Gridiron Titan: The Rise of Deimon - eyeshield 21 fanfic

Chapter 16: Chapter 16 -Devil Bats vs White Knights 4Q

The clock was ticking down, and every play had become a battle for survival. With a score of 30-28 to start the fourth quarter, it was anyone's game. Both teams were exhausted but determined, knowing the next few minutes would decide the winner. Deamon had the slight lead, but Ojo was on their heels, ready to strike.

Deamon's First Drive:

The crowd roared as Deamon took the field for the opening drive of the fourth quarter. Eyeshield 21 was back in his position, his eyes scanning the defense, determination burning behind his mask. On the first play, Deamon pulled off a surprising power run.

As the ball was snapped, Sena Kobayakawa (Eyeshield 21) burst forward, a streak of lightning down the field. He dodged the first wave of tacklers with ease, his speed unmatched, but as he approached Shin, he made a quick juke to the side and broke through Shin's grasp. However, what really helped push him through was TJ—who was once again playing a pivotal role as a blocker.

TJ charged in, locking up Shin and creating the perfect opening for Sena to break through. A powerful block from TJ sent Shin sprawling to the ground, unable to recover in time. With Shin off balance, Sena sprinted through the gap, cutting across the field at a mind-boggling pace. The defense couldn't catch him as he streaked toward the end zone, untouched, scoring a massive touchdown.

Hiruma, the quarterback and mastermind of Deamon's offense, wasted no time in lining up for the two-point conversion. A quick snap, a flash of movement, and Hiruma tossed a precise pass to Eyeshield 21. The wide receiver spun and dove for the end zone. The conversion was successful, and the score was now 38-28 in Deamon's favor.

Ojo's Second Drive:

Ojo was not out of this fight yet. The White Knights quickly took the field, and Shin seemed fired up, despite the bruises from earlier in the game. The offense was carefully strategized, with Shin taking control of the ball, mixing in quick, short runs to keep the defense guessing. Every movement seemed calculated, with a series of passes to Sakuraba keeping Deamon's defense on edge.

Then came the moment Ojo had been planning for. Shin, faking a run, passed the ball off to one of the Ojo wide receivers, who was sprinting downfield with a head of steam. The Deamon defense was too focused on Shin to notice the receiver breaking free. The ball was perfectly placed, and the wide receiver caught it in stride, racing into the end zone untouched.

Takami lined up for the extra point, and with precision, the ball split the uprights. The score was now 38-35, with Ojo closing the gap to just three points. The game was far from over.

Deamon's Third Drive:

With 6 minutes left on the clock, Deamon wasn't about to let Ojo catch up. Sena handed the ball to Eyeshield 21 once again, and this time, the speedster turned the corner and exploded downfield. With every step, his legs churned like pistons, his speed unmatched.

But this time, he wasn't just relying on his legs. Sena ran full speed alongside Shin, anticipating where the gaps might form, watching his every move. In the blink of an eye, Sena shot forward like a missile, hitting Shin's blind spot and then breaking through the defense entirely. There was no stopping him—he had a clean path ahead, his acceleration on full display.

Now hitting full speed, Eyeshield 21 covered a staggering 65 yards in a matter of seconds. His 4.2-second 40-yard dash had proven its worth. The Deamon crowd went wild as Sena crossed into the end zone for another touchdown. Hiruma added a quick two-point conversion, a razor-sharp throw into the arms of Sakuraba, extending Deamon's lead to 44-35.

Ojo's Fourth Drive:

But Ojo wasn't done yet. With the pressure mounting, Shin and Takami weren't about to let Sena's touchdown demoralize them. They were determined to strike back.

In the huddle, Takami gave Shin a look that spoke volumes. This was it—the drive that could win or lose the game. Ojo needed to play it smart, and smart they were.

With pinpoint accuracy, Takami found Sakuraba on a fade route down the sideline. Shin had just enough time to lock down TJ long enough for Sakuraba to reach the ball at its highest point, using his incredible vertical leap. With a defender draped over him, Sakuraba managed to make an acrobatic catch and land just inches over the goal line, scoring a 50-yard touchdown.

Takami lined up for the extra point, which went through cleanly. The score was now 44-42, Deamon holding just a two-point lead.

The Onside Kick:

The clock was ticking down, and Ojo's hopes rested on one final move: an onside kick. The ball was lined up perfectly for a chance to steal possession. The Ojo kicker sprinted forward, his foot meeting the ball in a swift motion. The ball spiraled up into the air, tumbling unpredictably as it bounced off the hands of one of Deamon's unmarked players.

The unthinkable happened—Deamon's player muffed the catch. The ball hit the turf and rolled toward Ojo's players, who quickly dove on it, securing the recovery at the 45-yard line of Deamon's territory. The entire Ojo sideline erupted, knowing they now had one final chance to win the game.

Ojo's Final Play:

With less than a minute on the clock and the game on the line, Ojo lined up for the field goal. The entire team had their eyes fixed on the ball as the kicker took a deep breath. This was it—the moment that would define the game.

The snap was clean, the hold was perfect, and the kicker's foot met the ball with a decisive strike. The ball flew straight through the air, cutting through the wind, and soared over the bar with just enough distance.

The 50-yard field goal was good! The Ojo White Knights had won the game, 45-44, by the narrowest of margins.

The stadium erupted into ecstatic cheers as Ojo celebrated their miraculous comeback. They had done the impossible—overcoming TJ, Sena, and the entire Deamon team to steal the victory.

The battle had been hard-fought, but in the end, Ojo had risen above, proving that with strategy, persistence, and a bit of luck, no team was ever truly out of the fight.
