Gol D. Ace In Coiling Dragon

Chapter 301: Book 11: Part 5 – Origins Revealed

As shocked as he was, Ace wouldn't automatically believe the words of someone he just met. He needed to know exactly how she knew as a bloodline like that was one that Phueus wouldn't like to reveal unless absolutely necessary.

Khelissa revealed that the reason she was able to find out is a big part of the reason Phueus wanted to kill her in the first place. According to Khelissa, she was a humanoid Apex Divine Beast with the bloodline of a Vampire Lord.

The Divine Ability of a Vampire was [Blood Domain]. For most vampires, inside their [Blood Domain], they could control blood as though it was water, making it so that as long as their opponent had so much as a nick, the Vampire would be able to make them bleed to death, even if they were a deity with a Divine Body.

For Vampire Nobles, their [Blood Domain] allowed them to suppress the bloodlines of their opponents, weakening or even completely negating their opponent's use of a Divine Ability – as long as they had one.

But as a Vampire Lord, along with the other abilities, within Khelissa [Blood Domain], she could extract the blood essence of her target and almost perfectly infuse it into someone else, meaning that she could give a bloodline to someone who was born without.

It was that ability that Phueus wanted to get his hands on as he thought it'd help his ability to increase the proficiency of bringing a reanimated corpse's imperfect bloodline up to perfection.

Aside from that, she also had the ability to understand a bloodline in perfect detail just by ingesting a drop of blood of someone else. That was the reason she was able to understand Phueus' greatest secret so intimately, without him even knowing.

When Yulana asked what had happened back then, Khelissa explained that billions of years ago, after Phueus had found out about her abilities, he had tried to kill her. As an Apex Divine Beast herself, she thought she was no weaker than him, so she tried to fight back but quickly found herself on the weak side.

Thankfully, she managed to draw a drop of his blood before he instantly healed himself – preventing her from making him bleed out. Still, it was that drop of blood that allowed her to understand the true abilities of his bloodline.

Because of that, she made the impossibly difficult choice to slyly use the aftershocks of their battle, which started in her home in the Divine Water Plane, to massacre her Vampire Clan and take their bodies into her spatial ring so Phueus couldn't get his hands on them.

She then tried to escape to the Celestial Realm, hoping to get Orloff's help, but Phueus was too strong. Before she could make it in, Phueus killed her – or so he thought.

She ended up using a secret technique she created, which allowed her to fuse her consciousness and a small portion of her Willpower into a drop of her blood. She then used the impact of Phueus' final strike to escape as a drop of blood, with her storage ring into a random cave in the Celestial Realm, which would go on to be called the "Blood Cavern" thanks to the effects of her blood mutating the plants in the vicinity.

Thankfully, because of her quick thinking, despite getting his hands on her "corpse", because Khelissa wasn't truly dead, Phueus wasn't able to reanimate it. Unfortunately, she was forced to remove her connection to her former Sovereign Spark to distract Phueus long enough for her to escape unnoticed.

Once someone fuses with a Sovereign Spark or any form of God Spark, for that matter, it is usually impossible to unbind it. But because you bond with it using blood, Vampire Lords are able to unbind it. Unfortunately, not even they can unbind the connection of others to their sparks.

Khelissa then took them underground. In the middle was a pool of crimson blood so deep that not even Ace was able to sense the bottom of it. And in the centre were two crimson-gold plums that radiated a power that shocked each of them.

Khelissa explained that after she almost died back then, she came up with a plan for revival. First, using what was left of her power, she absorbed the blood of her former clansmen and stored it in the pool here, which then, over time, created those two fruits which held the bloodline of a Vampire.

She was then going to take possession of the body of someone worthy before recreating her former bloodline. As for what she was going to do after that, she planned on slowly biding her time and looking for any weaknesses of Phueus to hold on to, but she didn't expect to see a group like Ace's. A two-way soul mutated Divine Beast, and a three-way soul mutated several other supreme geniuses all in one group…

She still didn't know if it was possible, but if anyone was capable of finding a way to defeat Phueus, it was them.

Ace frowned and asked why not ask Orloff for help. If he's the strongest, he should be capable of killing him.

Khelissa sighed and explained that although Orloff was definitely capable of killing him, and to a certain extent, he was the kindest and most trustworthy of the Sovereigns, he was also the most frightening.

Orloff was a madman who was obsessed with finding the strength to break the shackles that prevented him from breaking past the realms of a Sovereign, and though he wasn't as strong as Orloff, Phueus' bloodline ability was one that may well be capable of that. If Orloff was able to get his hands on Phueus, Khelissa genuinely believed Orloff would find a way to accomplish his goal, and at that point, she didn't know what would happen.

Unless absolutely necessary, she didn't want to tell Orloff the truth of Phueus' ability.

She then explained that they were free to wait, but it would take Yulana around 100 years to reconstruct her bloodline into that of a Vampire Lord.

Joel then told Ace and the others that he would stay and wait for Yulana, but they should go.

Although 200 years wasn't a long time for them anymore, their time was too precious to waste in one place. He also gave Ace a telling look, and Ace immediately understood.

Ace hadn't mentioned it before as he couldn't trust Khelissa completely, but he was well aware that although for now he and Amira were safe, there were still other Vis Clan descendants alive.

Amira's aunt and cousins were still on the Yulan Plane, and after over a thousand years, he'd be surprised if they didn't have children of their own.

If Phueus found out, he would more than likely send his people to kidnap them, and at this point, although they were over 90% sure that Phueus hadn't perfected his Vis Bloodline, they had no idea how close he was, it may be a thousand more it could just be one member away.

Either way, they had to make sure that one, none of the Vis Clan descendants left the Yulan Plane and two, that Beirut and the other Sovereigns were made aware of the threat so they could prevent any harm from coming to them.

Plus, after over 1000 years, they all wanted to go back and see the friends and family they left behind.

As a result, after Ace and the others said goodbye, they left and made their way to the closest teleportation station.

The cost of travelling from a Higher Realm to a Material Plane cost one trillion Fate Stones for one plus a party of ten, but after their thousand-plus year adventure, they had accumulated well over five trillion Fate Stones. Still, because they had to leave a trillion to Julius when he left with Verano and another trillion to Yulana and Joel, they only had a little over three trillion left.

Still, it was more than enough for now. But just before Ace paid, he decided to make a slight detour to the Infernal Realm to find Linley and his group.

He didn't know if they had enough yet, but he knew that after this long away from home, they would likely be ready to return. Still, because of the urgency of the matters pertaining to Phueus and the Vis Clan, he had Killian send one of his Divine Clones back in advance to relay the information to Beirut and the others whilst the seven remaining members of the Golden Sun Pirates paid to head over to the Infernal Realm.

As soon as Ace and the others left, the guards who had just been waiting with bated breaths couldn't help but release a sigh of relief.

With the level of infamy of the Golden Sun Pirates, if Ace had told them to send them away without paying, they wouldn't have dared to reject. Thankfully, Ace didn't make their jobs difficult and paid in full.

The only thing Ace forgot to take into account before leaving was that each teleportation station was under the command of one of the Sovereigns.

Until now, information regarding Ace's past was sketchy at best, but the moment Ace sent Killian back to the Yulan Plane, the lesser Sovereign of Fate, Dhadite – the same Sovereign who tried to recruit Killian after finding out he was a three-way soul mutate –, who was watching with interest via his Godrealm was able to piece it together.

Deities may not have known the truth about what happened between Augusta, the Four Divine Beast Ancestors, and Beirut, but all the Sovereigns did.

This news didn't mean much to him, but he knew it would mean a lot to a couple of the other Sovereigns, namely Augusta and Phueus. His only concern was how he could gain the most out of it.
