Chapter 3: Hu Tao Appears, Attempting to Stir Things Up
**Chapter 3: Hu Tao Appears, Attempting to Stir Things Up**
The morning sunlight of Liyue Harbor spilled onto the bluestone-paved streets, casting a warm and peaceful glow over everything.
Ling Feng stood at the entrance of his blind box shop, stretching lazily with a satisfied smile on his face.
"Hehe, the first sale was a huge success!"
Yesterday, Ganyu had opened the "Floating Steps on Waves" and was so delighted that she couldn't help but glance longingly at the blind boxes on the shelves before leaving. Ling Feng had been thrilled, thinking she might go for another round. But in the end, she patted her empty wallet and left with a complicated look in her eyes...
"Ah, after all, she's just a working stiff for the Liyue Qixing," Ling Feng shook his head, already scheming about how to attract more customers.
Just then, a light, brisk set of footsteps echoed from the street.
"Oh~ What's this new little shop?"
A playful voice, carrying a hint of mischief and energy, came from outside the door. Ling Feng looked up and froze.
A girl in a dark red skirt stood at the entrance, hands on her hips, her amber eyes blinking as she stared at him.
Her hair was tied up with a black-and-red ribbon, and she wore a ghostly flame-like hat. A mischievous smile played on her lips.
Hu Tao, the director of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, Liyue's resident troublemaker, and a master of deception (and comfort).
The moment Ling Feng saw her, alarm bells rang in his head.
"Oh no, this girl is definitely up to no good!"
Hu Tao blinked, circled the blind box shop once, then pushed the door open and strode inside.
"Oh, this shop looks pretty interesting," Hu Tao said, looking around curiously. "Ling Feng, right? What are you selling here?"
Ling Feng's mouth twitched, and he decided to stick to the standard sales pitch. "This shop specializes in selling mysterious blind boxes. Each box could contain a surprise! You never know what you'll get—it could be a treasure, or maybe..."
"Trash?" Hu Tao finished with a grin.
"Uh... I wouldn't put it that way..." Ling Feng awkwardly scratched his nose. "Anyway, it's an experience full of unknowns and excitement!"
Hu Tao crossed her arms, nodded thoughtfully, then suddenly clapped her hands. "Great! I'll take one!"
Ling Feng's spirits lifted immediately. "Alright! One blind box for fifty Mora—"
"Wait!" Hu Tao suddenly narrowed her eyes mysteriously, leaning closer to Ling Feng and lowering her voice. "I have a more exciting proposal."
Ling Feng's heart skipped a beat. "What are you planning?"
Hu Tao's lips curled into a sly smile. "Let's play a game. If what I get from the box is particularly interesting, you give me another blind box for free. If it's just average, I'll buy another one. How about that?"
Ling Feng raised an eyebrow, carefully considering the offer—this was a completely risk-free deal for him!
"Deal!"
Hu Tao nodded in satisfaction, tossed fifty Mora to Ling Feng, and eagerly picked a blind box from the shelf.
She stared at the boxes for a while, then suddenly grabbed one, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
"This one!"
She eagerly opened the blind box.
*Click—*
A golden light flashed, and a strange item slowly emerged from the box—
A black hat with a red flame emblem embedded on it.
**[Congratulations! You have obtained the blind box reward: 'Naruto' Uchiha Itachi's Signature Hat!]**
Hu Tao picked up the hat, turning it over in her hands, her eyes lighting up.
"Hehe, this thing... is pretty interesting!"
Without hesitation, she put it on her head, then tilted it slightly so that the shadow covered half her face.
"..."
Ling Feng watched her pose, feeling a sense of unease.
The next moment, Hu Tao slowly looked up, her eyes deep and mysterious, her voice low and dramatic—
"Sorry, but your soul is about to be consumed by darkness."
Ling Feng: "???"
"What the heck is this?!"
Hu Tao said with a straight face, "Of course, I'm roleplaying as a profound and mysterious ninja master!"
With that, she "swished" her sleeve to cover half her face, striking a bizarre hand gesture, and whispered:
"Once this technique is activated, no one can stop it..."
Ling Feng's mouth twitched. "Don't tell me you're going to use 'Tsukuyomi'..."
"Hehe, you caught me!" Hu Tao "slapped" Ling Feng's shoulder, her expression serious. "From now on, you'll be subjected to endless torment in the illusionary space!"
"..."
Ling Feng was silent for a moment, then said faintly, "I refuse!"
Hu Tao burst into laughter, slapping the table in amusement.
"Hahaha! I didn't expect you to know about 'Tsukuyomi'!"
Ling Feng rolled his eyes. "Come on, I'm a time traveler. How could I not know about these anime references?"
Hu Tao blinked curiously. "Time traveler? Really?"
"Uh, no, just kidding," Ling Feng quickly waved his hands, afraid of revealing his identity.
Hu Tao stared at him for a few seconds, then shrugged. "Whether it's true or not, your blind box shop is pretty fun."
She patted the hat on her head and grinned. "Since I got something interesting, you owe me another blind box."
Ling Feng's mouth twitched. He had expected this outcome and could only sigh. "Fine, fine, here's another one!"
He casually handed her another blind box.
Hu Tao eagerly opened it, and—
*Ding! Congratulations on obtaining a 'Shadow Puppet Set'!*
A set of exquisite shadow puppets appeared on the table. Hu Tao's face lit up with excitement. "Wow, this is perfect for me! Now the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor has another way to promote itself!"
Ling Feng facepalmed. "Did I just create a problem for myself?"
Hu Tao, proudly wearing Uchiha Itachi's hat and holding the shadow puppet set, happily skipped out of the shop.
Before leaving, she turned back and gave Ling Feng a playful gesture. "Remember to call me if you have more fun stuff~"
Watching her retreating figure, Ling Feng rubbed his temples. "With Liyue's troublemaker here, my days are going to be anything but peaceful..."
However, he had no idea that Hu Tao's antics were just the beginning. The reputation of his blind box shop was about to cause a huge stir in Liyue Harbor!
---
**Liyue Harbor, Morning.**
Ling Feng stood at the entrance of his blind box shop, his brows furrowed so tightly they could crush a slime.
He had just woken up and was about to open the shop for business when he noticed a large red poster plastered on the door. It read in bold letters:
**"The Most Thrilling! Most Exciting! Most Mysterious Blind Box Experience in All of Liyue!"**
Next to it were a few eye-catching smaller words:
**"If you don't open a blind box in life, you'll cry two lines of tears in death!"**
Ling Feng: "???"
He ripped off the poster and turned around, only to see a familiar red-clad girl peeking out from behind a stall in the distance, observing the situation.
"Hu—Tao—!"
The named Hu Tao immediately ducked her head, then coughed and walked over with a serious expression. "Oh, Boss Ling, what a coincidence! You're here too?"
"..."
"Did you do this?" Ling Feng pointed at the poster, his face full of exasperation.
Hu Tao "patted" her chest proudly. "Of course! Seeing your shop just starting out, as a well-known figure in Liyue, I thought I'd help with some promotion!"
"Help?!" Ling Feng's mouth twitched uncontrollably. "With this kind of slogan, people will think I'm selling luxury funeral packages!"
Hu Tao retorted confidently, "What do you know? This is called shock marketing! Look, as soon as I put up this poster, there's bound to be a crowd today!"
Ling Feng looked at her skeptically. "Really?"
"Of course!" Hu Tao patted her chest in assurance. "Just wait and see!"
Ling Feng glanced at the street, and sure enough, many passersby were showing interest in the shop. Some were even whispering among themselves.
"Blind boxes? What's this shop selling?"
"I heard Miss Ganyu got some amazing footwork technique here yesterday!"
"Really?"
"And Director Hu was running around with a weird black hat, shouting something about 'illusionary space' and 'Tsukuyomi'... It was so mysterious!"
Ling Feng: "..."
Hu Tao put her hands on her hips and raised an eyebrow at Ling Feng smugly. "See? My promotional skills are pretty impressive, huh?"
Ling Feng felt a mix of emotions. He had to admit, Hu Tao was a master at stirring up trouble. With her antics, his shop's reputation seemed to have skyrocketed overnight...
"Fine, you didn't exactly harm me," Ling Feng sighed and waved his hand. "Let's just open for business."
---
And so, the blind box shop's doors opened once again, with Hu Tao's mischievous promotion drawing in curious customers from all over Liyue Harbor. Little did Ling Feng know, this was only the beginning of the chaos his shop would bring to the city...
