Chapter 51: Chapter 051: Leave None Alive
Shao Yun slapped the face of the Fatui officer, each strike growing heavier, as if venting his fury with every blow. "You're lucky... because you get to live a little longer," he said, his voice dripping with icy cruelty, as though pronouncing the man's fate.
At that moment, Lisa sensed something was wrong and quickly moved to stop Shao Yun. But she was too late.
With a sudden roar, Shao Yun bellowed, "The rest of you... can die!"
As his words echoed, his Vision flared to life, releasing a blinding light. The revolver in Shao Yun's hand erupted with terrifying power, each shot like the scythe of Death itself, mercilessly cutting down the remaining Fatui.
Explosions rang out one after another, flesh and blood flying in all directions. The scene turned into a gruesome spectacle. The Fatui screamed and writhed in agony, but none could escape their grim fate. Their bodies were torn apart, blood splattering across the ground, painting it crimson.
The Knights of Favonius, witnessing this sudden turn of events, stood frozen in shock, watching as Shao Yun unleashed his carnage.
After finishing off the remaining Fatui, Shao Yun's eyes remained cold and unfeeling.
Lisa, horrified, shouted, "What are you doing?!"
Shao Yun turned to face her, his emotions flaring. "What am I doing? Look at your Knights lying on the ground, never to rise again! Look into the eyes of that fifteen-year-old girl! Then ask me that question again!"
Lisa was left speechless, her heart filled with grief and anger. But this... this was too much.
Shao Yun took a deep breath, calming himself. He spun his revolver, twirling it with a flourish before holstering it. "Was I too friendly in the library, Lisa? Did that make you think I wouldn't kill?"
His words hung heavy in the air, the tension palpable.
Lisa stared at him, her emotions a tangled mess. She knew Shao Yun wasn't a cold-blooded killer, but the man before her now felt alien and terrifying.
Shao Yun grabbed the collar of the sole surviving Fatui, hoisting him up like a lifeless doll, a mocking smile curling on his lips. "We're going to meet your friends now."
Kaeya, seeing this, grew anxious. He stepped forward, trying to defuse the brewing storm. "Have you lost your mind? Calm down!"
But Shao Yun wasn't having it. He patted Kaeya's shoulder lightly, holding up two fingers as he spoke in a tone that brooked no argument. "First, I haven't even settled my score with you yet, Kaeya. Second, they've already stabbed us in the back. How can you tolerate that? Did you secretly take 500,000 Mora from the Fatui?"
Kaeya was left speechless, especially by the last remark, which hit too close to home. He had his secrets, after all. In the end, he could only step aside silently, watching as Shao Yun dragged the survivor toward the Goth Hotel.
Kaeya turned to Lisa, worry etched on his face. "Lisa, I think I need to go collect the Fatui corpses."
Shao Yun, gripping his revolver tightly, pressed the cold barrel against the back of the surviving Fatui, forcing him to walk ahead as they made their way to the Goth Hotel.
Lisa and Kaeya, along with a squad of Knights, followed at a distance of about fifty meters.
Curious Mondstadt citizens, emboldened by the commotion, peeked out from their homes. Some even trailed behind the Knights, eager to see what was happening.
When Shao Yun reached the Goth Hotel, he kicked the Fatui in front of him to the ground, fired a shot into the air, and shouted, "Get the hell out here, you blind fools! Did you think I was merciful?!"
His voice reverberated through the air, filled with rage and authority.
When no one emerged from the hotel, he continued his tirade. "You dare attack the Knights of Favonius while the Abyss Order invaded Mondstadt? You killed so many! You broke a fifteen-year-old girl's heart!"
"Mark your height and weight on your bodies so I can prepare your coffins!"
Seeing that the Fatui inside the hotel still refused to come out, Shao Yun's fury burned even hotter.
He drew another revolver, now holding one in each hand, his presence overwhelming. "You won't come out? Fine!"
With that, he pulled the trigger. A deafening gunshot rang out as a bullet shattered one of the hotel's windows. Glass shards rained down, scattering across the ground.
But Shao Yun didn't stop. He kept firing, bullets raining down like a storm, shattering every window in the hotel. The sound of breaking glass filled the air.
Soon, every window was destroyed.
From inside the hotel, a Fatui voice taunted, "You think you're so great? Some nobody trying to stop the Fatui! Do you even know how ruthless we can be?"
Shao Yun, undeterred, shouted back, "Then show me your ruthlessness! Come out now! Your time in Mondstadt is over. Get out here!"
The Fatui fell silent for a moment before another voice, trembling slightly, called out, "We've faced tougher opponents than you, and we survived!" They tried to intimidate Shao Yun with their past experiences, but he remained unmoved.
"You think your past can define me?" Shao Yun sneered. "Today, I'll show you what it means to meet someone beyond your comprehension!"
The Fatui, provoked by his tone, shouted back, "We do as we please! If we want it, Mondstadt will belong to Snezhnaya! The Fatui will control this land!"
Hearing their arrogance, Shao Yun didn't flinch. Instead, he spread his arms, feigning surprise as he looked around. "From what I see," he paused, pointing at the hotel's entrance, "the only Fatui left around here... are you!"
Minutes passed before a response finally came from inside the hotel. "You want us to come out? Fine!"
As the words echoed, the heavy doors of the Goth Hotel creaked open, revealing three Fatui members.
They varied in size and build, but all wore masks, their expressions unreadable.
One of them, a Pyroslinger, held a girl in his grasp—Amber!
Amber's clothes were disheveled, her face a mix of anger and frustration. Her bright eyes burned with defiance as she struggled against her captors. "Let me go, you damn Fatui!" she yelled, but her strength was no match for the trained soldiers.
Shao Yun, seeing Amber in their clutches, completely lost it.
Refusing to surrender and still putting up a fight? They really didn't take him seriously!
He grabbed the sole surviving Fatui from the wall incident and kicked him toward the group.
The kicked Fatui, initially shocked, quickly turned gleeful as he scrambled to his feet and joined his comrades. The relief of surviving was palpable.
Standing beside his allies, he sneered at Shao Yun, "You made a huge mistake! You gave up your bargaining chip! How stupid!"
But Shao Yun remained unfazed. He looked at the Fatui coldly, a smirk playing on his lips. "Yeah, I'm stupid. So stupid that I didn't even think of negotiating."
His calm tone carried an icy edge, sending chills down their spines. The Fatui's smug expressions froze as a sense of dread washed over them.
Surviving one disaster didn't guarantee fortune—sometimes, it just meant another disaster was coming.
Shao Yun shook his right hand, took a deep breath, activated his "Death's Eye," and swiftly drew his revolver. He fired four shots in rapid succession.
To the onlookers, it sounded like a single deafening blast, but each bullet found its mark with precision.
The four Fatui clutched their throats simultaneously, blood seeping through their fingers as they collapsed in pain and terror.
Seizing the opportunity, Amber broke free and stumbled to Shao Yun's side. "Are you okay?" he asked urgently. Amber rubbed her sore neck, forcing a smile. "I'm fine. Just got caught off guard, that's all."
She glanced at the writhing Fatui and asked, "What happened to them...?"
Shao Yun didn't answer directly. Instead, he began a countdown. "Three, two, one... boom!"
As he spoke, his Vision flashed, and the four Fatui burst into flames. They screamed in agony, rolling on the ground as the fire consumed them, leaving nothing behind.
Shao Yun looked at the Goth Hotel, its lights still blazing, and knew there were more inside. "Are there more Fatui in there?"
Amber nodded. "Yes!"
Shao Yun's eyes turned cold. He wanted to charge in, but the thought of potential innocents gave him pause. "Are there any hotel staff or guests inside?"
Amber shook her head firmly. "No, they're all gone. The Fatui took over the entire place and kicked everyone out."
Hearing this, Shao Yun's hesitation vanished. He holstered his revolvers and slung a pump-action shotgun from his back. "Good. Amber, let Mr. Goth know I'll compensate him."
With that, he stormed into the Goth Hotel.
The moment he stepped into the lobby, the screams of the Fatui and the roar of explosions filled the air. The hotel had turned into a living hell.
Screams echoed, and mutilated bodies were thrown out of windows.
Amber, Lisa, Kaeya, and the Knights outside watched in horror, unable to imagine the carnage unfolding within.
When a limbless Fatui was hurled out of a second-floor window, several Knights couldn't take it anymore and vomited their dinners.
Finally, Shao Yun dragged out the last surviving Fatui by the collar, tossing him onto the ground outside.
"You'll die horribly... The Fair Lady will make sure of it..." the Fatui tried to threaten, but his words faltered as he saw the scattered remains of his comrades. The gruesome sight left him speechless.
Shao Yun slung his shotgun over his back and drew a dagger, coldly tapping the Fatui's cheek. "You stabbed Mondstadt in the back during its darkest hour. You made Noelle cry. You used Amber to threaten me. You knew what was coming."
The Fatui spat, "The Fair Lady will crush you like an ant!"
But Shao Yun wasn't intimidated. Fear wasn't in his vocabulary. He leaned in, his voice dripping with menace. "Oh, I'm so scared. I'll kill her too. Now, any last words?"
The Fatui, having said his piece, cursed bitterly. "You... you're a devil! You'll die a horrible death—"
Before he could finish, Shao Yun plunged the dagger into his throat and twisted it. Blood gushed as the Fatui collapsed, lifeless.
Shao Yun stared coldly at the corpse, his rage simmering. He spread his arms and turned in a circle, declaring to the world, "Listen up, any Fatui still hiding in the shadows! I'll hunt you down one by one, rip out your eyes, and hang your heads on the city walls!"
His voice echoed through the night, filled with unrelenting fury. The Knights, cowed by his presence, lowered their heads, unable to meet his gaze.
