit puberty."

Kaitou bowed respectfully. "Thank you, Daiken-sensei. But I still have much to learn."

Daiken chuckled. "Modest, too. You'll go far, Kaitou."

With his kenjutsu training nearing completion, Kaitou turned his full attention to mastering the grandmaster seals. The complexity of these seals was staggering, requiring not only immense chakra control but also an unparalleled understanding of fūinjutsu theory. Yet, Kaitou approached them with the same determination he brought to every challenge. By the age of five, he had successfully completed the final grandmaster seal and was already drafting ideas for his own original creation.

As Kaitou's star continued to rise, so too did the momentum behind the dream of a unified village. The Uzumaki clan's sealing expertise was seen as an invaluable asset, and their alliance with the Senju and Uchiha clans became the cornerstone of the proposed village's foundation. Discussions shifted from abstract ideals to concrete plans, with leaders debating the structure of governance, the division of resources, and the integration of smaller clans.

Kaitou, for his part, remained largely unaware of these political machinations. His world was one of training, study, and self-improvement. Yet, he never lost sight of his real goals in this world.

---

Now with just a few more days to go before his fifth birthday he finally completely mastered the *Grandmaster grade Seals*, and as to congratulate him his system rang out.

[System Alert! …]
