Chapter 544: Wu Ming Dies, Blood Prison Forms!
Feeling the immense fire attribute energy contained within the Ninth Burning Fire World Suppressing Stele, Sun Wukong cracked a grin. With a total of nine World Suppressing Steles, now including the Ninth Burning Fire, he already had two in his possession, while another was with Sha Wujing. Although there were some issues with his own Wasteland Stele, it was, after all, a World Suppressing Stele. Moreover, with the fire attribute of the Ninth Burning Fire, once he returned to the Pangu Realm, he definitely wanted Bajie, that fool, to see if he could bond with it. If it worked, heh heh, each of the three brothers would have a World Suppressing Stele. Announcing this would surely drop countless jaws.
With this in mind, Sun Wukong was about to store the Burning Fire Stele into the World Within the Jingu Bang, but he discovered, to his surprise, that he couldn't put it in. After several attempts, he could feel that the World Within the Jingu Bang seemed quite resistant to the Ninth Burning Fire World Suppressing Stele. Having no choice, he tried to place it into the mysterious space Dao Zhun had left him. If that didn't work, he was afraid he'd have to carry the Burning Fire Stele back. Fortunately, the mysterious space didn't reject the Burning Fire Stele and smoothly took it in.
His World Within the Artifact was truly bizarre; some people could enter effortlessly while others couldn't no matter how hard they tried. Even if forced in, they would be immediately ejected. Now it wasn't just people; objects were the same. Sun Wukong had originally wanted the Burning Fire Stele to provide some fire attribute spiritual power to his World Within the Artifact, but it looked like this idea had to be abandoned. Plus, Sun Wukong vaguely sensed that he was beginning to understand some of the rules of the World Within the Artifact. However, now was not the time to study this.
After storing the Thunder Fire Scorching Flame Cannon and the Ninth Burning Fire World Suppressing Stele, Sun Wukong turned to leave. But just as he did, he saw a person lying in the corner of another large pit. Sun Wukong walked over, dragged the person out of the dirt, and saw that it was none other than Ming Tiekuang! Seeing Ming Tiekuang, and combining the fact that he had fallen here without a trace of spiritual energy fluctuation, considering Ming Tiekuang's background, Sun Wukong had already guessed that the earlier attack on himself was very likely launched by Ming Tiekuang controlling the Thunder Fire Scorching Flame Cannon from this spot.
He sighed. Although Ming Tiekuang truly intended to kill him back then, Ming Tiekuang was now dead, and Sun Wukong had to let go of any hatred he harbored. Dropping Ming Tiekuang's corpse, Sun Wukong leaped up. After leaving the pit, he stretched out his right hand towards it and pointed; a transparent surge of Qi shot out, directly collapsing the edge of the pit and burying it thoroughly. Sun Wukong didn't know whether the Underworld God Army was particular about being buried, but he couldn't be concerned with that any longer.
Having buried Ming Tiekuang, Sun Wukong no longer hesitated. With a flash, he returned to his original location, looking as if nothing had happened. When he arrived, he happened to see the last Ancestral Witch being struck to the ground by Wu Ming with a powerful blow. His gaze quickly swept over, and once more, he was astounded by the destructive power of Wu Ming. In such a short amount of time, Wu Ming had taken down all twelve Ancestral Witches. Of course, as long as Sun Wukong was immortal, the twelve Ancestral Witches could recover completely with enough spiritual energy, even if they were beaten down.
Turning around, Sun Wukong saw Xi Zhao awake behind him, severely injured all over his body. The thought of fighting, even just standing up, was extremely difficult, and with his Heaven and Earth Fire Eyes, Sun Wukong could see that within Xi Zhao's body, a Blood Fiend Force was continuously damaging his meridians and flesh. If Xi Zhao hadn't possessed the extreme Ice Frost Power to restrain it, Sun Wukong reckoned he would have been a cripple by now. Sun Wukong sighed at the sight of Xi Zhao, who had been so imposing not long ago yet now found himself in such a plight.
As Sun Wukong was reflecting, Wu Ming charged at him again. However, Sun Wukong didn't make a move but instead stood with his hands behind his back, his eyes filled with a sorrowful expression. Just as Wu Ming had closed half the distance, a black shadow flashed by, hitting Wu Ming directly in the abdomen. Wu Ming, caught off guard, was sent flying backward. The black shadow halted instantly, landing on the ground. It was Hei Kui, who had transformed into his true form, Black Prison Sky-Shaking Roar.
Following the evolution of the Nine Decisions Vajra Ape, Wu Zhiqi, into the Nine Decisions Primordial Beast, and the battle with Qian Yuye, Hei Kui was no longer needed. So when he saw Wu Ming, clad in blood-red Bone Armor, preparing to attack Sun Wukong, Hei Kui immediately transformed into his true form and collided with Wu Ming. For Hei Kui, Wu Ming was one of the few friends he had, and moreover, the only friend still alive. After striking Wu Ming, Hei Kui opened his mouth wide and let out a sky-shaking, earth-shattering roar towards Wu Ming.
In that roar, Sun Wukong even saw a complete vision of Hell, full of various kinds of demons, although it was only a phantom. When Hei Kui's roar faded, Sun Wukong felt his own spirit slightly quivering. He knew that Hei Kui wasn't only facing away from him, but had also concentrated all his power on Wu Ming. Sun Wukong was just affected by an extremely weak aftermath, yet his spirit still swayed. This gave some indication of the power behind Hei Kui's roar.
As Sun Wukong shifted his gaze back to Hei Kui, he was surprised to find that, somehow, Wu Ming had taken his place in front of Hei Kui. Wu Ming's body was covered in shattered bone armor, revealing a battered body riddled with countless wounds.
"Wu Ming, I will avenge you; rest assured, even if it costs me my life!" Hei Kui, now in human form, said gravely to Wu Ming, who looked as though he had crawled out from a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood. Wu Ming's face was covered in fresh blood, but he still managed to speak, "Xiao Yin is dead, and I will soon follow her. Brother, I'm sorry, I can no longer stand beside you in battle. If you encounter an enemy you can't handle, just run, because there will be no one to cover your retreat anymore."
At this point, Wu Ming suddenly started coughing violently, yet Hei Kui did not move to support him. After a bout of coughing, Wu Ming slowly raised his head again, his eyes brimming with tears as he looked at Hei Kui and said with difficulty, "Don't worry, in the next life, I, Wu Ming, will still be your brother, and we will fight together again. Oh, and if you can't find me, just look for whoever loves to write on people's faces the most, that will definitely be me. Alright, brother, it's time for me to go. Before I leave, let me do one last thing for you."
After speaking, Wu Ming's body dissolved into a cloud of blood mist. Hei Kui, however, remained rooted to the spot, barely managing to hold back his tears with his shoulders quivering slightly. "Hei Kui, what are you waiting for? Hurry up, do you want me to waste my effort? Come on, let me become the strongest evil ghost in your Black Prison!" Wu Ming's voice was filled with urgency.
Finally, Hei Kui threw back his head and let out a mournful howl, transforming back into his true form with the Black Prison Sky-Shaking Roar. Sun Wukong immediately covered his ears and opened his mouth wide. His Heaven and Earth Dao Eye allowed him to see much more.
Meanwhile, an indescribable roar burst forth from Hei Kui as he raised his head, causing the space above Hei Kui to start cracking. Amidst the roaring, the illusory Hell that Sun Wukong had seen before appeared again, this time with striking reality. Witnessing this scene, Sun Wukong was reminded of Ming Wanjie.
The Underworld that Ming Wanjie could summon was already formidable, but it paled in comparison to the dark Hell above Hei Kui's head. How could a mere palace compare to the entirety of Hell? As the miniature version of the dark Hell emerged, the blood mist that was Wu Ming suddenly rushed into it, transforming directly into a blood-red specter.
The moment the blood-red specter formed, Sun Wukong was shocked to see the entire dark Hell turn blood-red, and all the various evil spirits within immediately knelt or prostrated on the ground, seemingly welcoming their monarch.
Eventually, the blood-colored Hell's light slowly diminished, and Hei Kui's roar faded. When all settled down, Hei Kui transformed back into his human form. This time, however, there was a red mark of a ghostly head in the center of his forehead.
"From today onward, I will become the Blood Prison Sky-Shaking Roar, and together with you, I will embark on this path of vengeance!" (To be continued.
