Chapter 100: Chapter 100 Leaving

Every year, countless people want to take part in the Hunter Exam. However, due to rigorous preliminary screenings and the obscure location of the exam, only a fraction manage to find their way there.

Therefore, the number of people who can reach the first phase of the Hunter Exam each year is not fixed. Sometimes, there are only hundreds of people, and other times, there are thousands of people.

The locations chosen for the Hunter Exam are usually dangerous places. And when the exam reaches the final phase, the number of participants will basically be reduced to less than a hundred.

During the screening process, the mortality rate is very high, so it is a suitable environment for saving lives. The drawback? It's held only once a year.

If Law wanted to increase the number of pages in the book, he can take part in the Hunter Exam every year. Additionally, he could hunt at the exam's locations, as there would likely be a lot of ingredients.

'Once everything here is settled, I'll be able to leave.'

While Sanbica was treating Kenda, Law thought to himself. He relied on Barney's collection to get an opportunity to increase his strength rapidly, and then, in order to protect Ellie, he even put himself in considerable danger. It was a tit-for-tat.

Now that the immediate threats to her had been dealt with, there was no reason for him to stay any longer.

When Sanbica was treating Kenda, she took off her gloves again, revealing her pale and bloodless palms. She placed them directly on Kenda's fractured left arm and maintained contact for about twenty minutes before pulling away.

According to Sanbica, her ability couldn't heal injuries instantaneously, but can only significantly speed up the healing process.

An injury like a fracture, which usually take months to recover, can be healed in about half a month after her intervention. If the person is physically stronger, it may take less than a week to recover.

After the treatment, Law told Kenda about the five corpses outside the house that were carrying the G2 Virus. It was also at Sanbica's reminder that he discovered the recording devices on the bodies.

Kenda was shocked when he learned about this. Then, he used this as a lead to trace the source to the only nine-star hotel in Spice City.

Afterwards, Law went to the hotel, but found no one. When he questioned the front desk, the staff initially refused to disclose the information on the grounds of protecting customer privacy. However, after sensing Law's subtle yet intimidating aura, they quickly revealed that the guest occupying the top-floor suite had checked out two hours prior.

After obtaining the guest's name, Law returned to the mansion and shared it with Kenda.

Upon hearing the name, Kenda's face turned ugly. The owner of that name was a direct relative of one of the Ten Dons.

What Kenda didn't know was that the young man who sent his people here was frightened by the strength displayed by Law.

Even though five of his subordinates were killed, the young man didn't want to create a strong enemy because of this incident, so he took his people and decisively left Spice City.

The reason why he left so abruptly was also related to the information he obtained about the G2 Virus.

If Kenda had known the young man's reasoning, he probably wouldn't have been so worried.

The next ten days were calm. Law and Sanbica stayed in the mansion, waiting for Kenda's left arm to heal.

However, Kenda's right arm was already crippled and there was no possibility of recovery.

Time passed little by little, and the mansion, which was damaged during the battle, was undergoing repairs.

Sanbica, who had gotten the G2 Virus, requested a private room and would not let anyone disturb him.

Ellie, who knew that Law was about to leave, pestered him every day.

The battle that night resulted in a large-scale purge of Spice City's underworld. Word quickly spread about the disastrous outcome for the coalition of nine Mafia's leaders who had attempted to seize Barney's mansion.

Thanks to Kenda's resourcefulness, he managed to recruit new personnel in a short period of time and barely fill the vacancies. Moreover, the servants who were dismissed before the battle were also recruited back.

Law stayed there until the end of October, and when he was sure that Kenda's protection was strong enough, Law was ready to leave.

The day was clear and sunny.

"This is far enough. You two can head back now."

Law turned around and looked at Ellie and Kenda, who had been escorting him from the mansion all the way to the mountain path quickly gained distance from the mansion.

Sanbica stood quietly nearby, saying nothing.

"Law, will you come back to visit me?" Ellie asked reluctantly.

"I will." Law reached out and rubbed Ellie's head, then said with a smile, "We made a deal, didn't we? You must let me see the other Ogu's puppets when the time comes."

"Okay!" Ellie nodded earnestly.

"If you ever need help, don't hesitate to call." Kenda said as he bowed slightly.

He had bought Law a cell phone and they exchanged numbers. What he said before parting was not just polite talk. There might be little chance that they could help Law, but they might be able to help a little with money-related matters.

He didn't say much to express his gratitude, because he had already said it countless times during Law's stay.

"Take care."

Law nodded slightly, then turned and left, while Sanbica followed silently.

"Law, you have to come back and visit me!" Looking at Law's departing back, tears welled up in Ellie's light blue eyes and she waved her hands vigorously.

Law waved his hand as a final farewell.

"Wouldn't it have been more convenient to take a car? Why did you refuse?" After walking on the mountain path for more than ten minutes, Sanbica complained.

Originally, Kenda wanted to arrange a car to take Law and her directly to the city, but Law refused.

"This way, we can enjoy the scenery along the way." Law said with genuine enthusiasm as he glanced at the surroundings.

Hearing this, Sanbica's eyes widened in disbelief. She pointed at the sparse trees outside the mountain path, and asked, "What's so great about this?"

Law scratched his cheek, pointed to the sea beyond the trees and outside Spice City, and smiled, "There's the sea, isn't there?"

Sanbica looked at the sea in the distance, which was only about the width of a palm, and covered her head, sighing in resignation.

"You know, Sanbica, if we walk too fast, we may miss a lot of beautiful scenery. For people, the most important thing is patience. It's just a few hours of walking, it's no big deal." Law said earnestly.

Sanbica didn't bother to pay attention to Law and quickened his pace.

Thirty minutes later, Law stopped a red four-seater convertible sports car. The driver was a beautiful woman with wavy hair and sunglasses.

"Beautiful sister, my little brother and I are lost. Can you give us a ride?" Under Sanbica's incredulous gaze, Law said pitifully at the beauty in the car.

"Hop in. Where are you headed?" The wavy-haired beauty smiled and lifted her sunglasses to reveal a pair of big eyes with light makeup.

"Spice City."

Law opened the car door skillfully and sat down in the passenger seat. Then, he called out to Sanbica, who stood dumbfounded by the roadside, "Brother, why are you still standing there like an idiot? Get in! Don't keep beautiful sister waiting."

"It's okay. Is he your little brother? He looks taller than you." The wavy-haired beauty smiled.

Law fastened his seatbelt and casually replied, "Probably because he likes working out. See? His chest muscles are even bigger than mine."

The wavy-haired beauty subconsciously glanced at Sanbica's concealed chest, and nodded as if in agreement: "Your brother's outfit is a bit eccentric, but he has nice eyes."

"That's right, my little brother is good in everything except that he is a little introverted, that's why he covers himself so tightly." Law made up a few nonsense and then signaled with his eyes for Sanbica to get in the car quickly.

Sanbica shot Law a glare so venomous it might as well have screamed 'you're dead'. Then, she opened the back door begrudgingly and got in the car silently.

Law smiled but didn't care at all.

After Sanbica got in the car, the wavy-haired beauty started the car and drove down the mountain path.

On the way to Spice City, Law kept up an animated conversation and made the wavy-haired beauty laugh all the way.

Sanbica, who is sitting at the back seat, kept glaring at the back of Law's head and suppressed the urge to punch him several times.

Forty minutes later, the group of three arrived at Spice City.

"Little brother, it's a pity that you're a little too young and not my type." The wavy-haired beauty said regretfully before leaving.

"Ah, if only I'd been born a few years earlier." Law lamented as he leaned against the car door, shaking his head with a look of regret on his face.

"Hahaha."

The wavy-haired beauty laughed happily, then suddenly leaned over and kissed Law, and said with a smile: "I can't let you ride for free, consider this your payment."

After saying that, she started the car and drove off.

"Shameless." Sanbica muttered under her breath.

Law touched the bright red lipstick mark on his cheek, then looked around at the bustling streets and shops. HJe took a deep breath of air, and grinned: "You wouldn't understand."

The boost in strength had given Law immense confidence. The anxieties he had when he first arrived in this world had long since dissipated with his growth, so now, he was fully embracing his freedom.

"Alright, take me to sign up for the Hunter Exam." Law said and looked at Sanbica, who turned her head away, still sulking.

"Are you angry? I just thought same-gender proximity might make things awkward, so I had you temporarily change your identity. Look, that beautiful sister gave us a ride even though it was not on her way. It must be because we are both men. No, no, she must have thought you were a man."

Law knew what Sanbica was angry about and quickly explained.

Hearing this, Sanbica slowly turned his head and looked at Law with a hint of killing intent in his eyes!

Law took a step back and said seriously: "Let's talk this out. No need for violence."
