Great Demon Sun Wukong

Chapter 425: Dao Zhun's Past

Dao Zhun's voice boomed loud and clear, completely unhidden as it floated above the great pit, his eyes smiling as he looked down at the newly established Annihilation Palace. No sooner had Dao Zhun's voice faded than twelve figures rapidly flew out from within the newly built palace and ascended into the sky. Soon after, Mo Wu, Mo You, and Wan Jun, holding the Seven-Star Dragon Abyss demon sword, made their way to the front. Everyone was slightly surprised to see that the newcomer was an old man with white whiskers.

"Elder, I trust you are well. May I know why you have come to my Annihilation Palace?" Mo Wu quickly recognized the person before him and subtly signaled Mo You and Wan Jun, standing behind him. Mo Wu spoke at a leisurely pace, "Hehe, it's nothing serious, just a matter of courtesy before force. I've come to negotiate with you all."

"Oh? May I ask what matter the elder wishes to discuss with us? As far as I know, Fangcun Spirit Realm and our Annihilation Demon Nation have always kept to their own waters without interference." Dao Zhun laughed heartily, "You are mistaken there. If it weren't for the meddling of your current Domain Lord, my Fangcun Spirit Realm would have long become a divine nation! But I am not here to settle old scores today—rather, to propose a deal to you!"

"A deal? Let's hear it!"

"Here is the proposition: I offer your lives in exchange for your surrender and withdrawal from the Patrolling Celestial World. How about it?" "Absolutely not. While I respect you as an elder, we are not ones to be bullied. I still deeply admire the elder for single-handedly turning the tide with his strength in the past. However, to ask us to abandon the struggle for the Patrolling Celestial World is utterly impossible. Moreover, in recognition of the elder's tremendous feats in that epic war of ancient times, I feel compelled to offer a piece of advice!"

"Hehe, unexpected. You seem to have a magnanimous heart, young friend. I'm all ears," said Dao Zhun, hovering leisurely in mid-air without any guard.

"In the Patrolling Celestial World, our army is destined to win! If the elder knows what's best, it would be wise to retreat early. Otherwise, meeting an end where both body and path perish is not what we would wish upon you!"

The Fangcun Spirit Realm has always been a neutral entity in this universe. Neither the Six Great Divine Nations nor the rest of the top-level worlds have plotted against the Fangcun Spirit Realm, except for once during Dao Zhun's attempt to claim the World Suppressing Stele. It was undermined by a minor trick used secretly by both the Annihilation Demon Nation and Myriad Demons Country, among others, which led to Dao Zhun's failure to claim the Heavenly Stele. But even that trick was used only after confirming that Dao Zhun wouldn't be capable of commanding the Stele, driven by an unwillingness to accept this fact.

It can be said that the existence of the Fangcun Spirit Realm is extremely unique. It isn't a divine nation, yet its status even surpasses one. Anyone who meets Dao Zhun of the Fangcun Spirit Realm would pay respect by calling him "elder" or "old master." The reason for this lies in the epic war of ancient times where Dao Zhun single-handedly turned the tide, ultimately aiding the Pioneer in sealing the Underworld Venerate.

In that war, the strength of the Underworld Venerate surpassed even the Pioneer, causing the latter's forces to initially suffer defeat. But during the final battle, as the Pioneer burned his own essence to trap the Underworld Venerate, he found himself lacking the strength to seal him. That was when Dao Zhun took action.

Burning all of his life force and detonating twelve top-level Domain Instruments, then employing his Life-bound Bodhi Tree, he transformed all his power into a long sword. Dao Zhun wielded that sword, dividing it into nine parts. Seizing the opportunity, the Pioneer used the nine World Suppressing Steles to thoroughly seal the Underworld Venerate. However, the Pioneer, having expended too much, divided his own Divine Sense into nine parts, each infused into the World Suppressing Steles to maintain the seal over Underworld Venerate while protecting his fragmented consciousness.

Dao Zhun, having also burned his life force, managed to cease in the nick of time, preserving his life despite the substantial loss of strength. Later, conforming to the Pioneer's wishes and using the Pioneer's Divine Blood for Body Refinement, he eradicated the dark damages to his life force and soul, although his Cultivation fell to the Domain Lord Peak, a level insurmountable by all beings.

The Domain Lord of the Myriad Demons Country, Hidden Realm, attained the bloodline of the Pioneer by virtue of being splashed with the Divine Blood during Dao Zhun's Body Refinement with it. Consequently, he harnessed the power of the Pioneer's bloodline and his own talent to advance to the Domain Lord Level and become the ruler of a divine nation.

Because of these feats, Dao Zhun enjoys such high status that no one in the entire universe dares to disrespect him. However, due to Dao Zhun's subsequent concealment, only a few from the major superpowers are aware of his name; it has not been passed down. Nevertheless, Mo Wu, Mo You, and Wan Jun are among those few who are aware of Dao Zhun's name.

Therefore, upon seeing Dao Zhun approaching alone and even advising them to give up, Mo Wu, although enraged in his heart, remained utterly respectful. Moreover, he knew that in this Patrolling Celestial World, their side was destined to win. Knowing this, how could he possibly give up?

"Heh heh, the tragedy of mortals lies precisely here. The reason I came to persuade was simply to avoid unnecessary killing. And this Patrolling Celestial World is not as simple as you think; having too many people die is not a good thing!" Your next read awaits at My Virtual Library Empire

"Even so, we will not give up. Senior, please stop persuading us. For a true man, to die on the battlefield is an honor! As a senior, you must know this. Say no more, we will fight to the death!" After saying this, Mo Wu waved his hand, and the person behind him quickly assumed a battle stance!

"Alas, why create more casualties needlessly? If that seal is loosened again, I'm afraid everyone will end up dead here. Alas, such misfortune, such misfortune!" As Dao Zhun finished speaking, all twelve from Mo Wu's side had already charged forward. In fact, there were originally eighteen people from the Annihilation Demon Nation, but five of them had already completely lost their combat power, leaving only thirteen capable of fighting. Now, twelve of them were confronting Dao Zhun, with only one person in the Annihilation Palace guarding the World Suppressing Stele.

Mo Wu actually had a hard time expressing his woes, not having expected Dao Zhun to arrive at this moment. According to the intelligence provided by the spies from Myriad Demons Country, shouldn't they still be at the Myriad Gods Hall at this time? According to the information passed back by the spy from Myriad Demons Country, their plan was to gather tonight and, while all of them were at the Myriad Gods Hall, to combine forces with the spy to achieve their goal in one fell swoop. Moreover, to prevent the plan from leaking, only a few people were privy to it.

However, what relieved Mo Wu was that only Dao Zhun had come by himself at this moment. It seemed the rest were either on their way or Dao Zhun was overconfident, coming alone to attack. Regardless of the reason, the primary task now was to defeat Dao Zhun. Although Mo Wu also greatly respected Dao Zhun, as the leader of the Annihilation Demon Nation, he had no choice but to make a move.

The twelve people from the Annihilation Demon Nation could be said to be the strongest in combat power and cultivation among all their people, with the weaker ones already dead in previous battles. That they had survived from the initial exploration of the terrain, through the attacks of ferocious beasts, to the recent great battle without dying was testament enough to the might of these twelve. Among them, Mo Wu was a Domain Lord Level powerhouse, at the Nine Patterns Supreme Peak, but with the Domain Instrument Seven-Star Dragon Abyss in hand, his combat power was not weaker than a Domain Lord's. Mo Wu's strength could also be considered half a step into the Domain Lord Level. The remaining nine were all at the Nine Patterns Supreme Peak.

Facing the attack of the twelve, who advanced like fierce tigers, Dao Zhun showed no reaction, as if the twelve were but a light breeze to him. The first to reach him was not the Domain Lord Level Mo Wu, but Wan Jun wielding the demonic sword Seven-Star Dragon Abyss. After his last battle with Rogue Heart Sword Hero, although Wan Jun sustained injuries, his strength had surprisingly increased further after his recovery, and his actual combat power was now even above that of Mo Wu's.

The sword in his hand created a trail of dark light mixed with specks of silver starlight, slashing directly towards Dao Zhun. Still maintaining an easy demeanor, Dao Zhun took a casual step in the void, reappearing just ahead of his original position, although his elevation rose by over ten meters, and only then did Wan Jun's sword Qi slash beneath his feet. However, at this moment, Wan Jun's figure exploded into motion, appearing behind Dao Zhun.

Another sword strike came from above, this time the dark light on the Seven-Star Dragon Abyss was subdued, and the first of the seven stars on its side suddenly brightened. Yet Dao Zhun seemed oblivious to the attack from behind, yawned, raised his hands, and stretched his body. As Dao Zhun lifted his arms, Wan Jun's sword passed closely beside him but still missed its mark.

It was only then that Dao Zhun appeared startled, turning his head to look back at Wan Jun and said, "Young man, you had a boundless future ahead, but it's a pity you've strayed onto the wrong path. You do not deserve to wield this sword!" And as Dao Zhun turned his head, a trail of starlight flashed by his right hand. If he hadn't turned, this starlight would have penetrated the back of his head.

Feeling the fleeting flash of starlight, Dao Zhun suddenly frowned and said, "Attacking an old man so fiercely, resorting to a sneak attack? You really disgrace your master!" With those words, Dao Zhun appeared to grow angry, half-twisting his body, and then reached his right hand into the left sleeve as if to put something on.

As his right hand delved into his left sleeve, the Seven-Star Dragon Abyss once again swiped where his right arm had been. Seemingly startled again, Dao Zhun instinctively stepped forward and then violently pulled out his right hand. But as his right hand emerged, his right elbow smashed directly into Wan Jun's face.

Wan Jun, whose attack had just missed, was planning to flash beside Dao Zhun, but his figure had barely materialized before his face was hammered by Dao Zhun's elbow. The instant pain caused Wan Jun to retreat in a flash, while Dao Zhun looked bemused and said, "Heh, I forgot, I forgot, I gave that Bodhi Tree to my good granddisciple. Eh, why is there blood on my sleeve? Oh, another piece of good clothing ruined!" (To be continued.
