Chapter 101-104
Chapter 101: Since You Have Chosen This Home, You Will Not Regret It
"Congratulations to the host for obtaining an intertwined fate!"
At this moment, a system notification sounded in Amon's mind.
However, since it was almost time for dinner, he did not rush to open the system interface. Amon glanced around the table and eventually focused his gaze on Beidou.
He noticed that while eating, Beidou would only pick small side dishes like peppers and mushrooms to put into her bowl. She ate very few side dishes and then took big bites of rice. In contrast, she completely avoided the meat dishes that had been specially prepared for her.
This behavior struck Amon as odd. After all, in the game, Big Sister Beidou was portrayed as someone who enjoyed drinking and eating meat. She should not have any food restrictions.
Why was this happening?
It didn't take Amon long to figure it out. After all, Beidou, like Shenhe, had only recently moved into this new home. She was not yet accustomed to her new environment and seemed somewhat reserved. Perhaps she felt embarrassed to eat the meat dishes and instead quietly stuck to the side dishes.
For a moment, Amon didn't know what to say.
Beidou had spent her life wandering and was known for her resilience and indifference to others' opinions. Yet, here she was, acting cautious and hesitant, like a child afraid of making mistakes after moving into a new home.
This could not continue.
Currently, little Beidou was still in her growth phase, so ensuring a balanced diet with both meat and vegetables was essential. How could she sustain herself by only eating side dishes?
With this in mind, Amon placed his bowl and chopsticks on the table, stood up, and walked toward Beidou. He considered that if he were to offer the food to Beidou directly, she would likely refuse. So, he opted for a more subtle approach.
"Ningguang, Beidou, there's a plate missing from the kitchen. Could I borrow one of yours?"
Hearing Amon's request, Ningguang nodded without hesitation, not even stopping to think. To her, any request from Brother Amon was worth agreeing to without question.
In her soft, childlike voice, Ningguang responded, "Brother Amon, of course, you can!"
Beidou, too, quickly put down her chopsticks and nodded earnestly. "Brother Amon, it's no problem at all. You can take the plate."
Beidou was filled with gratitude toward Amon. After all, he had saved her from hunger and cold and provided her with a new home. Because of this, she held no objections to his request for a plate.
The little girl had a simple heart and no ulterior motives. She only knew that Amon treated her kindly, and she resolved to repay his kindness. Beidou even considered asking if Amon needed more plates, as she would gladly offer them.
As Beidou hesitated to speak, Amon took the plate and divided the meat equally between Ningguang and Beidou. Though it was impossible to make the portions perfectly even, he tried his best to achieve balance.
"Both of you need to grow up healthy," Amon thought to himself.
When Beidou saw the meat filling her bowl, she froze momentarily before quickly shaking her head.
"Brother Amon, there's already plenty of meat in my bowl. You don't need to give me more. Really, I'm fine."
For Beidou, even eating a few side dishes was a vast improvement from the days when she wandered hungry. Filled with gratitude, she was too shy to eat more, let alone touch the meat.
Hearing Beidou's protest, Amon continued what he was doing without hesitation. He looked at her and said earnestly, "Little Beidou, you're still growing. You need proper nutrition. Only by eating well can you grow up strong and healthy. Do you understand?"
Beidou bit her lip and replied hesitantly, "But I can get full from just eating vegetables. I don't need the meat. Honestly, I'm very easy to take care of, Brother Amon."
Looking at her nervous expression, Amon couldn't help but laugh.
So, the reason Beidou avoided meat was her worry that she might seem like a burden.
This little girl was far too sensitive—likely a consequence of her years spent wandering. For a moment, Amon felt a pang of sorrow for her.
Reaching out, he gently patted Beidou's head and said with a chuckle, "Silly girl, what are you thinking about? I may not be able to provide you with lavish living conditions, but you will never have to worry about going hungry in this house. Since you've chosen to stay here, I promise you'll never regret it."
Hearing Amon's words, a warm feeling blossomed in Beidou's heart. This sense of being valued was something she had never experienced before.
Amon paused and continued, "So, eat as much as you like. It makes me happy to see you eat more. If you don't, I might think it's because my cooking is bad."
Alarmed by the thought of Amon doubting his cooking skills, Beidou quickly protested, "No, no! Brother Amon, your cooking is amazing. I love everything you make!"
Smiling, Amon said, "If you enjoy it, then eat more and finish what's in your bowl. Starting tomorrow, I'll begin teaching you new skills. There's a lot of training ahead, so you'll need to eat well to keep your energy up. Otherwise, you won't be able to handle the training. Understood?"
Beidou's eyes lit up upon hearing that Amon would be teaching her skills. She had long wanted to learn from him so she could become a useful person in his eyes.
Nodding vigorously, she replied, "Brother Amon, I understand. I'll eat well to prepare for tomorrow's training."
Encouraged by Amon's words, and knowing the training might be rigorous, Beidou finally accepted the food he offered her. As she began eating heartily, Amon's lips curved into a faint smile.
"Beidou, eat slowly, or you'll choke," he said gently. "There's more food in the pot, so feel free to get seconds after you finish. This is your home, so there's no need to hold back."
Turning his attention to Ningguang, Amon added, "Ningguang, don't think I've forgotten about you. Hurry up and finish your meal. That's your mission for today."
Hearing Amon's encouragement, Beidou's heart brimmed with warmth.
"Is this what it feels like to have a home and family?" she wondered.
It was wonderful.
If possible, she wanted to stay in this home forever and remain by Amon's side.
Just as these thoughts filled her mind, a system notification echoed in Amon's consciousness.
"It has been detected that Beidou's favorability has increased from level 2 to level 3. Congratulations to the host for obtaining an intertwined fate!"
...
.....
Chapter 102: Dreams
Beidou's favorability had increased.
Including the previous improvement in favorability from Shenhe, Amon now had a total of two intertwined fates.
However, I didn't receive any extra rewards these two times. Perhaps I was just unlucky.
Amon opened the lottery card pool and made two single draws.
The first draw was a blue light.
When the light faded, what appeared before him was a bottle of pills labeled Pill of Exorcism.
Taking this pill could effectively cleanse one's karma.
Amon didn't have any karmic obstacles. On the contrary, it would be more suitable for a certain 1.58-meter-tall Adeptus.
Immediately after, Amon made the second draw.
This time, his luck was unexpectedly good as a golden light descended from the sky.
The reward was a weapon called Kusanagi no Tsurugi.
It was a lavender katana with a slender blade and a black-and-white patterned hilt.
In the game's lore, this sword was associated with Raiden Shogun, who once used it on her giggling slime.
The weapon he had obtained now, however, was incomplete.
It was likely similar to the previous Memory of Dust—only fragments of it had been acquired.
But that didn't matter. The sword would still be more than sufficient for combat.
Amon felt somewhat emotional. Previously, he had obtained a Raiden Shogun-themed cup, and now he had drawn a weapon like Kusanagi.
It could be said that he was progressing further along the path of developing thunder-related characters.
Still, Amon couldn't help but feel disappointed.
"Why didn't I draw a thunder-attribute skill?"
This left him feeling as though he had powerful tools but lacked the necessary abilities to wield them.
After packing up his backpack, Amon exited the system interface.
After a busy day, Master Amon finally had time to relax and enjoy a meal.
As he sat down at the table, someone served him a dish and placed it before him.
Amon looked up and saw that the person helping him was Ganyu.
Ganyu raised her head, smiled warmly, and said, "Mr. Amon, thank you for cooking so many delicious dishes tonight.
"Just sit down and rest. Let me take care of the simple tasks."
As she spoke, Ganyu thoughtfully placed food in Amon's bowl.
A warm feeling arose in Amon's heart.
Ganyu was truly considerate.
He chuckled and said, "Then I'll have to trouble Miss Ganyu."
Yae Miko, seated beside him, quipped, "I've known Sister Ganyu for many years, but I've never seen her serve food for anyone—not even me."
"To be precise, this is the first time I've ever seen her do this.
"Sure enough, best friends are far less important than boyfriends."
Yae Miko gazed at Ganyu with her striking purple eyes and said teasingly, "If Sister Ganyu ever quit her secretary position and stayed home to take care of her husband and children, she'd undoubtedly excel at it."
Hearing Yae's teasing, Ganyu's fair face turned a deep shade of red.
She stammered, "Miko! I haven't even thought about my future yet."
Yae Miko took a sip of tea and replied leisurely, "Well, it's something worth considering.
"After all, you can't be Liyue's secretary forever. Someday, you'll want a peaceful life.
"For instance, you might retire and have two or three adorable little kids. And if you can't handle them, you could always leave them to me. I love children."
"Just imagining that scene feels so beautiful."
Hearing Yae's words, Ganyu froze in shock.
Have children?
The thought felt entirely foreign to her.
Ganyu had never considered such a possibility before.
Not knowing how to respond, she said nervously, "I... I'm finished eating. I should get back to work."
"Mr. Amon, I'll take my leave now.
"I'll return tomorrow to help teach Shenhe."
With a quick farewell, Ganyu hurriedly left, her head lowered in embarrassment.
Yae Miko, ever fond of teasing, covered her mouth and laughed quietly.
"You can't joke with Sister Ganyu; she always panics and leaves with a red face. It's adorable."
After finishing the fried tofu in her bowl, Yae Miko put down her chopsticks and elegantly wiped the corners of her mouth.
Even such a simple action appeared graceful and captivating when performed by her.
"Mr. Amon, I'll take my leave now," Yae said as she placed a piece of white jade on the table.
She avoided giving him Mora, knowing he had no need for money. Instead, she chose something unique and meaningful.
"This jade might one day help you turn danger into safety," she added with a chuckle.
As if recalling something, she continued, "Oh, by the way, I've missed our last in-depth conversation, Mr. Amon.
"I wonder if you might indulge me again tonight?"
Seeing Amon's puzzled expression, she clarified, "I'm talking about your novel! It's such a wonderful story. How far have you written?"
Amon couldn't help but smile helplessly.
"Miss Yae, I'm sorry. I haven't quite figured out the next part yet. I need a couple more days."
Yae Miko's beautiful eyes glimmered with mock resentment, like a neglected young wife.
"Alright, it seems tonight will be another lonely one for my soul," she sighed.
"But I still hope Mr. Amon updates soon. In return, I'll try my best to bring Sister Ganyu here again.
"Whether you seize the opportunity will be up to you."
With that, Yae bid farewell to the children and returned to the inn.
Amon raised an eyebrow slightly.
Yae Miko truly had a way of connecting with people and bringing them together.
The rest of the evening passed smoothly, leaving behind a table full of leftovers.
When Ningguang's mother tried to clean up, Amon and Ningguang stopped her, insisting she needed rest.
Understanding Amon's fatigue from the day's work, the children decided to handle the chores themselves.
Ningguang and Shenhe took responsibility for washing the dishes.
Ningguang, accustomed to housework from a young age, handled it effortlessly, while Shenhe, obedient and eager to help, pitched in without hesitation.
Beidou wanted to help but didn't know what to do, leaving her standing there anxiously.
Sensing her desire to contribute, Ningguang said, "Beidou, if you really want to help, you can sweep the floor with Qiqi."
Beidou glanced at Qiqi, then took the broom from her.
Not only did she sweep the floor, but she also wiped it thoroughly with a damp clo
th until it shone enough to reflect her shadow.
The children busied themselves with their tasks, leaving Amon to enjoy a rare moment of relaxation.

Chapter 103: Farewell to My Past Self
Shen He lay in the bedroom, tossing and turning, unable to sleep.
She had a little problem with sleeping.
That problem was recognizing the bed.
Simply put, she could only sleep peacefully in a familiar bed.
If she suddenly found herself in an unfamiliar environment, it would be difficult for her to fall asleep.
At the moment, Shen He was curled up in the quilt.
Her bright, big eyes were staring at the ceiling in a trance.
The room was silent, with a warm yellow lamp on the table dispelling the darkness.
Time passed by, but Shen He didn't feel sleepy at all.
She didn't even know when she finally fell asleep.
She only felt as though her body was falling.
Falling into an abyss.
When she opened her eyes again, Shen He found herself in a strange yet familiar cave.
She saw her father leaving indifferently.
And the black 'evil spirit' standing in front of her with its bloody mouth wide open.
Shen He was terrified.
She wanted to take out the exorcism dagger left by her mother to protect herself.
But she found that her hands were empty.
She had no weapons and was defenseless, like a cow or sheep awaiting slaughter.
Shen He turned her head to look at her father, who was walking away. She wished that he would look back and protect her.
But her father never looked back and ignored her crying.
Only a cold silhouette was left behind.
Meanwhile, the black 'evil spirit' showed great interest in Shen He, approaching her step by step and letting out a shrill laugh...
Shen He sat up in bed in shock, breathing heavily.
Everything from before was just a dream.
Although it was a dream, everything felt so real that it hurt Shen He's heart.
She found herself in tears, her pillow soaked by them.
Could she still not cut off her connection to her past self?
Shen He desperately wanted to forget the past, erase those unpleasant memories, and start a new life.
But her memories seemed unwilling to let her go.
Those painful events of the past turned into one nightmare after another, tearing open her wounds repeatedly
"How can I forget the pain?"
Shen He didn't know, and no one could give her an answer.
At this time, there was a gentle knock on the door.
She heard Amon and Qiqi's voices coming from outside:
"Shen He, are you okay?"
"I was just writing a novel and vaguely heard you crying. Did something happen?"
"Shen He, don't cry... If you have anything to say, tell Qiqi..."
"Qiqi wants to help Shen He..."
Amon was a night owl who stayed up late to write stories.
For him, the best time to write was late at night when everyone else was asleep.
As for Qiqi, she didn't need to sleep at all. She spent her nights doing stretching exercises.
Both of them had vaguely heard Shen He crying. Worried that something had happened, they came together and knocked on the door to check on her.
Shen He reached out to wipe away her tears and adjusted her breathing to calm her mind.
She didn't want Amon and Qiqi to worry.
"Brother Amon, Qiqi, He'er is fine. She just had a nightmare."
"I'm sorry to have made you worry."
Shen He tried to force a smile, but her voice was choked with sadness.
After all, for an innocent little girl, her father's betrayal was undoubtedly a huge blow.
It would take time to heal and move past this shadow.
Looking at Shen He, whose eyes were filled with tears and who looked pitiful, Amon couldn't help but feel heartbroken.
A sensible and well-behaved child who had done nothing wrong—why did she have to suffer such pain?
He gently stroked Shen He's little head and said softly, "Little girl, did you dream about the cave?"
"That's all in the past. Don't dwell on it anymore. You need to look forward."
Hearing Amon's words, Shen He could no longer control her emotions.
Tears silently fell again as she cried her heart out.
"Brother Amon, I really want to forget those memories,"
"But I can't do it at all. I dreamed of that cave again..."
"I saw my father leaving without looking back, and my heart felt like it was being cut by a knife."
"What should I do to cut ties with my past?"
Looking at Shen He, who was crying uncontrollably, Amon remained silent for a long time.
He could feel that she was trapped in her sad memories.
Although Shen He acted like an ordinary child during the day, the quiet of the night brought back her pain.
Memories are a double-edged sword. They can heal a person, but they can also destroy them.
Shen He's father had been trapped in memories of his lover, which led him astray.
Now, Shen He was also suffering from the weight of her memories.
After a moment of silence, Amon handed a jade comb to Shen He.
"Little girl, if you truly want to say goodbye to your past, use this comb to comb your hair three times."
"After that, you'll be able to cut ties with your past."
Amon paused and continued, "But I want to tell you in advance—once you use this jade comb, some changes will occur within you."
He gently patted Shen He's shoulder and placed the jade comb in her hand.
What Shen He chose to do would be entirely up to her.
Shen He looked at the jade comb in her hand, her emotions conflicted.
Finally, she raised the comb and began combing her hair.
The first stroke of the comb covered her black, shiny hair with a layer of silver frost, like a thin veil of snow.
The second stroke turned half of her hair white.
The third stroke left all her hair pure white, like winter snow.
Shen He could feel changes within herself but wasn't surprised.
Amon had warned her about this beforehand.
She felt the sadness in her heart quickly fading away.
It was as if an invisible thread had severed her connection to her past.
Shen He looked at Amon and said softly, "Brother Amon, thank you. I feel much better now, and I believe this jade comb has played a big part in it."
"I'll keep this jade comb with me. It gives me strength."
"More importantly, it's a gift from Brother Amon, and I want to treasure it."
Seeing the gray mist in Shen He's eyes dissipate, replaced by a heartfelt smile,
Amon let out a sigh of relief.
As long as the little girl was no longer burdened by that painful past.
At that moment, a system notification sounded in Amon's mind.
"Ding! Shen He's favorability has increased from Level 2 to Level 3."
"Congratulations to the host for obtaining an Intertwined Fate and an additional Red String."

Chapter 104: The Future Lord of the Jade Chamber, Now a Secretary
Amon checked the effects of the red rope.
He discovered that wearing the red rope could increase the damage dealt by ice-attribute characters.
As a grown man, Amon naturally couldn't wear something like this himself.
He glanced at Shen He, who was an ice-attribute character.
"This red rope will be perfect for her," he thought.
In the game setting, Shen He relied on the red rope to suppress evil spirits and her murderous aura.
However, Shen He's aura didn't seem too overwhelming at the moment, so Amon decided to put the red rope away for now.
Next, Amon opened the card pool and made a single draw.
A purple light descended from the sky.
When the light faded, it revealed a four-star skill called Stellar Restoration.
This skill belonged to Keqing, known as the Yuheng of the Liyue Qixing. It was her elemental combat skill.
The skill allowed her to throw a lightning-shaped javelin to any location. Releasing the skill again would teleport her to the javelin's location and trigger lightning-elemental area damage.
Keqing's character design was well-received—she had black stockings, long legs, and an appealing touch of tsundere.
However, her skills were considered lackluster by some.
Players often had a love-hate relationship with Keqing.
Amon hoped that unlocking this skill wouldn't lead to a frustrating experience like Keqing's infamous low damage output.
After closing the interface, Amon asked Shen He to get more rest before taking Qiqi out of the room.
As they walked, Qiqi tilted her head, seemingly deep in thought.
Her large, peach-colored eyes blinked in confusion.
Amon noticed her puzzlement and smiled, squatting down to meet her gaze.
"Qiqi, what's wrong?" he asked gently.
Qiqi looked up at him with a silly expression. "Why... did Shen He's long black hair turn white in the blink of an eye?"
"Could this be... the overnight whitening of hair mentioned in medical books?"
"In that case... Qiqi wants to pick some medicine for Shen He..."
Hearing her innocent words, Amon couldn't help but laugh.
The little girl didn't know that the jade comb Shen He used was made of a fairy stone with a unique effect.
So, she thought Shen He was unwell.
Seeing Qiqi's worried expression, Amon reached out to pinch her cheek lightly.
"Qiqi, Shen He isn't sick," he explained.
"She has simply said goodbye to her past self. You can think of it as her way of growing up."
Qiqi blinked her big eyes, processing Amon's words.
"Growing up... and getting white hair..."
"Qiqi also has white hair... Ningguang has white hair too... Does that mean we've all grown up?"
Amon chuckled at her innocent reasoning.
"Yes, you and Ningguang have both grown up," he replied.
Over the past days, Amon had watched these adorable children grow.
Qiqi's memory had improved significantly, and her daily stretching exercises had made her physically indistinguishable from an ordinary child.
Ningguang, on the other hand, had become remarkably organized and meticulous in her tasks, rarely making mistakes.
Even Ganyu had been surprised by Ningguang's well-drafted plans, marveling at how such a young girl could create them.
Amon refrained from interfering with Ningguang's development.
He hoped she could grow freely, though her personality still differed from the future Lord of the Jade Chamber.
In other aspects, however, she seemed to be progressing in that direction.
Perhaps one day, Ningguang would indeed become Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing.
Lost in thought, Amon paused outside Ningguang's room.
The light was still on.
What was she up to this late at night?
Staying up late wasn't good for her growth.
Amon knocked gently on the door, intending to urge her to sleep.
To his surprise, the door wasn't fully closed and opened slightly with his touch.
Inside, he saw Ningguang asleep at her desk.
A freshly drafted investment plan lay before her.
She must have worked overtime until she fell asleep from exhaustion.
Ningguang was truly a little workaholic, always pushing herself to her limits.
Seeing her like this, Amon felt a pang of distress.
Such a young girl shouldn't have to bear so much pressure.
He carefully tried to carry Ningguang to her bed.
Unexpectedly, she was a light sleeper and woke up at the slightest movement.
Initially flustered by the intrusion, Ningguang quickly calmed down upon recognizing Amon.
As long as he was around, she felt safe.
Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she asked, "Brother Amon, why are you here?"
Amon chuckled. "If I hadn't come, you'd have slept on the desk all night."
"Now, go to bed and be a good girl."
Ningguang shook her head.
"No, I still have work to finish," she protested.
"I'll go to bed once I'm done writing this plan. Brother Amon, you should sleep early too. Good night~"
Amon frowned, pretending to be stern.
"No, you have to sleep now."
"Work can wait. Staying up late isn't good for your health."
He added, "You're still growing and need proper rest."
Ningguang hesitated, biting her lip.
"But..."
"No buts," Amon insisted firmly.
Pouting, Ningguang relented, her voice tinged with grievance.
"Ningguang understands. Brother Amon, please don't be so fierce..."
Her pitiful expression melted Amon's resolve.
He softened his tone.
"Little one, I know you're working hard and becoming an excellent secretary."
"But no amount of money or achievements is worth more than your health, understand?"
"Now, off to bed. Goodnight."
To prevent her from sneaking back to her desk, Amon confiscated the plan.
"Goodnight, little girl."
He turned off the light.
In the darkness, Ningguang's soft voice called out, "Brother Amon, Ningguang can't sleep..."
"Can you tell me a story? Just one... please?"
Her pleading tone made it impossible for Amon to refuse.
"Alright, just one story. After that, you must sleep."
"Yay! Brother Amon is the best!"
She made space for him, clutching his arm and snuggling close.
And so, in the quiet room, Amon began his story...
