Genshin Impact: Arataki Itto, No Longer the Clown!

Chapter 9: Chapter 009: First Encounter with Kujou Sara

Meanwhile…

Arataki Itto stood before the Statue of the Omnipresent God, his gaze fixed on the towering figure.

The statue depicted a majestic woman seated on a massive stone pillar, her expression serene and unreadable. Her hands rested on her knees, and a large stone cloak draped over her shoulders. Behind her, a pair of massive stone wings radiated faint, multicolored lights.

Upon closer inspection, one would realize that the lights came from none other than Visions—objects of power coveted by mortals.

Itto's eyes lingered on the Visions embedded in the statue's wings. To his surprise, there were only a handful of them.

"Is this normal?" Itto wondered.

After a moment of thought, he concluded that it was.

First, the Vision Hunt Decree had only been in effect for a little over a month. Many Vision holders were still in hiding, and their Visions hadn't been confiscated yet.

Second, most Vision holders weren't as reckless as Itto, who had proudly displayed his Vision for all to see. Many had either hidden theirs or replaced them with convincing fakes to avoid detection.

Third, Vision holders weren't pushovers. Even a single Vision user could pose a significant challenge to the Shogunate's forces. It often took dozens of soldiers just to delay one.

And finally, the Shogunate's forces weren't exactly the most competent. Despite their superior numbers, equipment, and resources, they struggled to gain the upper hand against the newly formed resistance.

As Itto pondered these points, his attention was drawn to the placement of his own Vision. It was embedded at the very bottom of the statue's wing.

"That damn tengu has a grudge," Itto muttered under his breath.

He was certain that Kujou Sara had personally ordered his Vision to be placed in such a lowly position.

Despite his irritation, Itto couldn't help but admire the statue's craftsmanship. The level of detail and care put into its construction was evident, a testament to the skill of Inazuma's artisans.

"It's impressive," Itto admitted, his voice tinged with awe.

As he marveled at the statue, a voice interrupted his thoughts.

"The Statue of the Omnipresent God was carved from the finest stone in Inazuma. It took over a dozen artisans working tirelessly for six months to complete. While it pales in comparison to the Raiden Shogun's majesty, it is still a sight to behold."

Itto turned to see Kujou Sara standing nearby.

She was tall and imposing, her black and white attire adorned with the crest of the Kujou Clan. A Vision hung at her waist, and her dark wings added to her majesty resence.

"Hey, tengu. Shouldn't you be busy with your duties at the Tenryou Commission?" Itto asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I've finished my tasks for the day. I came here to pay my respects to the Shogun. Is that a problem?" Sara replied coolly.

Itto felt a bit foolish. Of course, she had every right to be here.

The two stood in silence for a moment, their eyes locked in an awkward stare.

Finally, Sara broke the silence. "Arataki Itto, what's wrong with you today?"

She found his behavior unusual. Normally, he would have challenged her to a sumo match or made some loud, boisterous remark. But today, he was quiet—almost too quiet.

"It's the Vision," Itto said simply.

Sara's eyes narrowed. "What does that have to do with anything? Wait… are you saying this is a side effect of losing your Vision?"

Itto nodded silently.

"But that doesn't make sense. The side effects didn't affect you before. Why now?" Sara asked, her tone laced with confusion.

"Beats me. You're confused? So am I," Itto replied, his voice tinged with irritation.

"But, tengu, I feel… different now. In a good way," Itto added, a faint smile playing on his lips.

He ran a hand through his white hair and turned to leave, leaving Sara standing there, her brow furrowed in thought.

As Itto walked away, his mind raced with thoughts of the world he now inhabited.

"Teyvat… Genshin Impact… What a strange and fascinating place," he mused.

"For me… this is where my real journey begins."

His crimson eyes gleamed with a mix of excitement, ambition, and something darker—greed?
