Chapter 422: Black Light? Black Shadow?

Previously, when Sun Wukong used his Heaven and Earth Fire Eyes to scout the entire Black Castle, he had not discovered the rest of the Underworld God Army. However, just now, when the Underworld God Army below made their move, Sun Wukong had already found another troop of the Underworld God Army on the ground above him, and among them, he identified a total of four squad leaders. In fact, in terms of perception, those four squad leaders were no different from the rest of the Underworld God Army, but as soon as Sun Wukong saw the expressions on their faces, he could clearly discern their status.
As he landed, Sun Wukong was immediately surrounded, by a total of two hundred people, fifty of whom were shield soldiers wielding heavy shields, while the other one hundred fifty were zombies created by Hei Kui. The zombies made by Hei Kui, although they moved somewhat slower than the normal Underworld God Army and their bodies were slightly more rigid, had their strength and defensive power significantly enhanced. Their overall combat power was even greater than their original state.
Sun Wukong now knew full well the trickery of the Underworld God Army; unless he killed those four squad leaders, the two hundred Underworld God Army soldiers could not be truly killed. Didn't you see that even their souls were being extracted by Wu Ming and then self-destructed, yet they were unaffected? Moreover, no matter how much their bodies were damaged, even to the point of being ground to dust, they could recover in at most a quarter of an hour. For a moment, Sun Wukong also felt a sense of helplessness about where to begin.
If they couldn't be killed, then he might as well try sealing them. As long as he sealed all of them, he could slowly look for their weakness later on. Nothing in this world is truly perfect. No matter how strong something may seem, it has a fatal flaw; it only appears strong because the flaw has not been found. With a thought swift as lightning, Sun Wukong raised both hands to his chest, and then nine diamond chains suddenly sprang from the palm of his right hand, quickly splitting into two, then four, and continuing to evolve.
In the palm of his left hand, a dark red "Seal" character appeared, followed by a burst of dark red light that sprayed out. However, it didn't envelop the Underworld God Army, but instead covered all those diamond chains. The fusion of the Seal Heavenly Stamp and Nine Decisions, although Sun Wukong had not completely integrated the two, he had found after several attempts that a fusion of the two secret techniques was possible. Since then, Sun Wukong had begun to ponder how to make this possibility inevitable.
On his way from the Domain of Death to the Black Castle, after several more attempts, Sun Wukong had managed to integrate the golden chains of the Seal Heavenly Stamp with the Seventh Decision's Confinement Law from Nine Decisions. However, to be safe, this time Sun Wukong took the risk of merging the Seventh Decision's unique confinement power with the diamond chains, as he had never attempted this before, so the merger was only preliminary, which is to say he had added the unique confinement power of the Nine Decisions to the diamond chains of the Seal Heavenly Stamp.
Thus, at this moment, chains flickering with an eerily dark red light floated in front of Sun Wukong. After scanning with his Heaven and Earth Fire Eyes once more, Sun Wukong had pinpointed the hiding places of the four squad leaders. As soon as the Seal Heavenly Stamp appeared, the four squad leaders had ordered all of the Underworld God Army to besiege Sun Wukong. Watching the two hundred expressionless Underworld God Army, Sun Wukong shouted loudly, and all the dark red chains in front of him shot out. Each strand of dark red chain wrapped around a member of the Underworld God Army, instantly confining the spiritual power within their bodies, and Sun Wukong felt that these merged Spatial Chains seemed to have the capacity to even confine space itself.
In an instant, the only thing those four squad leaders could see was a flash of red light, and the two hundred Underworld God Army had already become two hundred statues, no longer under their control. Now, the four of them were truly afraid and disregarded any attempt to conceal themselves. They turned and fled. Sun Wukong saw all this clearly; those four Underworld God Army squad leaders were actually hidden in the air the whole time, using some method unknown to him that allowed them to stay undetected even by Sun Wukong's Heaven and Earth Fire Eyes when they weren't actively controlling the Underworld God Army.
Now, however, their attempt to flee was futile. With a thought, one thousand meters to the right front of Sun Wukong, space suddenly split open, and then twelve imposing figures appeared out of nowhere. They were the Twelve Ancestral Witches who had followed Sun Wukong after the death of Master Tongtian, and who had been cultivating in the World Within the Artifact of Jingu Bang—Di Jiang, Ju Mang, Hou Tu, Gonggong, Zhurong, Tian Wu, Qiang Liang, Xi Zi, Zhu Long, She Bishi, Hou Tu, and Xuan Ming.
As the Twelve Ancestral Witches appeared, they directly surrounded the four squad leaders hiding in the void. Di Jiang then flickered, and the four revealed their true forms. Di Jiang, the Ancestral Witch of Space, excelled in space and speed. Attempting to hide in the void before Di Jiang was a joke, except for those true powerhouses who had mastered Spatial Divine Skills. Moreover, those four were not proficient in spatial power; the reason they could hide in the void, undetected even by Sun Wukong's Heaven and Earth Fire Eyes, was because one of them had a treasure that could open a space independent of this world at any time, a space where they could actively connect with everything in this world, sense and see, but to others, that independent space was imperceptible. Maybe Dao Zhun could do it, but at least Sun Wukong could not yet.
The moment the figures of the four appeared, they showed looks of terror. One of them immediately reached into his chest to take out an object to activate, but just as he took it out, he felt a sudden intense numbness all over his body, and then the object was already snatched by Di Jiang in his mouth. The ones who followed Di Jiang's move were Xi Zi and Qiang Liang from the Twelve Ancestral Witches. Xi Zi was adept with lightning, while Qiang Liang was skilled in thunder. The two struck together, instantly paralyzing the man with the power of lightning, allowing Di Jiang to take the object with his unmatched speed.
Before the four could recover from their numbness, the rest of the Ancestral Witches each took their turn to act, but they didn't unleash any powerful attacks, instead all of them employed various restraining and sealing techniques. First, Di Jiang flapped the flesh wings on his back, and the bodies of the four were now bound by ropes formed from spatial power. Then, Ju Mang pointed with his wooden staff and four thorny vines covered in spikes emerged from the ground, twisting around the bodies of the four. Following that, a barrage of different moves involving wind, fire, lightning, water, metal, earth, and more, rained down upon them.
In an instant, the four were covered in a dazzling array of colors with a mess of different things hanging off their bodies, and flashes of lightning occasionally streaked across them. This was the advantage of numbers; twelve against four, those four squad leaders were completely incapacitated without any chance to fight back. With a sweep of Sun Wukong's Jingu Bang, the figures of the four vanished from the spot.
They were not turned to ashes by a single blow from Sun Wukong, but were rather taken into the World Within the Artifact of the Golden Hoop Rod. Sun Wukong had realized that, though they couldn't be killed outside, the Thunder Pond inside the Golden Hoop Rod's World Within the Artifact had indeed thoroughly disintegrated three members of the Underworld God Army. After the four were taken into the World Within the Artifact, Sun Wukong unceremoniously tossed them into the Thunder Pond, then his Divine Sense entered the fray, and with the use of his Five Elements Power, he covered the entire Thunder Pond, beginning the dissolution of the three people's souls, just like before.
He kept one for interrogation, so there were only three being dissolved, but that was a matter for later. For now, suffering in the Thunder Pond wasn't so bad. Having seized the four squad leaders, Sun Wukong withdrew his Divine Sense from the World Within the Artifact. With the loss of control from those four, the 150 zombies of the Underworld God Army on the ground had stopped moving. In truth, they had already lost the ability to move after being locked by Sun Wukong's dark red Spatial Chains.
However, the 100 Soul Bodies of the Underworld God Army and the zombie Underworld God Army within the underground space were unaffected and continued to fight in a completely reckless manner, leaving Wu Ming and Hei Kui in a very sorry state. They probably never imagined they would see such a day, being miserably beaten by the souls and zombies they had created.
But if anyone had it the worst, it would be the Dragon Emperor and Ming Tiekuang; the mysterious black shadow that emerged from the altar initially seemed harmless, but in actual combat, the Dragon Emperor and Ming Tiekuang were so frustrated they were almost spitting blood. Their battle could be summarized in one sentence: their attacks were useless, while every move from the opponent was lethal. At first, the black shadow wrapped around the Dragon Lance and thrust straight at the Dragon Emperor, who only had to twist his figure to grab the lance with one hand, while his right elbow slammed outwards. However, his powerful elbow strike hit nothing but air. If it had been a Spell or Taoist Arts that missed, it would have been no more than a waste of Spiritual Power, but this was a direct physical attack. Missing his target left the Dragon Emperor off-balance, causing his body to stiffen momentarily.
After Ming Tiekuang's dual blades made a cross slash and totally missed, it seemed like the black shadow was indeed just a shadow, tangible but insubstantial. However, the next moment this thought died in their minds. At the same moment the Dragon Emperor tensed up, the knee of the black shadow rose sharply and slammed into the Dragon Emperor's abdomen. When Ming Tiekuang's blades missed, he flashed back to retreat but found a pitch-black hand had appeared behind him at some point, grabbing him and lifting him high, before slamming down hard towards the ground.
The hand was not only incredibly powerful but also carried a force that could erode his spiritual power, flesh, and soul. Yet, what shocked Ming Tiekuang the most was not the damage the hand had done, but the familiar feeling it gave him, completely stumping him in an instant.
At this moment, Sun Wukong had already returned to the underground space through the entrance, and seeing the black hand, he was taken aback, as he suddenly recalled what the hand and shadow were!
Wasn't it just like the black light within the black and white beams of light inside the World Suppressing Stele? (To be continued.
