Chapter 212: Chapter 211: Master and Disciple's Dilemma
After breakfast, Yuxie went to find Shen He again, but she insisted she wasn't hungry and didn't leave her room.Yuxie had no choice but to remind her again to take care of herself before heading back to his own room.
Later, when Yuxie checked on Shen He again, she claimed she had already eaten breakfast. However, when Yuxie asked if she wanted to go out for a walk together, Shen He politely declined.
Feeling puzzled, Yuxie couldn't quite figure out what was going on, though he noticed that Shen He's tone carried an unusual emotional fluctuation—one he suspected might be a form of "shyness."
After thinking it over, he guessed it might have something to do with them sharing a bed last night.
Deciding not to push the matter further, Yuxie simply advised Shen He to take care of herself again before leaving the inn to explore on his own.
Alone in her room, Shen He stood by the window, gazing out at the city of Inazuma. Her expression was far more complex than usual—perhaps a mix of wistfulness and embarrassment.
Even with the red soul-binding cords suppressing her emotions, such feelings still lingered in her heart.
Shen He was deeply conflicted. She couldn't pinpoint exactly how she felt about Yuxie, but one thing was certain: she didn't want to be apart from him.
Thinking back to the way her master had looked at Yuxie, her heart became even more entangled.
After a long moment of silence, she considered using a voice transmission technique to contact her master. Yet, after hesitating for a while, she slowly lowered her hand.
Her mind was in turmoil...
..........
Meanwhile, in Liyue Harbor.
Xian Yun visited Ge Chen's lyre shop for a chat.
"Xian Yun, have you considered a particular scenario when you sent Shen He to accompany Yuxie to Inazuma?" Ge Chen asked.
"What scenario?" Xian Yun inquired.
Ge Chen hesitated briefly before continuing. "What if, during this journey, they develop mutual feelings for each other? What would you do then?"
"This…" Xian Yun fell silent.
In truth, she had considered this possibility. After all, love often arises between those who spend time together, and to Xian Yun, Yuxie was the most outstanding man in the world. Even Shen He, whose emotions were restrained, might not be immune to his charm.
However, she had never dwelled on it deeply.
Now that Ge Chen had brought it up, Xian Yun felt a bit flustered.
"We both care deeply for Shen He," Ge Chen said, "and neither of us wants to see her suffer or feel sad. But if things do turn out as I described…"
"If that happens, and Shen He is truly sincere, how could I, as her master, bear to see her heartbroken?" Xian Yun replied earnestly.
Yuxie arrived at the gates of Tenshukaku.
This time, the guards at the entrance greeted him respectfully and made no attempt to stop him.
Yuxie approached them and paused. "Shouldn't you notify someone of my arrival?" he asked.
"There's no need," one guard replied. "The Shogun has instructed that if you visit, you may come and go freely."
"I see…" Yuxie nodded. "Thank you for your hard work."
"It's our duty!"
With that, Yuxie patted the soldiers on their shoulders and entered through the grand gates.
The interior of Tenshukaku was as imposing as ever, with its grand architecture exuding an aura of power worthy of the residence of a deity.
Climbing the steps, Yuxie found himself facing a courtyard. Beyond it lay the main hall of Tenshukaku. However, instead of heading toward the main hall, he turned and walked toward one of the side halls.
Inside the dojo, Ei was practicing her martial arts.
Although her skills had already reached a level of perfection, she maintained this routine as a daily discipline. For her, these exercises brought a sense of tranquility.
She sheathed her polearm and closed her eyes, her body levitating slightly.
"You're here, just as I thought," a familiar yet somewhat unfamiliar voice interrupted her.
Ei slowly descended and opened her eyes, looking in the direction of the voice. For a moment, she stood frozen, unsure of how to respond.
She had spent a long time debating whether to find Yuxie and what reason she could use to approach him. And now, Yuxie had come to her on his own.
Yuxie entered the spacious training ground, his gaze settling on Ei.
She bore an uncanny resemblance to her sister, Makoto, save for the teardrop-shaped mole beneath her right eye. Beyond that, her aura was entirely different.
"Yu… Yuxie…" Ei's voice was soft.
"Um… I hope I'm not disturbing you. If I am, I can come back later," Yuxie said as he slowly approached.
"No, you're not disturbing me," Ei replied.
"That's good…" Yuxie suddenly felt a little awkward.
Their meeting wasn't as he had imagined. With characters like Makoto, Kitsune Saiguu, and Chiyo, conversations flowed easily. But with Ei, there was an unspoken tension in the air.
Ei simply watched him, waiting for him to speak. Whenever Yuxie said something, she responded, but otherwise, she remained silent.
"I've already met Makoto, Kitsune Saiguu, and Chiyo. They told me a lot about the past," Yuxie said after a pause. "I never imagined I used to be the leader of the Okuzumeshuu."
"You were the only one capable of leading the Okuzumeshuu," Ei replied. "After you left, the position of general remained vacant."
"Even now, there hasn't been a new general?"
"No."
"…"
"…"
The conversation faltered, and silence filled the room.
Ei looked at Yuxie as if she had much to say, but her emotions, shaped by years of complexity, left her unsure of where to begin.
As for Yuxie, he didn't know how to break the awkward silence with a suitable topic.
Finally, Ei spoke. "You came to find me. Is there something you need?"
"There is," Yuxie nodded. "But I'm not sure how to say it…"
"Just speak freely. There's no need to hold back."
"I'd like to ask for your help."
"What kind of help?"
