Genshin Impact: Starting from Liyue to Build Infrastructure

Chapter 9: Chapter 9

Takumi wrote down the cement formula he knew on a piece of paper.

The production process of cement is generally divided into two grinding phases and one burning phase. Lime powder, iron powder, and other materials are ground into a fine powder according to a specific ratio and then calcined at a high temperature of over 1300 degrees.

Once the clinker is fired, a certain amount of slag, coal ash, and gypsum is added for grinding.

With this process, the cement is completed.

Liyue already has the necessary materials.

And if there's one thing Liyue has in abundance, it's mines.

However, the ores that Liyue miners prioritize are those with elemental reactions, as they fetch a high price in Teyvat.

Ordinary ores, on the other hand, are scarcely used.

This is why Takumi believed that Teyvat had plenty of untapped resources that its people simply didn't know how to utilize.

For example, oil had not yet been developed.

Even Khaenri'ah was far ahead in these aspects.

Takumi finished writing the cement formula.

As for lime, Liyue already had it in abundance, so there was no need to include it in his notes.

Takumi handed the written formula to Ningguang.

"This is the formula for cement."

"It can be used not only for building houses but also for paving roads."

"And the roads made with it are incredibly smooth."

"I think you understand better than anyone what such roads can mean for Liyue."

Hearing Takumi's words, Ningguang's expression became serious.

She carefully examined the formula given to her.

However, upon reading it, she couldn't help but frown in confusion.

"Mr. Takumi, are you certain these materials are enough to create cement?"

"It seems too simple."

After all, these raw materials were so common in Liyue that no one had ever considered using them for construction.

Takumi nodded confidently.

"Of course."

"If you're skeptical, why not let the Emperor verify it for us?"

A playful smirk appeared at the corner of Takumi's mouth.

Since it was all just earth and stone, Zhongli should be able to create cement effortlessly.

Hearing Takumi's words, Zhongli raised an eyebrow.

His gaze turned to the formula in Ningguang's hands.

Ningguang quickly handed it over.

Zhongli examined it for a moment before nodding.

"Yes, this is correct."

With that, he raised his hand.

In an instant, various raw materials appeared in his grasp, and he began kneading them together.

After a few moments, the materials fused into a lump of gray powder.

He didn't stop there.

With a slight alteration to its properties, he compressed the material into a basketball-sized cement ball and placed it on the table.

That's right—Zhongli had effortlessly produced finished cement with just one hand.

Takumi's eyes sparkled at the sight.

If Zhongli were put in charge of infrastructure, progress would skyrocket.

He'd make an excellent foreman.

"This is good."

"It's an excellent building material," Zhongli said, nodding in approval.

Although he had used his elemental power to accelerate the process, he could tell that, if produced as Takumi described, cement would indeed be highly useful.

With Zhongli's confirmation, Ningguang's eyes lit up.

"Baishi, make the necessary arrangements."

"Start production immediately and ensure it runs at full capacity."

"We'll be needing a lot of this."

One of the secretaries standing nearby, Baishi, promptly took the formula from Ningguang's hand.

"Understood, Lady Ningguang. I will make the arrangements now."

With that, she hurried off.

...

"That concludes my part here. I'll be taking my leave."

"You can proceed with your plans as you see fit."

"I will be at the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor from now on."

"If you need me, feel free to come find me."

"And remember—don't disclose my identity to others."

After saying this, Zhongli set down his teacup, stood up, and walked out.

"Respectfully sending off the Emperor."

Gan Yu and the others quickly saluted as Zhongli departed.

Once he was gone, Keqing and the others couldn't help but sigh.

Who would have thought that Zhongli, the man who spent his days wandering Liyue Harbor, drinking tea, and listening to storytelling, was actually the Emperor?

Most people wouldn't believe it.

And to think that Zhongli never carried Mora with him, always leaving the bills to the Funeral Parlor.

That was enough to make Hu Tao furious every single time.

"Well then."

"I've done my part."

"I'll be taking my leave as well."

"From now on, I'll focus on the construction work and won't be involved in other matters."

"If you need anything, feel free to find me."

"Once the preparations are complete, I'll begin work."

Takumi stood up and addressed Ningguang and the others.

Ningguang nodded in acknowledgment.

Turning to her secretary, she instructed:

"Baiwen, escort Mr. Takumi."

"Also, withdraw 5 million Mora from my personal vault and give it to Mr. Takumi."

"Consider it an allowance for his stay in Liyue Harbor."

As a traveler from another world, Takumi had no money.

During his stay in Liyue, he had been relying on Xiao's hospitality.

Now, Ningguang, ever the considerate benefactor, made sure he had what he needed.

"Then I'll thank you in advance, Miss Ningguang."

"If you ever need me, don't hesitate to ask."

Takumi smiled at the wealthy and generous woman before turning to leave.

Baiwen followed closely behind.

After Takumi left, Ningguang and the others resumed their discussions.

Though Takumi had shared his ideas, there were still many details to refine.

Staffing, logistics, and infrastructure planning required careful deliberation.

Despite the sudden nature of these developments, they quickly recognized the potential benefits for Liyue.

This was something worth supporting.

While the meeting continued, Baiwen led Takumi to a small courtyard in Yujing Terrace.

This was one of Ningguang's properties, though she had barely lived there.

Now, it belonged to Takumi.

Baiwen handed him the keys.

"Mr. Takumi."

"Please rest here for now."

"I will arrange for some servants to attend to your needs."

"If you require anything, just let them know."

Takumi nodded at Baiwen's words.

"Thank you."

"But there's no need for servants."

"I can manage on my own."

He wasn't the type to rely on others.

Having servants would only make it harder to conduct his experiments.

Baiwen was momentarily surprised by his refusal but chose not to press the matter.

"Understood, Mr. Takumi."

"I won't disturb your rest, then."

"If you need anything, the Qianyan Army stationed outside will assist you."

"I will inform them accordingly."

With that, Baiwen took her leave, leaving Takumi to settle into his new home.
